5 Ways To Boost Your Metabolism

Some people just have faster metabolisms than others. It isn’t fair to most of us that one person can go through a pint of ice cream without gaining a single pound. Genetics play a huge role in one’s metabolism, the body’s engine that helps continually burn calories. At the end of the day, however, slow metabolisms are no fun and the desire to make them work faster is ever-growing.

 

We all like easy ways, hacks if you will, that help kick-start any process. While there is no magic pill or a one trick fix to speed up the process, there are several natural ways to increase metabolism. Using a combination of the following methods, you can achieve the results you want.

 

Eat Breakfast: 

Getting out of bed and beginning the day can be a lethargic process. Expending the energy to make breakfast, in addition to all the other elements of a morning routine, may not seem in the cards. A healthy breakfast plays a key role in helping to shift the metabolism into gear. When you skip breakfast your metabolism slows down to conserve energy because no morning fuel has been provided. A hearty cup of steel-cut oats with fresh berries, which power you with antioxidants, and a banana is a great way to begin the day. You can also make some overnight oats so that breakfast is ready in the morning. Additionally, you can drink metabolism booster juice or blend a fresh vegetable smoothie with spirulina and almonds to help get you going.

 

Amp Up Your Workout:

Exercising is a great way to get the juices flowing, but incorporating interval training can rev up your metabolism. If your workout consists of a 30-minute walk, for example, jog for 60 seconds every 5 minutes to help burn calories more efficiently. When you insert interval training into a workout, you consume more oxygen and make your mitochondria work harder to burn energy. Interval training can help burn calories more efficiently throughout the day.

 

Sip Some Green Tea: 

Instead of drinking your morning java, substitute in some green tea for a metabolism-boosting, caffeine spark that’ll get you going. Not only is green tea filled with antioxidants, it promotes healthy digestion and weight loss, when combined with at least three hours of exercise per week. It’s also beneficial to alternate between hot green tea and cold water in the morning. The alternation of hot and cold makes your body burn calories to neutralize the liquids to its core temperature. The amount of calories burned is not substantial, but it’s a great way to boost your metabolism. Also, drinking eight 8oz. glasses of water a day is recommended and can help boost your metabolic engine. One thing to note is that you should avoid drinking bottled green teas because many of them have sugar or artificial sweeteners.

 

Spice It Up: 

            When it comes to adding extra flavor to your food, spice it up with some heat. Add a few dashes of cayenne, chili powder, or fresh peppers to your meal. Capsaicin, the compound found in peppers, boosts your resting metabolic rate and increases the amount of calories burned after a meal. Additionally, the added spice to your food makes you feel full and satisfied. So there will be no late night snacking, which can interrupt proper digestion.

 

Sleep and Relax:

As we sleep, our bodies use energy to move blood to repair muscles and tissues. They also secrete hormones, such as the human growth hormone, according to the National Sleep Foundation. Getting proper sleep can help your metabolism function at its optimum level. The less sleep you get, the more difficult it is to process carbs. When you are exhausted all the time, your body cannot function properly because it lacks sufficient energy. This means that your metabolism naturally lowers.

Sometimes you are stressed, which can inhibit proper sleep. It also means that your body is full of stress hormones that promote fat cell growth in the abdomen and increase food cravings. Take a load off and relax with some well-deserved “me time.” If you have trouble falling asleep, there are a few tricks that will help you enter a deep slumber. You can also make yourself an evening belly fat burner drink that will speed up your metabolism at night.

    Thanks for the question.I will answer the constipation question later. Here are five foods that will naturally speed up your metabolism. The more efficient your metabolism the more efficient your body will burn fat. Who doesn't want that?! 

    1: Grapefruit. Due to it's high alkalinity and high nutrient density it is a great food to rev up your metabolism. Have you heard of the grapefruit cleanse? It works! It's possible it works because you are consuming less calories and fat. However, I feel it also helps the body stay alkaline and allows your body to shed fat.

    2: Spices, especially cayenne pepper! All spices and herbs have an alkaline effect making them super foods for weight loss. One Canadian study found the use of spices enabled people to burn up to 1,000 more calories daily than those not incorporating spices into their diet. Cayenne pepper can raise metabolism up to 25 percent in another study.

    3: Apples: Apples have 80 calories in them. It takes nearly 100 to digest them. What does that mean for you? that you are getting a ton of nutrients while getting negative net calories. Sounds awesome to me! Also studies have shown that women who eat three apples a day burn more calories than those who didn't. Consider pears in the same category.

    4: Leafy greens including green tea. Green tea has special metabolism boosting powers. That why you see the green tea extracts everywhere. However, the extracts do not work. There is something special about using the whole food. You need synergy and so does your food. Spinach, kale, collards, etc are super healthy (what a revelation!!) metabolism amping powers. Obviously are negative calorie foods that go along way.

    5: Seeds! Add seeds to greens, smoothies, salads, or just about anywhere. All seeds are potent but the ones that we are talking about here are the tiny ones. Flax, chia, hemp, sesame, etc. They all have wonderful balances of essential fatty acids and in nature the best way to break down fat is with another fat.

    Q: Today makes day 9 of my FULL BODY DETOX (FBD). This morning I have an outbreak on my hand. I have been practicing telling myself I am Healing, but my job is stressful and yesterday I had a stressful day and this morning the outbreak on my right hand. Could this be part of my healing process? Can you suggest what I can do to alleviate the stress at work so this will not block my healing process of herpes? I am following the diet; however I have been kind of burnt out at times on the salads so I at least eat a salad and a bowl of steamed brown rice and frozen green peas that are steamed for 3 min. Is that considered following the diet? I still eat my fruit for breakfast daily, my salad for lunch and steamed broccoli (5min) and for dinner another salad, but for a few days I have eaten the rice and steam green peas. I basically want to know is it alright so if I eat it in the future.

    You have to learn to deal with your stress and stop reacting to it. Your subconscious mind is greatly blocked and therefore you have to realize your healing will come very slow. At a deep level you still believe herpes is incurable and your body is giving you this (despite the healing crisis of outbreaks on the hand). Your dietary deviation is understandable and not that bad but if you are tiring of salads opt for other things to eat.     Q: I started my full body detox program yesterday and this morning I stopped into Jamba Juice to get a wheatgrass shot. I also got a pomegranate juice, strawberry, peach and mango drink with a mega green tea boost...I drank maybe about 4 oz of the drink and trashed it. I had the worst headache I've ever experienced in my life! Was it from the sugar in the juice? They claim to be all-natural or was it from the fasting? Would you recommend this establishment for those seeking to get their body clean?

    Q: I gave my daughter 1 capsule of BRAIN TUNER every morning for about two weeks now. She now has a mild to average seizure every day instead of twice or three times a week. And since taken this Brain Tuner two weeks ago she has had two bad attacked. Normally she will get a bad attack every 2 - 3 weeks once. Most of her attack come during her sleep or during an afternoon nap, i.e. she will wake up from this sleep/nap and stay still for 30 sec - 1 minutes and the attack will come and her entire palms and feet will turn cold and heart starting to beat very fast. And once in a while if she does not get enough sleep she will get a hard attack out of the blue during the day otherwise most of the seizure attack during her sleep. Does this Brain Tuner stimulate her brain and causes the attack? What other remedy should I take to cut down this seizure?

    Sounds like the body (brain) is being greatly regulated, but if the BRAIN TUNER is speeding up the attack of seizures, abstain from using it and just give OXY-DROPS in glass or cup or water (20 drops per cup/glass). Normally a thing increases before it decreases but if this causes concern then abstain and try something else.

    Q: Thanks so much for all the wonderful info! I had a chance to look at some of your products and I like what I see. There is so much good stuff here. I just finished a 60 day sugar/fat cleanse. I basically cut out all diary, white sugar, flour, pasta, etc (I was already eating a veggie diet) I did very well with the cleanse and I want to keep it going. I lost almost 20 pounds, but I started eating a little differently, since I had some events for the past couple weeks and the weight started coming back on.     Q: This question is in regard to my 1 yr. old daughter. This morning she grabbed a boiling hot cup of water down from the kitchen table and now has a 2nd degree burn on her chest. She has a big open wound where the skin came off on her chest. I do not vaccinate my child and the nurses were trying to urge me to give her a tetanus shot which I refused.     Make sure you put aloe vera gel on the damaged skin of the child daily. Aloe is very calming and healing. To prevent infection, rub shea butter on the skin daily. Shea is very good for skin healing. Calendula gel (from a health food store) is also very therapeutic. The OZ OIL from Dherbs would be the best healing agent due to the oxygen in it.     Q: Hey Gary here are my challenge I'm 43 been trying to lose weight, I start on a program and stop once I don't see any results. I tried the Detox I think I lost about 5 pounds, I work at night and have a part time jobs seeing private patients in the day so my sleep pattern is little maybe I get 4 hrs of sleep I'm having problems getting this weight off.     Lets go through one thing at a time. Your overall schedule and lifestyle is not healthy and will likely sabotage your health goals. Receiving so little sleep will prevent major weight loss because your body cannot cleanse and cannot recharge. You must repay your energy debt before you can properly lose weight. Your body is always in a state of playing catch-up to the workload you are giving it. It stores fat because it doesn't have the

    Q: I see also that you recommend a complete diet with these programs. I am guessing its a vegan diet right? I wanted to ask something on that is coconut milk and coconut oils ok for that? I personally had a very hard time trying to eat that many vegetables and many ph balance vegans seem to think fruits aren?t good either. I eat that many vegetables one it tears me up the next day and two I just cant consume enough calories that way. I can try and make up for it by eating things like almonds but I eat to many almonds I get the same problem the next day. Now coconut milk (unsweetened) and a digestive enzyme works for me for picking up extra calories.... but I hear very conflicting information about coconut and its saturated fat content. Is it ok to use daily as a part of the diet for cleansing? And your oxy-drops are those the same as the drop for ph balancing water?? Or is it something different? I am wanting to start lifting weights as I need to put on some muscle and I?m wondering if its something that would be beneficial in combating muscle soreness by increased oxygen in the body.

    Q: I have obstructive sleep apnea and I sleep with a CPAP machine. I'm doing the full body detox. On the third night while taking the ACTIVATED CHARCOAL, I woke up in the middle of the night from a dream that my head was full of air and was about to explode. I took the CPAP mask off and I haven't taking the activated charcoal since. I believe my throat collapsed, however the first night using it I slept well. Please let me know your opinion regarding the "Abgone" Extra Strength pill that reportedly promotes pot belly loss (the one issue I continue to confront).     Q: Good morning. I tried the WEIGHT RELEASE CLEANSE AND REGIMEN and followed the diet. I must say that I am amazed at how good I feel. Energetic and focused but alas, I only lost 3 pounds in the 3 weeks. I am 5'5 and currently at 181 pounds. My body is extremely resistant to weight loss. I have done several different types of detox including the IZO juice cleanse in the last year and had not lost weight. I don't even seem to respond to a very low calorie diet.     This means that your body focused on another area that was of more importance than weight release. your mind wanted weight reduction but your body intelligence focused on something else. Go with the flow of the body intelligence and trust it. You apparently have an energetic block that prevents you from physically releasing weight (since you've tried other programs). Consider scheduling a consultation so we can get at the energetic/emotional root of your problem. Simply stop worrying about "losing" weight. Focus on what you desire (to see yourself in the size you desire). Don't focus on what you don't want (i.e. to lose weight).

    Q: I love to drink water, but I like to drink hot water you know boiling water slightly cooled. Is there a benefit, or disadvantage to this compared to drinking room temperature water? Secondly, the water I drink is boiled water. Alkaline water is not a privilege most Kenyans have. If 56% of the population is living below poverty line you do the math. So the water I drink is tap water, that I boil to make it safe for drinking. When I get to work I have Alkaline water as my work place provides me with that provision. I think this is detailed enough for you to get the picture and help. Once again (I love you) in Swahili for spreading the gospel!

    Q: I'm doing the Full Body Cleanse and I have a few questions about it: I get tired of drinking just the distilled water and I'd like to drink the herbal teas, but I don't like it by itself. Would it mess things up to add a pack or two of Splenda to my tea or maybe honey? I can't stand the salads with the olive oil or apple cider vinegar or the lemon juice as dressing and it makes me gag. I have To have some sort of salad dressing. What kind would be suitable? Do I look for sugar-free? Or organic and natural? I found one that is organic and natural, but it has 3 grams of sugar in it. Without eating all my whole grained breads and other fiber, I haven't had much of a bowel movement in 3 days, should I wait a while yet? (I had surgery on my bowels and always had to take fiber tablets and eat lots of grains to get my bowels to move.) I haven't done the enemas yet, (low on money) should I try that? Or should I resume my fiber tablets I normally take? Any type of fiber I could add to my fruit smoothies in the morning? I want to also do the female cleanse.     1. Instead of splenda, use agave, stevia, or grade b maple syrup as a sweetener.

    2. In re Salad Dressing, an organic and natural one is great. You can also check our website for salad dressing recipes.

    3. The fiber pills are not part of the cleanse, so we wouldn't advise those. Fruit is you best choice of fiber so look into eating more papaya, mango, figs, etc. And yes, colonics (and enemas) would greatly help you - undoubtedly!
