A Simple Plane Exercise To Increase Mobility

Traveling is something a lot of people look forward to and it’s almost mandatory during the holiday season. Whether you are going out of the country or a few states away, traveling is exciting…and you get to leave your worries and stress at home! The one thing that is never fun, unless you splurge and are flying first class, is the actual plane ride. We are not discounting the miracle of flight, but we are saying that sitting in a narrow plane seat is not the most comfortable place to be.

 

Plane seats are by no means roomy, and you have to minimize your movements to avoid disturbing the person or people next to you. You don’t have to let your body get stiff and your back doesn’t need to be sore because we have a plane exercise that can be done from the confines of your seat. Well, you can do this exercise whether you are on a plane or not!

 

Step #1: Sit up with your back straight and feet flat on the floor. Try to feel the weight of your feet against the floor. Rest your hands on your knees and gently rock back and forth until your weight is evenly dispersed between your sit bones. This is the starting position.

Step #2: Roll behind and in front of your sit bones, alternating between these two positions four times. Rest on your sit bones after the last one.

Step #3: It may sound odd, but move your belly back and forth, toward the back of the seat and the seat in front of you. Go back and forth four times before returning to the starting position.

Step #4: Move your ribs back and forth just like you did with your stomach. Go back and forth four times and return to the starting position.

Step #5: Lift your chest and then collapse your chest four times before returning to the starting position.

Step #6: Round your entire spine and roll towards your sit bones. Finally, let your spine expand forward and roll in front of your sit bones. Repeat this four times and then return to the starting position. You have just completed the exercise routine.

 

You don’t have to follow this routine to a “T” because you can incorporate different movements, positions, or body parts that you like. If you feel that dropping your neck down and then rolling it back will benefit you, do it! Travel safely and avoid getting stiff in that airplane seat.

    Q: My husband is experiencing severe lower back pain, and numbness in his leg. He has already had a series of epidural shots in his spine, and the pain is still there. He has been a body builder, and a healthy eater in the past. He is retired Army and thinks alot of the pain is due old injuries. I do not see any herbs for severe back pain. Being honest too, what he is experiencing is the effect of his cause (what he did to his body under the guise of what he thought was the right thing to do in bodybuilding, and eating what he thought was healthy food). Detox first! But if he can't give up the drugs, I wouldn't recommend detoxing as herbs and drugs don't mix!

    Q: For several years, I have a pins and needles feeling all over including burning. I feel light- headed frequently and feels like I would fall to the floor if I don't concentrate on keeping myself steady. I have lower back pain (center) that does not relent. My foot feels like there is current running in my feet all the time and my pinkie on my right hand feel numb. My neuro tested me for MS and it came back negative.     Q: Today was my first day of Full Body Cleanse, but I only made it through formula 1. After taking formula one, I started feeling dizzy and nauseous. I vomited a few times, and then I tried to eat something before taking formula two. Before I could take the pills, I began to vomit again. This was three hours ago, and I still haven't stopped.     Q: Approximately two weeks ago, I developed dry, itchy patches on my back.     Q: I was diagnosed with lupus 2 years ago and looking back, I see how I opened myself to contract the dis-ease. I have been symptom and medication free since October 2007, due to a major lifestyle change. STRESSFREE!!!     Q: I have a 13 year Rottweiler who is having a lot of trouble with his hind legs. A couple of weeks ago he slipped and fell, and couldn't walk because he couldn't put any weight on his back legs. I took him to the vet and they did an x-ray that showed that he had 2 herniated discs in his spine which were cutting of the nerves to his back legs. They said surgery is not an option for a dog of that size and age so they gave him a steroid shot and medication to give to him every day, and said if that didn't work I should probably put him down. Luckily the medication worked because he's up and about. His back legs are still a little weak but he does get up and move around pretty decent when he needs to. My question is if any of the pet products you have will help. I know the medication the vet gave is only a temporary solution and the vet told me that this is expected for a big dog at this age, but I would appreciate your input.

    Q: I'm on my 10th day of the Full body cleanse and I have only dropped like 5 pounds. When I go walking and come back to weigh myself. I see that I'm down like 3 lbs. But, when I weigh myself the next morning, I still only lost 5 pounds. I have lost my appetite completely. I eat fruits and a small salad other than that, I have no desire to eat.     Q: I am so impressed with your website and the level of great information you provide. The product list is very impressive as well. I have High Blood Pressure and have been on medication for a little over five years. I am 5'8" tall 167lbs. I'm in pretty good shape. I don't understand why I have HBP.     Q: I will be starting a fast for Ramadan in August. What suggestions do you have for cleansing during fasting? I do not eat meat except, fish 1-2 times a week. I've been having problems with gas after eating, even fruits or veggies. I usually have 2-3 bowel movements per day.     Exercise is great, but the healthy exercises include Pilates, yoga, tai-chi, qi chong, stretching, swimming, etc. Jogging is okay if on sand, dirt, or grass.     Q: Hi there, I never got yeast infections before but I had my first one in March of this year (2015) and have been suffering ever since. I was first treated with fluconazole and the infection went a way for a few weeks and then came back to which I was treated with another dose... again, it came back. I was treated with one more dose of the fluconazole- 3 pills every other day, I'm not sure the strength.... and of course, it came back.
