It’s a delicious twist on the traditional grits. These Grilled Cheesy Grit Cakes will satisfy you on any cold morning.

GRILLED CHEESY GRIT CAKES [VEGAN]

THIS RECIPE IS :

Dairy Free and Vegan

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups hot cooked instant grits
  • 1 tbsp vegan butter
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (or 1 tbsp chopped fresh garlic)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme, finely chopped, or 1 tsp. dry thyme
  • 1 tsp salt (optional)

PREPARATION

  1. Combine all ingredients and stir well.
  2. Spray an 8″ square brownie pan with a little oil.
  3. Pour grit mixture into pan and smooth the top. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours to overnight to let it set until completely cool.
  4. Turn the form out onto a cutting board and cut into four squares.
  5. Lightly spray grill and cook until you see grill marks on each side (about 3 minutes). Do not move the cakes around and allow plenty of space between them on the grill.
  6. Cut each square diagonally into triangles. Serve hot.

    Q: How often should one eat cook food? I'm a vegan, I do not consume any meat, seafood, milk what so ever. I eat water cresses like everyday so as cook food. I am concern because I have about read on some other blog about a doctor that cure cancer using pepper and garlic (credits to KELLY EIDEM). So, I have been eating raw hot pepper and garlic.     Eating hot peppers has its benefits but excess consumption may eventually cause harm. It boils down to how often and how much of them you are eating. Organic doesn't make a thing necessarily good to eat.     Q: I'm a raw vegan, and still suffering from acne. I stay away from all sweeteners, except fresh whole fruits. I started to have lots of greens juices these days, and my skin has improved a little bit. What about spices such a cayenne pepper, is it bad for your skin? What about goji berries?     Q: I am suffering from severe yeast infections since past several months, have taken acidophilus, grapeseed extract, garlic, etc. The condition has become very itchy, burning sensation while urinate, massive white clotty discharge.     Q: Hello, I finished taking the Full Body Detox and I am currently taking Total Male Cleanse for my urethritis. My question is about your STD-Rid product.     Q: Greetings, I wanted to let you know that I have been taking your prenatal vitamins, and they work great! I am expecting in December, and I am still nursing my one year old.
