My favorite summer fruit is cherries. I love seeing them at the farmers markets throughout the city. I call them “the happy fruit” because they’re so adorable! Cherries are packed with anti inflammatory properties, and are well known for being one of the most effective natural sleeping aids. At Blossom and Blossom Du Jour we always try to make sure our smoothies are chock full of good ingredients including protein like you have in this recipe as well. Here’s a delicious and healthy smoothie recipe that I look forward to making every summer.
NUTTY CHERRY SMOOTHIE [VEGAN, RAW, GLUTEN-FREE]
- 2 cups tart cherry juice
- 1 banana
- 2 Tablespoons almond butter
- 1 cup ice cold vegan milk or coconut yogurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch salt
- Place all ingredients in blender until smooth.
