Hydration is an important part of life. More than that, hydration is essential for attaining optimum health. Water can help you maintain a healthy digestive system, a better metabolism, healthier skin, and it helps you efficiently eliminate toxins. For some reason, though, people seem to have a hard time drinking the right amount of water every day. They turn to sodas, sugary juices, energy drinks, and other beverages instead, but those don’t hydrate you!
What Are Detox Waters?
Detox waters are trending in the modern health world. The reason they have been dubbed “detox waters” and not “filtered water infused with real fruits, herbs, and vegetables” is because the latter doesn’t sounds as catchy. That’s just a made-up reason. By adding things like strawberries, mint, cucumber, pineapple, basil, or blueberries to clean water and drinking it, you absorb the benefits of the added ingredient(s), and that helps to detox your body.
Enjoy the following detox water recipes to boost your metabolism and help out your overall health.
#1: Morning Lemon Detox
We love lemon water here at Dherbs. This is probably the most basic of detox waters, but it can help you flush toxins from your body and nourish your skin. Lemons also help to inhibit the deposition of metabolic waste. Add a few slices to your water to reap the benefits.
#2: Raspberry Lime Detox
All you have to do for this recipe is mix 2 tablespoons of fresh raspberries and one lime (sliced) in one quart of filtered water. Let the water absorb the nutrients for thirty minutes. Drinking this can help to stimulate the digestive system and keep your kidneys, liver, and colon healthy.
#3: Blackberry Mint Detox
First of all, the blackberry mint combo is great for anything. Mix ½ cup of blackberries and a handful of mint in one quart of water. Since blackberries are loaded with antioxidants, they help to fight free radicals in the body. Mint also stimulates the production of bile and helps to burn fat.
#4: Strawberry Honeydew Melon Detox
You’ll need to halve 10 strawberries and add them to a glass of water with a few melon slices. This is a great drink to help hydrate your skin. Both the strawberries and melon are rich in vitamins and anti-inflammatory properties, so get to drinking!
#5: Apple Cinnamon Detox
Cut up two medium apples and two cinnamon sticks and add them to a pitcher with two quarts of filtered water. You can fill it up multiple times, too! Cinnamon is actually a great spice to help you lose weight, but both cinnamon and apples help to speed up your metabolism.
#6: Watermelon Detox
Watermelon can actually help you stay hydrated because it is primarily water. Add about one cup of watermelon cubes to one quart of filtered water. Drink this to help flush toxins from the body. Add a little bit of the rind to your water to help smooth out digestion.
#7: Grapefruit Rosemary Detox
Get a few pieces of grapefruit slices and one sprig of rosemary and add them to two quarts of water. Let this detox water infuse in the fridge overnight. The grapefruit helps with overall detoxification, while the rosemary has tons of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that work to relieve the body of stress and pollution damage.
