The real reason is because Kellogg recalled over 10,000 cases of Eggo waffles across 25 states because of a possible listeria contamination.
What is listeria, you ask? Listeria can be several bacteria that contaminate food. The bacteria usually live in soil, feces, or water. The most common foods that harbor the bacteria include deli meats, processed foods (EGGO!!!), and unpasteurized dairy products.
Sometimes, people may not experience any health symptoms when they ingest the bacteria. The bacteria can be fatal to children, the elderly, pregnant women, or people with weakened immune systems. It is dangerous for pregnant women because the bacteria can cause sudden death to the unborn baby, or induce a deathly infection days after birth.

If you really want waffles, you can make them yourself by buying a waffle maker and making a vegan batter with steel cut oats, gluten-free flour, olive oil, grade b maple syrup, baking powder, and homemade almond milk. Add a little pizzazz with some cinnamon, allspice, and fresh fruit for toppings.
Remember: homemade and fresh is always better than frozen and processed. Be wise and avoid these processed foods, which can contaminate your body.
