Everyone nows about the texting wile driving law that was passed. We was talking about it in class yesterday. Some were mad about it even saying “I don’t even like the seatbelt and helmit laws.” Anyway I made a comment about why can’t people be responsible for their own actions. Why do we have to have someone tell us what, when and how to do something. Well, It was deafly silent when I said this. The only thing you heard was the air conditioner. It kind of made me uncomfortable so I cut my comments short.
But really why do people have to have someone to tell them the most simple things not to do. And I know there were people and will be people who don’t agree with me but I don’t care.
I’m like really, you needed someone to make it to the point that you will get in trouble for doing something for you to stop and think, “Maybe I shouldn’t be texting while I’m driving.. Maybe my eyes should be on the road paying attention to the other drivers around me instead.” To me it’s sad.
This other student said, "I'm always texting whild driving. I rarely pay attention to the road." In my mind I'm like damn. I can just picture it now. your driving ninety on the highway, decide you want to text your friend about the club. So there's one hand off the wheel. Your hungry and pull out a sandwhich and there's another hand off the wheel or only a pinky holding it. And then your like "Oh, shoot!" I want to change the song on my IPotd. A person with two eyes and neither of them are on the road. Wow!
But, if it’s too this point now, than what? Do we need cars that drive themselves. Just thingk all you have to do is put in you location and destination points like you would in a GPS and press go and the car will take you to your destination. So this will give you time to sit back, watch tv, text your friend about the new club you went to and eat your food. Nice right?
But what if you didn’t want to go to work that day. You called your boss and told him you was sick but you wanted to go to your friend’s house and play madden instead. You hopped in your car, punched in you destination and pressed go. The screen said, “Sorry destination not viol id” Then the car locks you in, turns on, and drives you to work.
Your boss knocks on the window and the car rolls it down. “Um, I thought you was sick. Get to work!”
I bet your sick now.
You walk in wearing a hoody and jeans when your suppose to be in business attire. You look at your neighbors cubical and see your home boy wearing Barney footy PJ's.
But really, when are we going to take responsibility for our own actions.

The reason you heard crickets when you asked that question is because none of them probably ever thought about it. Those are the ones who will hit your parked car and drive off and not say one word and just imagine it's millions more just like them. This is why people need all kinds of insurance to cover damages that irresponsible people make. I don't believe people will ever take responsiblity for their actions which I believe leads to a police state.
Certain people will never take responsibility for their actions. Hey, why should they? That's why we have insurance, doctors, pharmaceuticals, vaccines, certain "benefits" that keep us in a "certain state of dependence", government and agencies, etc etc. People don't really NEED to take responsibility when all of this is available.
I wrote about this same topic recently somewhere because I thought the same as you guys. It was especially funny to me because a few people I know all of a sudden were outraged, shocked, etc about the law.
So true, why do we need a law to tell us what is reasonable or right or wrong? I was reading an article here where I live right after the law was passed. There was a lady whose teenage daughter died, I believe it was last year, in a car accident while texting and driving. The mother said in the article "maybe my daughter would still be alive if this law had been in effect back then".
??
There again, depending on the "our father the government" to make common sense ass laws and police to enforce them. Why do we need to take responsibility when we can just wait for them to think for us and tell us what we need?

I agree with Newdeep as well. Plus, they DON'T WANT to think about it, don't have to, and never will even if given the information and opportunity. Too much other important BS to think about.
