RAW PASTA with Tomato Sauce

Mmm Mmm Mmm. I really love the presentation of food, and I had fun with this dish. The noodles were ridiculously easy to make, just slice them on the mandoline and you have the most beautiful, living, fresh pasta you’ve ever laid eyes on. Sauces for me are usually a blend of tahini or other raw sprouted nut butter, some miso, some spices and herbs. For this dish it was more focused on tomatoes to get that spaghetti and tomato sauce with meatballs feel.

 
My family was having spaghetti with tomato sauce and meatballs (organic, local beef JUST so you know) the same night, thus my inspiration. 

The nut balls were a mix of nuts (duh) and a bunch of spices. I put curry powder on almost every savory meal I make, as well as cinnamon. And chopped garlic, of course! I shaped them into balls and dehydrated them the day before.

The “Parmesan cheese” is a staple for me and my mom. Here’s the recipe.  
We had two gorgeous heirloom tomatoes from the farmer’s market lying around so I used them on the outside of the noodle pile for a “frame”. Pinched off some basil from the garden, set up the nut balls, and voila! I think my family may have been a bit jealous.

Raw Pasta with Nut Balls and Tomato Sauce: makes 2-4 servings

1 Carrot
1 Bell Pepper
1 Zucchini 

1/4 cup Almonds 
1/4 cup Walnuts
Cumin, coriander, turmeric, cayenne, etc. and other spices 
2 cloves garlic
Olive oil (or water)
Pinch of salt & pepper

1 Tomato
Basil, Oregano, other spices
1 clove garlic
2 Tb sun-dried tomatoes
Olive oil (or water)
Pinch of salt & pepper
1/2 cup mushrooms
 
Noodles: Slice all the veggies very thin on a mandoline (or by hand), into noodles. Sprinkle on a little olive oil an salt and set aside. 
 
Nut Balls: In food processor, pulse almonds, walnuts and garlic until they’re in a very rough flour size.  Add spices of your choice and salt (cumin makes a big difference… it makes it taste like taco meat!) Then add olive oil until the mixture is crumbly, but sticks together when you shape it. 
Shape it all into nut balls and refrigerate for an hour or so. Or you can dehydrate them for 2-4 hours (what I did).
 
Sauce: Process tomato, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatos, garlic, salt, and your choice of spices until it’s like a thick sauce. Add olive oil until you get the consistency you want.
 
Assembly: Pour sauce onto noodles and mix well, until all are coated. Serve with the nut balls. Enjoy!

    The outbreak is a result of your body trying to eliminate the toxicity and impurities from your body. Continue to follow the guidelines of the Cleanse.

    In regards to what you ate, YES, they make the cleanse less effective, so you may not want to eat much of cooked foods. Raw foods will optimize the cleanse. If you are having trouble staying full, try more healthy fats, like avocado, coconut cream, or raw nuts and seeds.

    Q: Is sea salt and warm water a good natural laxative? If so how often do you recommend the use of sea salt for elimination? I was reading The Master Cleanser by Stanley Burroughs and it gives this recommendation, along with drinking lemon water mixed with organic syrup and cayenne pepper. Is it safe to give myself an enema 2xs per day using a hot water bottle filled with fresh squeezed organic lemon and distilled water? Asking this because Bzod had me to listen to 88.3 today here in Cincinnati and the guy (Mike) was telling how he does this regularly and has great results.

    Yes, sea salt in water is a mild laxative!

    You can do it as often as you FEEL the need to drink or take it. 

    You can also consume the Master Cleanse (cayenne, maple syrup, lemon juice) if you choose. You can drink this as much as you like depending on how you feel.

    And yes, you can perform enemas 2X a day! Enemas are very helpful for health!

    Q: How often should one eat cook food? I'm a vegan, I do not consume any meat, seafood, milk what so ever. I eat water cresses like everyday so as cook food. Like white rice with black bean sauce, spinach, and pasta at time's I'll eat some Chinese fried rice, veggie roll, steamed vegetables, any advice?

    You can eat cooked food as much as you like. However, try to incorporate as many nutrient-dense raw foods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, raw nuts and seeds, into your diet to make sure you are receiving an adequate amount of nutrients.

    Q: I noticed the CARDIO-VASCULAR FORMULA contains garlic. My partner would like to participate in the detox program with me, but she has allergies to garlic that make her very sick. Her allergist told her that dried herbs have less of an effect because of the processing.     Q: I am interested in all the lessons you have tabled in the article section of Dherbs. On reading one article, I learned that pepper is a mucus irritant. I am concern because I have about read on some other blog about a doctor that cure cancer using pepper and garlic (credits to KELLY EIDEM). So, I have been eating raw hot pepper and garlic.     Eating hot peppers has its benefits but excess consumption may eventually cause harm. It boils down to how often and how much of them you are eating. Organic doesn't make a thing necessarily good to eat. Organic peanut butter is better than regular or inorganic peanut butter but peanut butter is peanut butter and thus hard on the digestive process.

    Q: I was wondering if it is okay to mix Mrs. Dash season blend with Olive Oil as a dressing for my salad?     Q: I'm a raw vegan, and still suffering from acne. I stay away from all sweeteners, except fresh whole fruits.     Q: I am a 55 year old female. I have an overactive bladder. I am trying to control it myself, without medication. I have not tried herbs. I eat fruits, vegetables, grains and proteins (not beef or pork). I added back more meat proteins 1 1/2 years ago because I was becoming so tired and lacking energy. (I read The Schwartzbein Diet, which helped convince me to add more protein.) I don't eat much sugar, salt (only 500 mg./day) or hardly any processed foods. I drink water and licorice tea, because it makes me feel good. I believe in the power of positive thinking. Can you help me with this?

    The steps you are taking in your diet are a great start. Try going raw, and eliminating grains and meat altogether. You can get enough protein and healthy fats with avocado, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, almonds, brazil nuts, coconut. You can also add Vegan Protein Powder to smoothies.

    Q: I have other food combinations that I’m kind of confused about on the e book, this is my first time learning to combine food 1. can I add this to my salad a.     You can add these to your salad! They are exceptions because you are eating them in a salad and tomatoes and cucumbers are veggie-fruits, so they are okay! Avocadoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc are okay in your salad!

    Q: Dasani water, if I remember correctly, was banned from the U.K. It contains salt as well as potassium chloride. Essentia contains calcium chloride, as well as sodium bicarbonate, magnesium sulfate, dipotassium phosphate. Are all the ingredients in Essentia safe? One would have do an independent test on the water. Dasani is crap and I no longer drink Essentia but it would be my brand of choice of bottled water if I was to purchase water again.

    Personally I have an alkaline-antioxidant water machine (Neptune brand) that produces alkaline, antioxidant, oxygenate, mineralized water that is made in Asia.

    Q: I was just outdoors in L.A. walking, when what seemed like a small (didn't see it coming) flying insect went up my nose and literally burrowed into my nasal cavity in like 2 seconds...instinctively I clenched my nose, but it had already dug in and parked itself...no pain, no cold, no nosebleed or anything...just the two hard ball bearing like balls...I’m stymied!

    Q: Thanks for the great web site! MY question is what's the best way to get sodium. I thought un-refined sea salt was the best, but the salt article says "eat this salt only if you must." The great thing about pure sea salt is that it all or almost all the minerals the body needs! So what's the best way to get all the mineral and to stay in balance? Also is there a way to get Epsom salt that is sodium sulfate not magnesium sulfate? Is it a good idea to bath in the "good" Epsom salt.

    The best way to get sodium is via vegetables (i.e. celery).

    Sea salt is great source of sodium, but its a secondary source as it has to be processed from ocean water. Absent the process, it would not be available.

    But it does provide minute amounts of trace elements.

    In re Epsom salt, I haven't been able to find the sodium one.

    I stopped using Epsom salt many years ago.

    You could bath in the good Epsom salt, but sea salt is far better and more natural.

    Q: Recently I have been having a problem with my breath. I did a complete cleanse and I came to a conclusion that it is not from my colon. Lately I have been pulling up phlegm That taste and smells horrible, also I have been getting tonsilloliths (tonsil stones) about three to four times a day.     Q: I am on my 3rd day of the fully body cleansing. I am definitely doing this to lose weight. I am a 52 year old, black, Christian, wife, mother to 21 and 14 year old girls, legal secretary who is 450 lbs. I am to the point now where if I don't do this I'm going to be housebound. I can barely move some days that is why I started this because I feel so unhealthy. I have a question about the nuts. I got all gun-ho and ordered $135.00 worth of organic nuts from nuts.com. I got raisins, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, walnuts, pecans, pistachios and cashews and mixed them all up together (well I purchased 2 lbs of each but I only mixed up 1 lb of each together). Anyway, I was reading about how much calories are in nuts. Should I not pay attention to that because I was consuming a lot of calories in the first place or do I have to watch how many nuts I eat? I have put some nuts in a sandwich bags and basically filled it up and that is supposed to be my nuts ration for the day. I am also eating fruits and vegetables. So far the fruit have been grapes, grapefruit, red apples, pears, green apples and bananas. The vegetables have all been in a salad: tomatoes, celery spinach leaves, carrots, mixed in balsamic vinaigrette. I only ate the salad Monday night all the other times I have just eaten the fruit and nuts. I am also consuming approximately 75-100 oz of water. Sorry I’m long winded I just wanted you to get the entire picture.

    Nuts are best kept to a minimum if you use them at all. Nuts are extremely high in fat and have the opposite omega 3- omega 6 ratio that is optimal for health. Seeds are best as far as ratios are concerned. Also nuts are truly easy to over eat and cause your nutrient ratios to be off.

     

    A healthy vegan diet is a high raw fruitarian diet. 

    Example:

    Breakfast: green smoothie. (500-1000 calories of fruits blended with a handful of greens and water)

    Bridge: Dates and strawberries (500 calories) 

    Lunch: Salad with low sugar fruits (cucumber, tomato, squash, bell peppers) topped with fruit, beans, psuedo grains, 

    Bridge: 2-3 apples

    Dinner: Raw wraps (collard greens) with low sugar fruit and tahini

    Snack: Sorbet

    Q: I'm on my 9th day of the FULL BODY DETOX which I am performing to heal from genital herpes. I am also am suffering from a yeast infection at the moment.     Q: I am on day 4 of the FULL BODY DETOX and was wondering what else can or should I eat besides toss salad and fruits and veggies.     Q: My wife started the Master Cleanse two days ago. During the first day when she drank the sea salt water she vomited several times.     A: We have numerous raw salad dressing recipes available on our recipe section. The salad dressing you tried, might be better with apple cider vinegar instead of lemon juice in addition to adding the sea salt and herbs & spices of your choice.

    Q: Unfortunately, I think it will be impossible to order and get the products you mentioned. I ordered a pack of organic seeds last year from Holland, and experienced many difficulties getting it. (due to the very bad posting services in my country) Meanwhile, I made some researches about olive leaf, and listened to my inner voice. I'm going to try to use olive leaf tea as a natural anti-viral. What is your opinion about that? And do you have any information about the best way to prepare this drink as a medical treatment?     You are very welcome, Beloved! Olive Leaf is a very powerful and effective herb, especially for cases of so-called viruses. Because it's an herb you really can't take too much of it. Personally, 3 is the magic number, so I'd recommend 3 times per day (tea or capsule form).
