Osteoporosis is medically defined as: "An inherited disorder characterized by a generalized increase in bone density, probably caused by a faulty resorption resulting from a deficiency of osteoclasts. In its most severe form, transmitted as an autosomal recessive condition, there is obliteration of the bone marrow cavity, causing severe anemia, marked deformities of the skull, and compression of the cranial nerves, which may result in deafness and blindness and lead to an early death. A milder, benign form, transmitted as an autosomal dominant trait, is characterized by short stature, fragile bones that fracture easily, and a tendency to develop osteomyelitis. Also called ivory bones, marble bones, osteosclerosis fragilis." Mosby's Medical Dictionary, 3rd edition, p. 854
I clearly disagree with Mosby's medical definition of osteoporosis simply because the disease is not inherited, at least in most cases. A more accurate description and definition of 'osteoporosis' is given by James F. Balch and Phyllis A. Balch infra:
"Osteoporosis is a progressive disease in which the bones gradually become weaker and weaker, causing changes in posture and making the individual extremely susceptible to bone fractures. The term 'osteoporosis', derived from Latin, literally means "porous bones." Because of the physiological, nutritional, and hormonal differences between males and females, osteoporosis primarily affects women. Indeed, this debilitating disease afflicts more women than heart disease, stroke, diabetes, breast cancer, or arthritis. Fully half of all women between the ages of forty-five and seventy-five show signs of some degree of osteoporosis. Over a third of that group suffer from serious bone deterioration."
Osteoporosis accounts for 70% of all fractures of people over 45 years of age in the U.S.
According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, osteoporosis causes 1.5 million fractures in general, over 300,000 hip fractures, over 700,000 vertebral fractures, and over 250,000 wrist fractures each year in the United States.
Okay, to really divulge the true cause of osteoporosis - osteoporosis is technically not a calcium deficiency disorder. It is not lack of calcium that causes the disorder or disease, but ACIDOSIS that causes the problem.
When there is osteoporosis, the body is too acidic, especially the kidneys. Excessive acid in the kidneys could shut the kidneys down (kidney failure) resulting in death. To prevent this from occurring, the Body Intelligence steals calcium from the bones and sends it to the kidneys to give them some base so as to neutralize the acid in the kidneys. Taking calcium from the bones reduces bone density resulting in osteoporosis.
Remember, calcium is the number one alkaline mineral (meaning it is the most alkaline of the minerals, the eight alkaline minerals, that is).
It is believed that so many White (or Caucasian) women suffer from osteoporosis due to their drinking a lot of diet soda pop in past years and decades, thinking diet soda was somehow better (more healthy) than regular soda pop.
Both regular and diet soda contains the very toxic and dangerous substance "phosphoric acid" which is literally a bone eater. Phosphoric acid is greatly acidic. It eats or corrodes the bones (skeletal system) and teeth.
Soda itself does this as soda in and of it self is very acidic. In fact, it takes 32 glasses (8 ounce size) of alkaline water to neutralize the effect of one can of soda.
In addition to acidic soda pop, White (Caucasian) women also consumed (and still consume) a lot of dairy products that are also very acidic. It's the acidity from the diet that causes a lot of White women to have fragile bones. Osteoporosis is not some disease or disorder that just decided to primarily target White (or Caucasian) women. White women never had a problem with fragile bones 50 years ago, so what happened all of a sudden whereby a lot of White women developed and are developing osteoporosis?
And clearly, the disease or disorder is not limited to females and White women in particular. Males also suffer from osteoporosis, as do Asian, Hispanic, and African-American women whom in the U.S. also consume a lot of soda pop and dairy products.
Osteoporosis is a calcium problem in part, but not in whole or full. It is part calcium deficiency but more so calcium loss due to acidosis. And mind you, Americans consume a lot of calcium, but the problem is - they are consuming the incorrect kind or type of calcium: elemental calcium (calcium oxide) that is inorganic. The human body requires organic nutrition. The body can only assimilate and absorb that which is organic. That's why plants are the best source of nutrition for human beings, including calcium. It is highly erroneous to depend on dairy products, orange juice, cereal, and antacids as a source of nutritional calcium.
Consider the following:
"People in the United States consume more dairy products and other foods high in calcium per capita than the citizens of any other two nations on earth put together. We even have orange juice and antacids that are fortified with calcium. Yet we eat far less total food, take in less calcium, and get less exercise that stimulate bone growth than our grandparents did. At the same time, we consume more animal protein and phosphate-containing foods such as soft drinks. Perhaps not surprisingly, therefore, we also have the world's highest rates of osteoporosis and bone fractures among elderly people."
How can a people who consume inordinate amounts of calcium lead the world in osteoporosis and bone loss? Something doesn't add up unless you understand that there are two types of minerals - oxide and phosphate, or inorganic and organic respectively, and humans must consume the right type or kind in order to thrive health-wise.
Again, the right kind of calcium is CALCIUM PHOSPHATE (derived from plant sources) and not calcium carbonate, calcium lactate, calcium citrate, or calcium gluconate.
Diet and lifestyle plays an important role in bone loss incidences. Our bones must be nourished and since they are primarily comprised of calcium they need calcium so as to be nourished.
When there is lack of a nutrition in one part of the body, the Body Intelligence will take a nutrient from another part of the body and send it to the part of the body that is greatly lacking in the specific nutrition and also very dependent upon that nutrient. For example, the Body Intelligence will take zinc from the brain of men and send it down to the prostate gland that greatly lacks in zinc due to excessive ejaculation (as male ejaculate is loaded with zinc).
The Body Intelligence will take calcium from the teeth and bones of pregnant women and send it to the developing baby which really needs the calcium for purposes of proper development. This is why a lot of women suffer with teeth problems after giving birth.
A lot of women who just gave birth or had a baby also experience great hair loss and this is due to the Body Intelligence taking the so-called beauty nutrients, i.e. biotin, silica, calcium, zinc, etc. and sending them to the developing baby, and because the mothers are ignorant about replenishing nutrients, the body experiences lack and thus problems (disease, disorder).
Consuming the right kind of nutrients (i.e. nutrients that the body can absorb and assimilate, not just digest) is very important. You must make sure you're getting organic nutrients.
The reason why you won't find organic nutrition in most health food stores and supermarkets is because organic nutrition is going to come from plants and plants can't be patented like pharmaceutical drugs can and are, so most nutritional products (minerals and vitamins) on the market of health food stores and supermarkets are manufactured from oxides simply because pharmaceutical companies are producing these pseudo nutritional products (and yes, to make money playing on the needs of the average consumer, especially those seeking to be health conscious).
Osteoporosis is considered a degenerative disease and degenerative diseases are reversible diseases - reversible via diet and lifestyle changes. Lifestyle changes can include mental thought process and attitude change.
Healing Osteoporosis Naturally
Dietary changes are warranted to heal from osteoporosis! Meat and especially dairy products should be entirely eradicated from the diets. These things are too acidic!
Consume mostly organic, raw, live foods - fruits and vegetables, but especially green leafy cruciferous vegetables. Green foods (broccoli, parsley, spinach, alfalfa, dandelion, etc.) are usually high in organic calcium and usually contain more Vitamin C than some citrus fruits. Opt for green foods for organic calcium. Also, learn to stop thinking of calcium as being white in color, but green in color. We have been programmed to associate calcium with the color white and associate white-colored things with calcium, i.e. milk, antacids, and calcium supplements. Make green the new color for calcium and you will fare well in life with your health.
Drink plenty of vegetable juice daily as vegetable juice is alkalizing and many vegetables contain moderate to high amounts of calcium and thus are great for reversing bone density conditions such as osteoporosis.
Eliminate consumption of commercial brands of orange juice, i.e. Minute Maid, Sunkist, Florida Natural, etc. Fresh squeezed (which may cost more) is best. An orange is acidic in nature, but it is alkaline! A thing may be acidic in nature, but not acid forming (which leads to mucus forming). Oranges, limes, and lemons are acidic in nature (containing various acids), but are not acid forming (mucus forming). They don't cause acidity in the body.
