Many people out there are becoming vegans, raw foodists, and vegetarians under the guise that it is healthier for them. Is it really healthier to being vegan though and are vegans/vegetarians being thrown the ookie doke by large commercial interests and other "Hucksters" to their detriment? Check out my video on why that may not be the case. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRNwBg5k4gk
To get straight to the point, processed, refined and dead overcooked foods are the worst things to eat whether your vegan or not. At first, it does sound like becoming a vegan sounds healthier on paper but everyone is different and the variables to what is healthier are hard to pinpoint because your knowledge and application of veganism are a factor in the equation also. When i first became vegan, i was just affixing a label to myself automatically thinking that i was becoming healthier because of my new choices. Sorta like a placebo effect.
I was eating frosted flakes with soymilk a lot, lots of white rice and msg cooked foods, and just simply avoiding dairy and meat. It took about a year or so to really get health conscious and remove the dogmatic idea that either side is good or bad. Drinking bear and eating lays could be 'vegan' yet it doesn't mean its healthier.
I agree with Coolbgdogg10 I see it as their is no perfect food however there is a perfect diet though each unique individual has particular and unique needs to be fulfilled in those diets. (every human has a unique iris fingerprint dna strand etc)
Personally I opt for veganism first and raw foodist second even if its only every once in a while for the raw foods. Eating meat tears up my emotions and makes me depressed, drinking milk tears up my mental faculties and makes me slow aggressive and angry and soy makes my throat and stomach hurt as well as keeps me real irritated like i have just come down off a caffeine high.
If meat does an individual good then go ahead into the bush find yourself an innocent animal slaughter it drink the blood and eat the flesh while it is still warm to get that second hand nutrients from the plants it ate.
