Q: What's the best way to start on a vegan/raw food diet? I am not sure what to eat to make sure I would get a nutritious diet-you may not be able to go into that much detail but how can I get sample meal plans for breakfast, lunch and dinner incorporating this type of diet-perhaps there is somewhere on the web I find something like this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
If I do say myself, the best way to start a raw food diet is to be coached by me. I run a 6 month health coaching program that is 60-90 percent raw and 100 percent vegan/gluten free/ allergy free. Here are some other tips to get started.
2: Read books like "beauty detox solution" by snyder, "80/10/10" by Dr. Graham., or "The Paradigm diet" by Adam Dave
3: Start simple with breakfast. Always start your day with a green smoothie. read "Green smoothie revolution" by forget authors name at the moment. heh.
A sample meal plan would be.
Breakfast: Green smoothie
Bridge: raw bar, handful of nuts or seeds, or fruit
Lunch: Raw wraps made from collard greens. use a base of tahini, hummus, or nut butter. Fill with sprouts and colorful veggies
Bridge: raw bar, handful nuts or seeds, or fruit
Dinner: Raw pasta with a large salad

Q: I have a question. My son is 16 and got him detox just 2 days ago. He hasn't started it because he cannot do with school so I told him to wait for vacation and then start because he cannot handle the food diet. anyway, we are vegetarians, and was wondering if he has bad acne, would just the blood and lymph formula work for now until we start detox to take care of his acne. I also ordered that but thought I will start after the detox and he wants to clear his face sooner and detox with diet is impossible at that age and being in school unless he does not follow the diet? What do you think? Can you let me know? Please thanks.

Q: I want to start the raw food diet, but do not want to lose weight has i am under weight already. I need tips to gain or at least maintain my weight. I do lift weights as part of my exercise routine.

Losing "weight" on a raw foods diet is a definite probability. But the weight might be excess fat and water retention due to detoxing. By weight I am assuming you are talking about muscle. It is not that complicated to keep muscle while on a raw food diet. The Vegan Effect diet program I created is 60-90 percent raw. Raw before dinner if that helps. I allow myself one cooked meal a day. For the most part the diet is a Low fat/high carb/high fruit/high alkaline diet.
The most important thing to remember is getting enough calories. My athletes (including raw body builders) typically eat 1000 calories of fruit for breakfast in the form of a green smoothie. Usually post workout. You need to eat roughly 3000 calories to maintain or grow muscle mass. Some of my mass building athletes eat as much as 5000 calories. Albeit at a higher fat ratio than our standard 70/10/20 carb/fat/protein ratios.

Besides getting enough calories make sure you are getting around 20 grams of protein 5 times a day to maintain muscle mass. Sprouting beans, nut butters, seeds, and nuts help.

Q: My Doctor wants me to start using the Cholesterol medication, Zocor. He says my high cholesterol is due to genetics. I'm not crazy about the idea of using this medication that he says may affect my liver. I've tried lowering the 'bad' cholesterol with diet and exercise. What are my natural food options? Thanks! I'd recommend you start taking CHOLESTEROL BUSTER, ELECTRIC GREENS CELL FOOD, and INTESTINAL JANITOR (Fiber). Food-wise, all fruits and vegetables will help lower your cholesterol levels. Avoid meat and dairy products if your cholesterol levels are high.

Q: While doing a candida cleanse, it was told to me that I should be following a raw food diet full of fruits and vegetables. Fruits have high sugar content and can feed a candida overgrowth, as it is a well known fact that candida albicans thrive on sugar. How can I justify eating fruits high in sugar? A: Yes, when you have a candida issue it's best to avoid refined sugar. Sugar from a natural source like fruits should be consumed moderately. In your case it would be best to consume fruits mainly in the mornings for breakfast when your body maximizes on food the most, avoiding the ones that are very high in sugar.
Q: I'm going start the Full Body Detox then the Total Male Cleanse. After these I want to gain muscle mass. Somewhere between 10lbs to 15lbs. I'm about 6'0 and 177 @ the present time. Q: I see also that you recommend a complete diet with these programs. I am guessing its a vegan diet right? I wanted to ask something on that is coconut milk and coconut oils ok for that? I personally had a very hard time trying to eat that many vegetables and many ph balance vegans seem to think fruits aren?t good either. I eat that many vegetables one it tears me up the next day and two I just cant consume enough calories that way. I can try and make up for it by eating things like almonds but I eat to many almonds I get the same problem the next day. Now coconut milk (unsweetened) and a digestive enzyme works for me for picking up extra calories.... but I hear very conflicting information about coconut and its saturated fat content. Is it ok to use daily as a part of the diet for cleansing? And your oxy-drops are those the same as the drop for ph balancing water?? Or is it something different? The diet we recommend is vegan-based, and RAW FOODS. Fresh fruits, vegetables, raw nuts and seeds are ideal.

DHERBS: Eat your favorite fruit while monitoring your blood sugar level. It may take some time before your blood sugar levels are regulated and you can return to eating fruit. But try eating what fruits you like while monitoring your BS levels. Be intelligent and use common sense and trust your intuition here.

Q: Hi, I am a 59 yr old female who has diabetes and weighs aprox. 425 lbs. I also have Lymphedema along with a bad case of tendonitis in my left rotator cuff, as well as kidney disease. That being said, I guess I am a mess! I have tried loose weight and eat normal but after all these years I am asking myself, "what is normal"? I have been thinking about going on a raw food diet but, have no idea where to start! I know it includes salads but, I am sure I will get board quickly eating just that. I also am wondering what does one eat for breakfast other then fruit of which I have to be very careful of because I am a brittle diabetic and am on insulin. I am so tired of failing and want to succeed this time! I want to be able to walk and stand for long periods of time and be independent again. I do have an under-active thyroid and am currently taking 137 mic. of thyroid. Can you send me some information on an anti inflammatory, low protein,low carb. diet? Thank you.

Let's go through them one by one shall we? Lymph-edema is a build up of fluid. Your lymphatic system like your liver and kidney are your bodies garbage men. When toxicity gets to overwhelming your garbage men go on strike or are just overwhelmed. You should do a cleanse/detox and do exercises that stimulate the lymphatic system. The best would be a mini trampoline. Just 15 minutes a day goes far. Lympedema is healed by a high alkaline diet. Increasing greens and fruits while decreasing dairy, meat, alcohol, salt, and processed food.
Tendonitis can be healed also by an anti-inflammatory diet . Increasing berries and greens while decreasing dairy, meat, salt, and alcohol.
Thyroid can be repaired also by an alkaline diet and detox. You can find a thyroid support formula at dherbs.com.
Diabetes is reversed using a low fat raw vegan diet. In 30 days you can completely get off insulin if you cut out the fat and get on a high carb raw vegan diet. The only programs who are actually reversing diabetes are using the same protocol as my program. I do not do a low carb diet especially when reversing diabetes. None of the programs healing your condition do either. Diabetes is not a carb issue but a fat issue. Fat coats your cells and blocks the sugar insulin connection. A low carb diet is a high fat diet and will only manage your condition at best.

A typical detox raw food program looks like this
Green smoothie: 1 1/2- 2 cups water / 1 cup greens / 3-5 medium pieces of fruit blended.

Bridge: 2-3 medium sized fruits
Raw Wraps: collard greens as wraps/ tomato, cucumber, bell pepper / fresh herbs / Sauce (salsa/tahini/guacamole/ etc))

Raw pasta: Zuchini sliced with a potato peeler / veggies / Homemade pasta sauce made in blender
Snack: Sorbet: Blended frozen fruit in a blender

Q: I am very interested in Dherbs herbal formulas - they appear to be high quality, good formulas. I have a question for you. I eat a vegan diet, about 50% raw foods (sometimes more), get regular exercise, and love to spend time in nature. I am a generally healthy person who rarely gets sick.
