In astrology, in addition to the planets and signs, there exist the Houses. The planets tell us what is going on (activity-wise), the signs tell us how it’s going on, and the houses tell us where its going on.
In other words:
- Planets = What (signs) = How (houses) = Where.
The 12 Houses of the Zodiac correspond to the 12 Signs. Aries corresponds to the 1st House. Taurus corresponds to the 2nd House; Gemini corresponds to the 3rd House and so forth.
Virgo, the 6th House, is the Health House and deals with health, hygiene, work and service, and employees. The 6th House deals with health, amongst other things. In the 6th House, we will either have enhanced health or weakened health depending on how we think and live.
If we neglect ourselves, we’ll experience all kinds of diseases and disorders, especially the ones we are astrologically prone to. For example: if you’re a Pisces, the 6th House means you are more prone to foot, toe, and liver problems but if you are wise, when Pisces is in the 6th House you will be on watch for these body parts and take extra special care of them in the form of getting a pedicure, performing a foot detox, having reflexology perform, or performing a Liver Cleanse.
Anytime a planet is in the sign and/or house it rules, qualities (negative and positive) are greatly enhanced, usually two-fold. For example: Mercury governs Gemini and the 6th House. Because of this dynamic, there may be speech problems such as stuttering, as Mercury governs speech and communication.
Background
The planet that rules a particular sign also rules that same corresponding house. Because Venus rules Taurus and the 2nd House corresponds with Taurus, Venus also rules the 2nd House. But because Venus also rules Libra, which corresponds with the 7th House, Venus also rules the 7th House.
Some signs have two ruling planets, such as Scorpio, Pisces, and Capricorn.
At various stages or times throughout the year, our ruling planet and sign goes through all the houses of the Zodiac. In addition to all of us experiencing our ruling planet and sign in the various 12 Houses of the Zodiac, all of us have a particular sign that was in our 6th House at the time we are born and thus live our whole lives being prone to disease and injury because of this placement.

To find out what sign was in your 6th House at the time of your birth, you must start from your Rising or Ascendant sign, the sign on the cusp of the First House.
Start counting from the Rising or Ascendant sign or First House cusp counter-clockwise (right to left) six spaces. For example, if your Rising or Ascendant sign is Scorpio, you start counting at Scorpio (which would be in the First House since it is your Rising or Ascendant sign).

- Scorpio on the First House cusp = 1 (Aries)
- Sagittarius on the Second House cusp = 2 (Taurus)
- Capricorn on the Third House cusp = 3 (Gemini)
- Aquarius on the Fourth House cusp = 4 (Cancer)

- Aries on the Sixth House cusp = 6 (Virgo)
If Scorpio is your Rising sign, you have Aries in the 6th House of Health.
If you have Aries in the 6th House of Health you will be highly prone to headaches and mental or neurological problems, more so than the average or typical Aries.
If you are a Scorpio ascendant, you have Aries in the 6th House.
If you have Taurus in the 6th House of Health you will be highly prone to respiratory conditions (e.g. asthma, bronchitis), neck problems, thyroid problems (including weight problems), and throat problems, more so than the average and typical Taurus.
If you are a Sagittarius ascendant, you have Taurus in the 6th House.
If you have Gemini in the 6th House of Health you will be greatly prone to nervous system problems (e.g. bad nerves), shoulder problems, and blood disorders and thus skin disorders (as skin disorders denote blood disorders as the skin manifests the condition of the blood), more so than the average or typical Gemini.

If you have Cancer in the 6th House of Health you will be greatly prone to breast problems (men may suffer from gynecomastia) and stomach problems, more so than the average Cancer.
