A Hydrating Face Mask To Soothe Skin & Reduce Redness

A Hydrating Face Mask To Soothe Skin & Reduce Redness

When you buy a face mask at the store that is supposed to reduce acne, there are normally a lot of ingredients, some of which you can’t even pronounce. Maybe putting more chemicals on your skin isn’t the right way to go if you want clearer, healthier-looking skin.

This mask only has three ingredients, and they are all natural. All you have to do is go to your local grocery store and pick up the ingredients. If you can get them fresh from your yard, that is even better! Here is a little more information about how each ingredient helps your skin.

Aloe

Aloe is almost magical when it comes to soothing sunburns or eczema. If it helps those skin problems, it can only make normal skin even healthier. Aloe vera contains vitamins C & E, beta-carotene, and amino acids that help to hydrate your skin. Go for fresh aloe because the store-bought aloe vera gel often contains alcohol, which can dry out your skin.

Parsley

Parsley has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and it helps to naturally brighten your skin. It also has a wide variety of nutrients that work to balance oil production.

Cucumbers

Because cucumbers are about 97% water, they work to hydrate your skin. They also contain ascorbic and caffeic acids, which help to reduce swelling and soothe dry skin. Finally, cucumbers help to balance the pH level of your skin!

What You’ll Need

  • 3 inches of fresh cucumber, washed
  • ¼ cup aloe vera (preferably fresh)
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley

Instructions

  • Place all of the ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend until you get a smooth mixture. Apply this to your face, avoiding the eyes, and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Remove this mask with a cool washcloth and moisturize with some organic coconut oil.
