Eat These Foods To Naturally Cleanse Your Body

grapefruit-eyes-girl

Bloating, gas, or constipation is quite common in America, primarily because of how much junk food and processed ingredients people eat. While it is possible to eat foods that help naturally cleanse the body, they don’t really work if a dietary change is not made. Making the decision to eat healthier not only aids the natural cleansing process, but it also helps with weight loss, improved digestion, clearer skin, and a stronger immune system.

There are certain foods that benefit the liver, while other foods work to cleanse the lymphatic system or kidneys. As we mentioned before, these foods work best when they aren’t working through the built-up toxins from unhealthy foods. While we always advocate to cleanse the body at least twice a year, incorporate the following foods into your daily diet to aid the year-round cleansing process.

Cabbage:

Whether you like green or red cabbage, keep eating it because it contains sulforaphane, which helps eliminate toxins. Glutathione, which is an antioxidant that boosts liver function, is also abundant in cabbage. You can also eat sauerkraut (cabbage in its fermented form), to help promote healthy gut bacteria.

Citrus Fruit:

Regularly consuming lemons, oranges, limes, or grapefruit can help to naturally flush toxins from the body. Citrus fruits help to jump-start the enzymatic processes in the digestive tract, and they also work to cleanse the kidneys and liver. Adding pieces of citrus fruits to your water is a great way to constantly reap their benefits. Their alkalinity also helps restore the body’s pH balance.

Garlic:

Garlic is a great cleansing food because it stimulates the production of detoxification enzymes in the liver. These enzymes help to filter the toxins from the digestive system. Start adding garlic to your meals, or add it to juices or smoothies for the raw benefits.

Leafy Greens:

It’s important to eat your green vegetables, and not just because your mother said so. Leafy greens help to boost chlorophyll levels in the digestive tract, which aids with natural cleansing. Chlorophyll helps remove toxic metals, herbicides, pesticides, and other environmental toxins from the body. Because greens are versatile, you can consume them in the form of salads, smoothies, soups, juices, or dips.

Green Tea:

Containing antioxidants that help boost liver performance, green tea is also rich in catechins, which work to fight the growth of cancer cells. Green tea can help to naturally wash away toxins as it passes through the digestive tract.

Beets:

Beets are rich in magnesium, iron, and vitamin C, which helps to fight free radicals. The fiber in beets helps to increase the amount of antioxidant enzymes in the liver. Additionally, beets can help the liver and gallbladder eliminate excess bile.

Q: I am in need of cleansing my body and weight removal! (Removal and not loss because I don't want to find it again)! I need to remove about 80 pounds of unhealthy weight from my body and would like to do so in a natural way. I looked at both your Female Cleanse and the Full Body Cleanse, but don't know which is a better option for me to follow right now? I eat a lot of organic foods, I juice (some) but need to increase my water intake (A LOT). I don't drink much soda at all and when I do it is organic carbonated lemonade. I realize carbonated drinks are not good for us and limit how much I drink. My body lets me know when I have eaten something that is not good for me by causing my hands and feet to swell. To reduce this I drink water. I am allergic to wheat and try to stay away from it as much as possible. I have few ailments and have started working out again (cardio and weight training). I also looked at your weight loss products, but thought I should maybe detox first. What do you think? Any assistance you can offer on your products and which ones I should take is of great appreciation.

A: The best thing for you is the Full Body Cleanse. The Full Body Cleanse will allow you to remove unwanted weight, while also optimizing your entier body so that you can maintain that weight and live a healthier lifestyle.

Q: Is there such thing as, cleansing too much? From May - July I did a 40 day cleanse. The cleanse was pretty much ridding my diet of refined sugar, flour, alcohol, and animal product for much of the time. I just recently finished the Total Body Cleanse, and will be finishing my series of cleanses with the Total Woman's Cleanse. I personally feel fine, but people keep warning me about over cleansing. Also, bringing up the issue of your body being stripped of the good bacteria (along with the bad). But, I"ve taken probiotic pills (1-2) virtually everyday througout all of my cleanses. Should I be concerned with overcleansing? After this initial year of hard core cleansing, I plan to cleanse maybe once or twice a year. What are you thoughts on probiotics? Like I mentioned, I am taking pills. But I'd like to find foods that provide all that I need so I don't have to take pills.

    A:

Many people are concerned about what happens to the beneficial intestinal flora after colonics are performed. Personally, I think many people put too much energy into worrying about something so inconsequential. If you're really worried about the beneficial intestinal flora after your colonic, you could always take a few capsules of acidophilus (acidophilus bifidus) or a liquid form of acidophilus (dairy-free, of course). I have never taken an acidophilus product after a colonic. I know Nature and my body too well. I know that my body naturally produces everything sold by man in a bottle, and that is purchased from a health food store, including beneficial flora or bacteria. I simply drink a minimum of 4 ounces of vegetable juice after my colonic sessions. If you're into carrot juice, carrot juice is just as effective as acidophilus in restoring good bacteria in the intestines. Juiced cantaloupe is even better than carrot juice in restoring the beneficial flora. Other natural substances that will help the body to repopulate beneficial flora or good bacteria in the intestines include: Blue Green algae, Spirulina, Chlorella, Irish Moss, Kelp, Bladderwrack, Dulse, Ginger, Cloves, Cayenne, Black Walnut Hull, and Carrot powder. Stop listening to these naysayers and keep doing YOU! You're on the right path!

Q: Thank you for always answering my questions. I have about two more. Okay, I'm currently living overseas where I'm limited on raw fresh foods (vegetables and fruits). I want to do the detox but I'm concerned that I won't have everything as far as raw food to be successful. I have access to basics (apples, oranges, bananas, tomatoes, avocados, melons, lettuce, cabbage, bean spouts, carrots, celery, peppers, green beans, peas, bagged nuts,) but nothing exotic by any means. Then I was told to safely eat some of the food in the local economy that we should wash it with a 5% bleach solution (is that safe...and if on the detox I'm thinking that would be a no go). Two questions?Given the mentioned availability of raw foods could I be able to successfully complete the detox (I don't have an issue with eating the same things over and over again) and two what can I do to clean local produce so that its safe for consumption? Apparently part of the issue is that they use human feces to fertilize. Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response

    A:

Yes, it seems you have enough raw food available to you to complete the cleanse.

In order to clean local produce, rinse thoroughly with apple cider vinegar to "disinfect" it. If apple cider vinegar is unavailable, just use water.

Q: I am interested in starting the Full Body Detox program. At this time, I would like to know which program is best for me. At current, I have started removing things from my diet as of 2 weeks ago (pork, chicken, red meat, I'm trying with the fish but it's hard!) I am not eating cheese but I still eat yogurt and every now and then I will eat a boiled egg (egg whites). I have removed soda from my diet, no coffee, I drink herbal or green tea, pomegranate juice or orange juice and I drink filtered water (I have a countertop filter that I change every 6 months and the Brita pitcher that I change every 2 months). Along with the supplement, is there an eating plan that you can suggest for me? I am eating more fruits and vegetables, but I would welcome suggestions on certain foods that I can eat while I begin my cleansing.

    A:

The Full Body Detox kit comes with a prescribed dietary plan and notifies a person what they can and cannot eat during the detox.

Q: I read the food chart for the FULL BODY DETOX. Is it ok to eat the cream of wheat while detoxing? I'm confused because on the food chart it mentioned alot of different foods, but it tell you the best thing to do is a all raw food diet such as salads and fruit, smoothies... I also plan to do the ANTI-VIRAL CLEANSE AND REGIMEN right after the FULL BODY DETOX and that requires a all raw food diet as well. So that means 2 months of strictly raw foods right? :( Its tough but I am determined too get rid of this hsv1 & hsv 2

    A:

I suggest you read the article â€WHAT IS RAW FOODS†as it will help you to understand what to eat and what not to eat on the FULL BODY DETOX. Yes, all raw foods for 2 months (to the best of your ability, Beloved). YOU CAN DO IT, BELOVED! Did you read our "GENITAL HERPES" article?

Q: What Are Some Natural Sweet Treats (Junk Foods) I can Consume? Under free will you can consume what you like, but healthier products are best. You will find plenty of "healthier" snack, treat, and junk foods at good health food stores such as Whole Foods Market, PCC Natural Food Stores, Erewhon, Trader Joes, Natural Grocers, New Frontiers, etc. Just make sure to abstain from salt, sugar, and other harmful chemicals in the products you buy. We list many companies of alternative foods and products (and their website addresses) in our ALTERNATIVE DIET AND LIFESTYLES MANUAL.

Q: I just purchased the FULL BODY DETOX and I have a question. I work a full time job (office work) and a part time job (cleaning). I'm worried if I will be able to work while doing the detox, I also workout (weight lifting) and with eating raw foods and no cooked food, I'm wondering if I will make it the 3 weeks doing this. I want to detox my body but I'm wondering if I can eat anything else (fish, chicken, baked of course). Can you give me some suggestions on what I can do or do you think I can do my normal things and still be on the detox?

    A:

The human mind can make or break you based upon its conditioning! Just take the cleanse one day at a time and FIND OUT for yourself what the reactions will be. You're all in the future worrying! One day at a time! One day at a time! Take things one day at a time. Read the article â€WHAT IS RAW FOODS†because you're asking about cooked foods and prohibited foods (animal flesh) which the kit clearly states should be avoided for 3-weeks. Always THINK positive in life about everything. Your thoughts create your reality!

Q: Good morning. I tried the WEIGHT RELEASE CLEANSE AND REGIMEN and followed the diet. I must say that I am amazed at how good I feel. Energetic and focused but alas, I only lost 3 pounds in the 3 weeks. I am 5'5 and currently at 181 pounds. My body is extremely resistant to weight loss. I have done several different types of detox including the IZO juice cleanse in the last year and had not lost weight. I don't even seem to respond to a very low calorie diet. I do have elevated liver Enzyme levels and a recent blood test showed low B6 vitamin and not proper protein digestion. I exercise 3 times a week and I eat rather health and mostly organic. Please HELP. Thanks

    A:

This means that your body focused on another area that was of more importance than weight release. your mind wanted weight reduction but your body intelligence focused on something else. Go with the flow of the body intelligence and trust it. You apparently have an energetic block that prevents you from physically releasing weight (since you've tried other programs). Consider scheduling a consultation so we can get at the energetic/emotional root of your problem. Simply stop worrying about "losing" weight. Focus on what you desire (to see yourself in the size you desire). Don't focus on what you don't want (i.e. to lose weight).

Q: I am on my 3rd day of the fully body cleansing. I am definitely doing this to lose weight. I am a 52 year old, black, Christian, wife, mother to 21 and 14 year old girls, legal secretary who is 450 lbs. I am to the point now where if I don't do this I'm going to be housebound. I can barely move some days that is why I started this because I feel so unhealthy. I have a question about the nuts. I got all gun-ho and ordered $135.00 worth of organic nuts from nuts.com. I got raisins, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, walnuts, pecans, pistachios and cashews and mixed them all up together (well I purchased 2 lbs of each but I only mixed up 1 lb of each together). Anyway, I was reading about how much calories are in nuts. Should I not pay attention to that because I was consuming a lot of calories in the first place or do I have to watch how many nuts I eat? I have put some nuts in a sandwich bags and basically filled it up and that is supposed to be my nuts ration for the day. I am also eating fruits and vegetables. So far the fruit have been grapes, grapefruit, red apples, pears, green apples and bananas. The vegetables have all been in a salad: tomatoes, celery spinach leaves, carrots, mixed in balsamic vinaigrette. I only ate the salad Monday night all the other times I have just eaten the fruit and nuts. I am also consuming approximately 75-100 oz of water. Sorry I’m long winded I just wanted you to get the entire picture.

    A:

Thanks for the question, I can definitely help you.

I am currently writing an eBook for www.dherbs.com called "Losing weight the healthy way." I have been a weight loss counselor for many years. I am also a health coach, personal trainer, bodymind nutritionist, and a vegan lifestyle coach.

When it comes to weight loss most programs want you to lose weight to get healthy. My mindset is to get healthy and lose weight.

In my health/fitness/nutrition coaching program www.theveganeffect.com I use a lowfat/high carb/ high raw/ nutrient dense/ high alkaline diet to achieve long term weight loss success. So far I am 100 percent in getting clients long lasting weight loss. If you are interested in my program please fill out the health history form on the side of the web page. We could have a free 1 hour initial consultation over skype to see how I can best help you.

Nuts are best kept to a minimum if you use them at all. Nuts are extremely high in fat and have the opposite omega 3- omega 6 ratio that is optimal for health. Seeds are best as far as ratios are concerned. Also nuts are truly easy to over eat and cause your nutrient ratios to be off.

A healthy vegan diet is a high raw fruitarian diet.

    Example:

Breakfast: green smoothie. (500-1000 calories of fruits blended with a handful of greens and water)

Bridge: Dates and strawberries (500 calories)

Lunch: Salad with low sugar fruits (cucumber, tomato, squash, bell peppers) topped with fruit, beans, psuedo grains,

    Bridge: 2-3 apples

Dinner: Raw wraps (collard greens) with low sugar fruit and tahini

    Snack: Sorbet

    Hope this helps

Q: I did the FBD, the Antiviral Cleanse, and Electric Greens Cleanse. I tested negative for HSVII, (thank GOD). But, I have still been experiencing a lot of itching, and redness in the genital area (and they get worse around the same time periods that my genital herpes outbreaks used to flare up, though this just might be a coincidence). There aren't any big lesions, but sometimes there are small patches of red raw skin, (not cuts). I know that the body can eliminate toxins via the skin. Knowing this I am assuming that if I take in toxins, it is still leaving via the skin (correct me if I'm wrong).

    A:

Great to hear! You tested negative. The energetic residual effect of the outbreaks are still there. Doesn't mean you have herpes though! Healing is not over with because of some test! You still have healing to do on the emotional energetic level. You are 100% correct about your body eliminating toxins Beloved! Because, the occurrences are on the vagina, you may need to address some past sexual issue or issues dealing with your Goddessness.

Q: I am doing the the Full Body Detox, the Anti Viral Cleanse, and then the 10 Day Electric Greens Cell Food Cleanse. I am trying to fully heal form so called HIV. I started seeing brown spots on my palm, and bottom of my feet. I am trying not to freak out. I am drinking distilled, and alkaline water. Also eating salads, smoothies(not diary), and fresh fruits. I plan on going to find a sauna and get my Charka balance. What else can I do to make these spots go away?

    A:

Don't put too much emphasis on getting rid of HIV! Focus on optimal health, and well-being. Get your mind right! Recommended reading, The Mental Science Manual e-book. Subconsciously, and subtly you have already freaked out, and your body knows it. Relax! Chill Out! Focus on healing! Not on disease! You can and will heal! Keep the faith!

Q: I have completed the Pancreas Cleanse, and I'm finishing up the Full Body Detox, I'm very disappointed! Reason being, I thought I would have dropped a lot of the extra weight, and I didn't. I did all raw foods, and started preparing raw snacks, made with nuts and dried fruits. In fact, I think I was eating too many raw nuts. I'm still working to help my body heal from the diabetes, but not sure where to go from here. I still want to lose 35 lbs, and I will continue to eat raw at least 85% to 90%, but I need help with supplements. Where do I go from here? By the way is their any reason why, I lost more weight on the Pancreas Cleanse, instead of the Full Body Detox?

    A:

Too many raw nuts could cause a feeling of being bloated, but nuts are pretty good to eat while detoxing. Most people don't have a problem with nuts, while cleansing. Okay, so you have diabetes and the weight is from the diabetes association, correct? It is ideal to first perform the Full Body Detox, followed by the Pancreas Cleanse. If you don't release the full 35 pounds of weight with these 2 kits, you then perform either the 10-Day Supreme Colon Cleanse, or the Weight Release Cleanse. Also, whether cleansing or not, drink 2 cups of Pancreas Tea daily. If the weight (waste), is due to the diabetes then your body responded to the contents of the Pancreas Cleanse (because your body needed it), and this is a sign that you should only be performing the Pancreas Cleanse, and not the other cleanses I named above.

Q: I am trying to stop ingesting unhealthy foods. I am trying to get rid of my large fibroids. In one of your articles you mentioned about the uterus. I am curious as to what happens to the uterus when the doctor performs an hysterectomy? Also, is there a daily regimen that I should follow to rid myself of the toxins in my body? Is there anything that I can take to get rid of my cravings for sweets? (I am not diabetic).

    A:

The Full Body Cleanse is a great way to help rid yourself of toxins and naturally heal your body from adverse conditions and symptoms that are affecting your health.

Q: I am thinking about purchasing your Full Body Cleanse program, but I am concerned about one thing... too much weight lost. I am already thin, and do not want to fade away as I think three weeks on nothing but raw fruits and veggies may leave me looking sick. What is your suggestion? Are there any foods high in protein I can eat while cleansing? Also, thank you so much for your wisdom and insight. I listen to you on Blake Radio, and one of the reasons why I am buying your product is because you speak with so much passion. There are a lot of cleaning products out there, and to be perfectly honest, I have been so overwhelmed by the products out there that I ended up not buying anything. At any rate, thank you for your time and let please let me know if you have any suggestions on keeping up my weight while I cleanse.

    A:

If you are concerned about getting enough food while maintaining a raw foods diet over a 20-day period, make sure you are consuming plenty of healthy fats to keep you full and satiated. Avocado, Coconut Cream or Oil, Raw Nuts, Raw Seeds, are great sources of nutrients and healthy fats that will keep you from losing weight.

To get the protein you need, you can try making a smoothie with Vegan Protein Powder.

Q: Could you please supply me with a number of different foods that are OK to eat or a good place to shop for reasonable foods while on the Full Body Detox? I am waiting for my shipment to come and I'm not exactly sure what foods I should be eating?

    A:

YOU WILL BE EATING ALL RAW FOODS. PLEASE READ OUR ARTICLE â€WHAT IS RAW FOODS†LOCATED ON OUR SITE UNDER ARTICLES. RAW FOODS IS RAW FRUITS, VEGETABLES, SEEDS, AND NUTS. NOTHING COOKED! NO MEAT, DAIRY PRODUCTS, REFINED GRAINS AND STARCHES, ETC. A GOOD PLACE TO SHOP WOULD BE WHOLE FOODS MARKET AND TRADER JOES.

Unfortunately, I know of no doctors outside of California, my home state. Try contacting Karyn Calabrese. Do a Google search on her name and you should be able to get her contact info. She owns 2 restaurants in the Chicago area. She's an alternative health practitioner. I've been to her spot in Chicago.

Q: My mother, has been experiencing a digestive tract disorder for over 3 years. Everything she eats, and takes orally seems to come through her system, and gives off a foul smell. I recommended her to try your products because, they have been successful for me. She started taking the Probiotics, and Weight Loss Formula. She mentioned just today that they too, are coming through her system, and putting out a foul smell. She has been taking the herbs for little over 3-4 weeks now. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for my mom?

    A:

Please have her perform the Full Body Detox, followed by the 10-Day Electric Greens Cell Food Cleanse. Her insides are putrified because she's acidic. She needs to eat mostly fruits, vegetables and start drinking vegetable juice. These will help her condition.

Q: I want to know if you have an herb that helps with leg swelling, edema. I had the entire test, I'm not a cancer patient, and I don't have high blood pressure or any known problems for the swelling, other than inheritance. I am doing lymph drainage therapy right now, and yes the swelling will go down some but it comes right back. Do you have herbs to clean the liver and colon? I get colonics every month; I eat organic most of the time and get foot detox baths. Also I work out at least 4 to 6 days a week for no less than 30 min or as long as an hour.

    A:

YES, PERFORM THE FULL BODY DETOX AND TRY DRINKING CORNSILK HERBAL TEA AND/OR JUNIPER BERRY HERBAL TEA DURING THE DETOX AND AFTER.

Q: I bought the 10 day Liver cleanse, & I have a question about the average weight loss. Is it really between 10-25 pounds that could be released?

A: All of the Cleanses are going to help with weight loss because of the diet that it requires you to keep.  When you eliminate waste and replenish the health of your liver, it helps with necessary weight loss.  Your body has it's own intelligence, it won't allow you to lose necessary weight if you're already at the appropriate weight for your height.  You can lose anywhere from 10-25 pounds on the 10 Day Liver Cleanse because the liver detoxes the entire body when it's functioning at a high level.

Q: I've ordered the 20 day body cleanse for my husband who has been diagnose with (RCC) Renal Cell Cancer which is in the kidney & spread to the Right lung and liver. They were going to take the kidney out today but could not because the right lung has filled with fluid it is being drained now they have started on the chemo pill SUNITINIB I've told the Dr. about the dherbs pills he said it was fine for him to take them along with the chemo pill he's has been on raw for 12 days also taking 2ounces of pure wheat grass a day is there anything else he can take to kill the cancer cells in the lung and liver?

    A:

The chemo pill is not going to help him because it's a poison - his body won't recognize it! He'd do fine with just the raw foods, wheat grass, and FULL BODY DETOX herbs. But it is your choice to do whatever you are going to do. Cells become cancerous because of starvation of OXYGEN. He should add 30 drops of OXY-DROPS to every glass of drinking water.?
