6 Green Smoothies To Help You Detox And Lose Weight

fit-woman-with-smoothie

Green smoothies, for some reason, are intimidating to some people. Maybe they think these smoothies will taste like grass or that they are categorized as being “too healthy.” While some green smoothies can be intense in flavor, there are a lot of flavor combinations that are absolutely delicious. And guess what? Most of these green smoothies can help you naturally detox and promote healthy weight loss.

What Makes It A Detox Smoothie?

The simple answer is the ingredients. Different ingredients have various cleansing properties. Chard, for example, helps to reduce overall inflammation in the body and can keep bowel movements regular. Because chard helps you get rid of waste and toxins, it ultimately helps you detox your body. Adding pineapple can promote healthy digestion and adding ginger can help reduce water retention. These smoothies are typically green because the leafy greens have a dominant color over the other ingredients.

Below are some great detox smoothies that are very simple to make. All you have to do for each recipe is combine all the ingredients in a blender, blend away, and enjoy. Let us know how some of these smoothies worked out for you.

Q: First of all hello and thank you for the FULL BODY DETOX. I completed the full detox August 5, 08 and found it extremely beneficial, again, thank you. Please let me know your opinion regarding the "Abgone" Extra Strength pill that reportedly promotes pot belly loss (the one issue I continue to confront). I exercise, I do yoga and I jog four times weekly 3 miles. Never the less I still have a "pot belly". I contacted "Biotech Research" and was advised that this is an all natural product. The ingredients are said to be Vitamin C, Zinc, Chromium Polynitic, Phofphatidylserine, Clabcaa, Dandelion Powder, 99% Caffeine, Green Tea Extract, The capsule is made of soybean, beeswax, gelatin, glycerin and red dye #40. Please respond at your earliest convenience.

    A:

That product ABGONE is crap due to the ingredients. No product is your solution, but the mind (thoughts, attitude), diet, lifestyle, etc. Stop worrying about the pot belly and focus on your desired state. Only see your results in your mind and you will attract the results on the material plane. Please read through some of our articles, beloved!

    A:

The literature clearly states ONLY RAW FOODS (please see the article "WHAT IS RAW FOODS" in our articles section). You can make your own smoothies or purchase them. Your choice!

Q: Re: Daily Regimen for Weight Loss, Inflammation, and Staying Regular. Hello, I used the full detox and loved it. I lost 15 lbs and would like to continue using something natural to help with the weight loss. Also, quite honestly I loved the ease of the bm's. Even before I began the detox, I have limited my carb intake and it is almost painful to go to the bathroom now and laxatives can be very harsh on the stomach. So, if you could please recommend a daily regimen of dherbs that I can take that would be greatly appreciated. By the way - though I enjoyed the healthy regimen, I can not do salads everyday so don't even suggest it! LOL Thank You! Weight Loss Inflamation

A: Congrats on your success with the cleanse, we're happy to hear that you enjoyed it. If you're looking to stop inflammation within the body, continue to recondition your bowels and lose additional weight it would be best for you to cleanse again. It's safe to do the cleanses back to back. A lot of foods contribute inflammation and not being regular in regards to the bowels. If you keep a balanced diet you'll be able to achieve your goals. Raw food doesn't just mean salads. The main purpose for the raw food diet was to benefit from the foods and to give your body a break from the foods it’s accustom to. You’re giving your body everything that it NEEDS. Most people are successful with the cleanse and the diet when you open yourself up to the change. The diet was not intended to be a challenge, it's to benefit from live foods that help your body. If you decide to cleanse again, we suggest embracing the diet and trying new types of raw meals.

Q: I just ordered the FULL BODY DETOX and I know there's a dietary regimen that I will have to follow. I was wondering if you would approve of a protein shake that consist of (raw hemp protein powder, raw almond butter, sea salt, flax seed, 100% young coconut water & meat inside the coconut, raw carob powder,) (optional soy or rice milk or soy or rice cream)

    A:

Doesn't sound like it will mess up your FULL BODY DETOX. Go for it! But leave out the rice/soy cream! The rice milk is okay (but it is processed/cooked)!

Q: I'm doing the Full Body Cleanse and I have a few questions about it: I get tired of drinking just the distilled water and I'd like to drink the herbal teas, but I don't like it by itself. Would it mess things up to add a pack or two of Splenda to my tea or maybe honey? I can't stand the salads with the olive oil or apple cider vinegar or the lemon juice as dressing and it makes me gag. I have To have some sort of salad dressing. What kind would be suitable? Do I look for sugar-free? Or organic and natural? I found one that is organic and natural, but it has 3 grams of sugar in it. Without eating all my whole grained breads and other fiber, I haven't had much of a bowel movement in 3 days, should I wait a while yet? (I had surgery on my bowels and always had to take fiber tablets and eat lots of grains to get my bowels to move.) I haven't done the enemas yet, (low on money) should I try that? Or should I resume my fiber tablets I normally take? Any type of fiber I could add to my fruit smoothies in the morning? I want to also do the female cleanse. Is it ok to do that immediately after I finish the full body cleanse or should I wait for a little while? Thank you for all your help, I feel much better than I did before and I just started this detox a week ago, lost 10 pounds, too, woohoooooo! Thank you

    A:

    1. Instead of splenda, use agave, stevia, or grade b maple syrup as a sweetener.

    2. In re Salad Dressing, an organic and natural one is great. You can also check our website for salad dressing recipes.

    3. The fiber pills are not part of the cleanse, so we wouldn't advise those. Fruit is you best choice of fiber so look into eating more papaya, mango, figs, etc. And yes, colonics (and enemas) would greatly help you - undoubtedly!

    4. You can do the Female Cleanse right after you finish detoxing. There's no need to wait!

Q: I'm taking the FULL BODY DETOX and I am noticing that I am extremely bloated and a lot of gas. I've taken this product before and don't remember any of this. Also my urine output is decreased from normal I drink a gallon of water a day? I drink the distilled water I was unable to find alkaline water.

    A:

It's your body that has been through something, not the herbs. Your colon is speaking to you. Don't worry! Just keeping detoxing! Distilled water is good for detoxing!

Q: Which are the best fruits and vegetables that promote weight loss during the detox and should the nuts be excluded? Do I need a combination of protein, carbohydrates and fats in order to lose substantially and if so, are there fruits and vegetables in these categories and is there possibly a limit to certain ones?

    A:

All fruits and vegetables help to tone you to the weight you desire. Why exclude nuts? Weight comes from meat, dairy products, refined products, etc. Not natural foods! Don't worry about protein, carbs, etc. It creates confusion! Real food doesn't cause problems. Let all the dietary confusion go and you will be fine!

Q: I am in need of cleansing my body and weight removal! (Removal and not loss because I don't want to find it again)! I need to remove about 80 pounds of unhealthy weight from my body and would like to do so in a natural way. I looked at both your Female Cleanse and the Full Body Cleanse, but don't know which is a better option for me to follow right now? I eat a lot of organic foods, I juice (some) but need to increase my water intake (A LOT). I don't drink much soda at all and when I do it is organic carbonated lemonade. I realize carbonated drinks are not good for us and limit how much I drink. My body lets me know when I have eaten something that is not good for me by causing my hands and feet to swell. To reduce this I drink water. I am allergic to wheat and try to stay away from it as much as possible. I have few ailments and have started working out again (cardio and weight training). I also looked at your weight loss products, but thought I should maybe detox first. What do you think? Any assistance you can offer on your products and which ones I should take is of great appreciation.

A: The best thing for you is the Full Body Cleanse. The Full Body Cleanse will allow you to remove unwanted weight, while also optimizing your entier body so that you can maintain that weight and live a healthier lifestyle.

Q: I recently purchased the FULL BODY DETOX and ANTI-VIRAL CLEANSE AND REGIMEN. I totally understand that healing is holistic and that changes must occur in diet, lifestyle, and only positive thinking will result in optimal health. I am noticing balding on the right side of my head. Of all the hair care products provided by dherbs.com, I was curious to know if using any of the dherbs.com hair herbs would affect the detox/cleansing regime? If not which would be the most effective in assisting me with hair loss? (Due to financial limitations I can't afford to purchase them all because I just purchased an alkaline water machine that set a brother back)Aside from performing the anti-viral cleanse regime. I eat plenty of cilantro and parsley, drink half my body weight in alkaline water daily, and eliminate stressors out of my life. I was interested in knowing what other follow up actions can I take to help assist me in overcoming this trial (virus) that has changed my life for the better.

    A:

You have the right attitude and spirit! Kudos to you. For the hair inquiry, you can drink the HAIR-SKIN-NAILS TEA during your detox. In re additional pointers, work on your mind-reprogramming it. Use daily affirmations! Reinvent yourself. Meditate! Perform yoga! perform the "SEA SALT SOAKS" daily! Keep getting knowledge! Just be creative and follow!

Q: I am sensitive to herbal supplements like spirulina, green tea and gingseng; they cause my heart to race. I would love to do the FULL BODY DETOX but see some of these herbs are used in the products associated with the detox. What would you suggest I do in this case?

    A:

You may have problems with herbs individually but our herbs are BALANCED due to the combination and so you wouldn't have a problem with the FULL BODY DETOX (because no one individual herbs stands out in a formula).

Q: When looking at the Food Combining Chart I was wondering if smoothies are not a violation of all of the "recommendations." If it is suggested that certain items not be combined, how can smoothies actually be "healthy" to our bodies aside from the absolute nutrition they provide? Although I make them all the time, are we not potentially setting ourselves up for trouble? Just wondering. Thanks in advance for your expertise.

    A:

    Hi! Thanks for the question.

The food combining chart is a suggestion for "optimal" digestion. It suggests we should eat mono meals optimally. This is often impossible and there is no evidence scientifically for this method. I am not sure how it would be studied anyway.

It is considered best to try to adhere to the rules to the best of your ability. However, mixing fruits and veggies as in a green smoothie is absolutely fine. The benefits of the nutrition you receive will out weigh any digestive disturbance that may occur. Feel safe to have green smoothies in your diet and cleanse.

    Hope this answers your question,

Q: Today makes day 9 of my FULL BODY DETOX (FBD). This morning I have an outbreak on my hand. I have been practicing telling myself I am Healing, but my job is stressful and yesterday I had a stressful day and this morning the outbreak on my right hand. Could this be part of my healing process? Can you suggest what I can do to alleviate the stress at work so this will not block my healing process of herpes? I am following the diet; however I have been kind of burnt out at times on the salads so I at least eat a salad and a bowl of steamed brown rice and frozen green peas that are steamed for 3 min. Is that considered following the diet? I still eat my fruit for breakfast daily, my salad for lunch and steamed broccoli (5min) and for dinner another salad, but for a few days I have eaten the rice and steam green peas. I basically want to know is it alright so if I eat it in the future.

    A:

You have to learn to deal with your stress and stop reacting to it. Your subconscious mind is greatly blocked and therefore you have to realize your healing will come very slow. At a deep level you still believe herpes is incurable and your body is giving you this (despite the healing crisis of outbreaks on the hand). Your dietary deviation is understandable and not that bad but if you are tiring of salads opt for other things to eat. We list a few raw foods alternative recipes in our "ALTERNATIVE DIET AND LIFESTYLES MANUAL" e-book available for download. Check it out!

Q: I am interested in starting the Full Body Detox program. At this time, I would like to know which program is best for me. At current, I have started removing things from my diet as of 2 weeks ago (pork, chicken, red meat, I'm trying with the fish but it's hard!) I am not eating cheese but I still eat yogurt and every now and then I will eat a boiled egg (egg whites). I have removed soda from my diet, no coffee, I drink herbal or green tea, pomegranate juice or orange juice and I drink filtered water (I have a countertop filter that I change every 6 months and the Brita pitcher that I change every 2 months). Along with the supplement, is there an eating plan that you can suggest for me? I am eating more fruits and vegetables, but I would welcome suggestions on certain foods that I can eat while I begin my cleansing.

    A:

The Full Body Detox kit comes with a prescribed dietary plan and notifies a person what they can and cannot eat during the detox.

Q: Thought I would let you know about my experience with Dherbs FULL BODY DETOX system. I am a healthy 33 year old woman who 5'4" 170. I changed my diet back in March in an effort to lose weight and it has been working. I heard about your product on the Russ Parr Moring show and had visited your site contemplating ordering. I consulted with my mom who is HEAVY into herbs and alternative healing. She and I read your product ingredients together and she confirmed that the listed herbs are very good cleansing agents and should be safe. I ordered a few weeks ago to assist in my weight loss but actually started the detox on Monday Sept 1st. The first day went well and I saw results immediately. The second day produced results also but almost immediately after taking the 7pm pills I had a pressure that moved around in my head. I did not hurt but it was different from anything that I have ever felt. Then my face began to tighten up and twitch. These effects lasted for about 5 minutes. The next day, Sept 3rd, I did not use the pills and was fine. This morning Sept 4th I took the 7am pills within minutes I experienced the same symptoms. After consulting my doctor and my mother I decided to cease the system because it seemed that my nerves were being affected. What do you think caused it and how do I get my money back?

    A:

I can't and won't spend a lot of time in this response because it's so common and too much information on it already exists on the site (i.e. Detox Trouble-Shooter, article "Healing Crisis" "Is This Normal?) 1. Please read the article "HEALING CRISIS". 2. Please read the article "IS THIS NORMAL?" 3. Please read "DETOX TROUBLESHOOTING" ("Twitching"). 4. Please read FAQ ("FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS PAGE") near bottom of the page (which explains that there are no refunds for healing crisis symptoms). Healing crisis is POSITIVE and is a sign much needed healing and cleansing is taking place. Clearly you have damaged nerves that really needed addressing and it's taking place but your fear predicated upon ignorance is stopping the process. You experience healing crisis and panic and want to stop the healing and desire a refund. We don't refund for misunderstandings, fear, social programming, etc. Healing crisis don't last forever! Many people experience healing crisis but still stick with the program. Read some of the testimonials on the site ("TESTIMONIAL PAGE").

Q: I just recently completed the FULL BODY DETOX and have developed a taste for distilled water, with two additional gallons of water left. Are there any harmful effects of drinking distilled water over a prolonged period of time?

    A:

Yes, it can leech vital minerals from your body. Spring water is better! But you should be fine finishing the 2 gallons.

Q: Hi, thanks for giving people like me some hope that we can all be healed. I recently bought the FULL BODY DETOX and I see where I need to drink distilled water for the first 2 weeks. I am unable to find distilled water here (Jamaica) but I see deionized water is that the same thing as distilled water?

    A:

It's not the same water but it will do!

Q: I'm taking the FULL BODY DETOX what does the ACTIVATED CHARCOAL do for the body? it does not say in the book. I want to get more alkaline water. I usually had distilled in the house. Q: Just received my Full Body Detox kit and had a few questions. 1. What is alkaline water? Is there a specific brand you recommend? 2. Is it necessary to take the detox capsules with food or juices (raw, of course)?

    A:

Please read our article on "Alkaline water" on our site under "Articles."

I recommend you take the capsules after eating something solid (like raw fruit).

Q: I read the food chart for the FULL BODY DETOX. Is it ok to eat the cream of wheat while detoxing? I'm confused because on the food chart it mentioned alot of different foods, but it tell you the best thing to do is a all raw food diet such as salads and fruit, smoothies... I also plan to do the ANTI-VIRAL CLEANSE AND REGIMEN right after the FULL BODY DETOX and that requires a all raw food diet as well. So that means 2 months of strictly raw foods right? :( Its tough but I am determined too get rid of this hsv1 & hsv 2

    A:

I suggest you read the article â€WHAT IS RAW FOODS†as it will help you to understand what to eat and what not to eat on the FULL BODY DETOX. Yes, all raw foods for 2 months (to the best of your ability, Beloved). YOU CAN DO IT, BELOVED! Did you read our "GENITAL HERPES" article?
