Varicocele: enlargement of the veins within the scrotum

Varicocele is an enlargement of the veins within the scrotum, the pouch of skin containing the testes and parts of the spermatic cord. This condition is similar to varicose vein, a disorder that occurs in the legs. Varicocele usually occurs in males between the ages of 15 and 25.

Causes

The enlargement of the veins within the scrotum is due to inflammation, which can be caused by a number of things. Some common causes include:

  • Tight clothing
  • Excessive masturbation
  • Stress on the testicles

In some cases, the condition is a result of excessive masturbation. Inflammation in the testicles is a sign that too much stimulation is occurring. Eventually, the continuation on inflation can lead to lowered sperm counts.

Tight clothing can limit the blood flow to the pelvic area. This can happen from wearing too-tight pants or underwear.

Stress on the testicles includes sitting on a bike seat or sitting in a car for extended periods of time. The compression on the testicles can cause painful inflammation.

The pain resulting from varicocele can be agonizing. It can last for several weeks, causing everyday life to be uncomfortable.

Healing Naturally

If your varicocele stems from excessive masturbation, it is wise to listen to your body and stop. If the act is causing you pain, that is a sign that your body is in trouble.

Tight clothing should be replaced with loose, breathable clothing items. Wear cotton underwear that allows air flow. Keep pants reasonably loose and away from your genital area.

To help alleviate the pain that comes with varicocele, try soaking in warm water with sea salt. Do this for 45 minutes, several times per week. This will help to reduce the inflammation and ease the pain you are experiencing.

Avoid using lotions or synthetic products on the genital area. If you feel the need to use a lotion on your genital area, use healing oil. Some excellent healing oils that can be used are:

  • Olive Oil
  • Coconut Oil
  • Combava Oil
  • Coriander Oil
  • Rose Oil
  • Neroli Oil

Be sure to eat zinc-rich foods and consume plenty of fruits and vegetables. Avoid meat, dairy, refined foods, artificial sweeteners and carbonated beverages.

Herbs can help with the recovery process too. Some therapeutic herbs to try include:
