3 Ingredient Energy Bars

I can say with complete honesty that this is one of the simplest recipes I have ever created. These 3-ingredient bars take less than 10 minutes to whip up (not counting optional refrigeration before cutting), and they are loaded with naturally occurring nutrients, as well as delicious flavors!

3 INGREDIENT ENERGY BARS [VEGAN, GLUTEN-FREE]

THIS RECIPE IS :

Dairy Free, Healthy Kid-Friendly, Soy Free, Sugar Free/Low Sugar, Vegan, and  Wheat Free

SERVES

10

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cups medjool dates, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup nuts/seeds of choice (I used sunflower and pumpkin seeds)
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or raw cacao nibs
  • a pinch of sea salt (optional)

PREPARATION

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place dates in a food processor and process until they begin to form a paste. Add in the nuts/seeds and continue to process until everything is evenly combined (you may need to scrape down the sides of the processor a few times). Add in the chocolate chips and optional sea salt, and pulse just until they are evenly incorporated.
  3. Pour the dough out onto the parchment-lined baking sheet, and form the dough evenly into a compact rectangle, about 1/2-inch thick. Place dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  4. Remove from refrigerator and slice into 10 bars. Enjoy!

    Q: I am on my 3rd day of the fully body cleansing. I am definitely doing this to lose weight. Anyway, I was reading about how much calories are in nuts. Should I not pay attention to that because I was consuming a lot of calories in the first place or do I have to watch how many nuts I eat? I have put some nuts in a sandwich bags and basically filled it up and that is supposed to be my nuts ration for the day. I am also eating fruits and vegetables. So far the fruit have been grapes, grapefruit, red apples, pears, green apples and bananas. The vegetables have all been in a salad: tomatoes, celery spinach leaves, carrots, mixed in balsamic vinaigrette. I only ate the salad Monday night all the other times I have just eaten the fruit and nuts. I am also consuming approximately 75-100 oz of water. Sorry I’m long winded I just wanted you to get the entire picture.

    Nuts are best kept to a minimum if you use them at all. Nuts are extremely high in fat and have the opposite omega 3- omega 6 ratio that is optimal for health. Seeds are best as far as ratios are concerned. Also nuts are truly easy to over eat and cause your nutrient ratios to be off.

     

    A healthy vegan diet is a high raw fruitarian diet. 

    Example:

    Breakfast: green smoothie. (500-1000 calories of fruits blended with a handful of greens and water)

    Bridge: Dates and strawberries (500 calories) 

    Lunch: Salad with low sugar fruits (cucumber, tomato, squash, bell peppers) topped with fruit, beans, psuedo grains, 

    Bridge: 2-3 apples

    Dinner: Raw wraps (collard greens) with low sugar fruit and tahini

    Snack: Sorbet

    Q: I have ordered the detox cleanse, and the weight cleanse.     The best way to balance blood sugar and keep your body in a fat burning zone is to eat low fat and every 3-4 hours. Also high raw and high carb. Here are some options. Just a general outline.

    Q: I've come to your website many times in the past few days and I would like to start ordering some products to begin detoxing my body and to rid my system of the herpes simplex virus and any other std that may be lingering within. I was diagnosed with this virus on 12/5, but since then I have been given amoxicillin by the doctor.     Q: It's been 2 weeks now since, I started eating exclusively raw. I'm even baking whole wheat bread in the sun. This was a great substitute for the cooked rice I used to eat. I'm also eating quite a large amount of grapes (red and white), as my body seems to ask for it. But recently, I noticed that my heart is beating quite strongly, and I find difficulty to bear the hot weather as a consequence.     Q: I tried Sugar Buster recently, did not have the effect I (thought). Should I continue to use, or is there another product I should consider?     Q: I've made a lifestyle change about 8 months ago. I excluded all dairy, wheat, grains, gluten, legumes, sugar, oils (except olive oil). I still eat minimum amount of meat (chicken, fish) maybe 2 -3 times/wk. I'm slowly trying to eliminate meat totally as I only use to make my meals more filling. My plan is to do Ozone Therapy midway through the detox program, which also rid the body of toxins.

    Being raw or vegan does not have to be hard or expensive. The most inexpensive food are rice and beans. If you are budget consciense you should gravitate towards those foods. Stach based foods are super cheap. You should check out the book "eating vegan on 4 dollars a day" or any of Dr. Mcdougal's programs. 

    I run an online health/fitness/nutrition coaching program that can be found at www.theveganeffect.com. There you might find your answers. 

    Exercise programs do not have to be expensive either. I am a master at building fitness plans with the minimal of equipment. If all you have is your body weight than I can build you a 90 day plan. The same goes if all you have is a resistance band, exercise ball, dumbells, kettlebell, etc.

    Q: I just finished your article re: Beta Prostate & Prostate care which I found interesting. In the advertising of beta prostate it is mentioned that the active ingredient in saw palmetto, pygeum, etc., is betasitasterol, which claims to contain 300 mg from sugar cane. The claim is also made that it would take 1,000 pills of saw palmetto to equal 300 mg of betasitasterol. My question is, does your product contain this amount of betasitasterol & is it necessary to have this amount of ingredient in order for the product to be effective?

    A:

    The product is STANDARDIZED meaning it has been tampered with. Regular saw palmetto and pygeum do not naturally contain 1000 mg of betasitosterol. They are standardizing it to make it potent to deal with the prostate which they don't want to naturally take care of so they mess with the herbs and make it more potent to deal or treat the prostate gland that they don't want to naturally take care of. It's like products for lactose intolerant. Instead of telling folks to avoid certain things because they are lactose intolerant, they make a drug so that lactose intolerant people can keep on unwisely eating things they shouldn't due to being lactose intolerant. Our formula is NOT standardized, but stabilized and complete, the way you find plants in Nature. It is not necessary to have such a high amount of an alkaloid.

    Q: Today is day 14 of my FULL BODY DETOX Journey. About 70% of my upper body is covered in red, painful eczema. I have been taking the sea salt baths but the peroxide on my face stings so I haven't continued doing it. I am trying to stay positive on this journey amidst the difficulty of walking around with red rashly peeling skin and painful, uncomfortable nights. I’m wondering where I go from here.     Great question. The key to successfully The Full Body Cleanse, is to not starve yourself. We want you to consume fresh fruits, and vegetables until you are content. Many people forget that the elephant, which is one of the biggest mammals on land is in fact a vegetarian. You can still eat veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds, and be content.     Q: I've been a vegan for 2 years now. I've done the FBD 3 times in these two years, but my urine is still yellow. The only time it is clear is immediately after I drink water (reverse osmosis water). If I miss a day of drinking water, my urine goes back to being dark yellow. Does this mean that my body is still very toxic? Also, is it normal to release urine 5 to 15 minutes after drinking liquids? I would think that water would need to stay in the body for awhile for proper hydration and cleansing.

    From what you wrote I would suggest you start drinking alkaline water (purchase an alkaline water machine, you can find various brands in our e-book "Alternative Diet and Lifestyle Manual"). If you are urinating within 10-15 minutes of drinking water you are not absorbing the water, and thus you require micro-clustered water which an alkaline (and ionizing) water machine does. I also highly recommend consumption of our Kidneys-Bladder formula (3 capsules per day).

    Q: First let me say Thank you, thank you, thank you. You really helped me to see how/why arthritis manifested in my life. From your answer, I developed my personal matra "Move like the waves in the ocean" and it has really helped to improve my pain drug free. About 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and was given nuclear radiation which "nuked" my thyroid. So, I was told to take thyroid replacement therapy in the form of synthroid.
