During the fall, people start to get excited about heavier, warm, comforting meal options. Stews, soups, big roasts, and pies attract your taste buds because they want to help you seek refuge from the colder weather. Unfortunately, this isn’t always beneficial for your waistline, as many of these recipes are classically unhealthy. They are replete with unhealthy fats, sodium, and calories. Break up these hardy meals with light salads that taste amazing!

Although there is a set ingredient list, feel free to add more cleanse-approved ingredients to this salad. The salad would benefit from ingredients like avocado, raw pistachios, chopped carrot, and or even raw hemp hearts, should you choose to add them. Feel free to follow the recipe to a T because it will be delicious with or without extra ingredients. As long as you add raw ingredients, this salad remains cleanse-approved.

One thing that you’ll notice about this salad is that the dressing is very simple. This is on purpose because the ingredients in the salad are assertive. In order not to hide those signature flavors, we used a simple dressing that actually accentuates them. The shallot has a lovely bite, complementing the earthiness of the beet root. For the beet, make sure that you shred it or julienne it because you don’t want thick, raw beet cubes in the salad.
