Raw-Vocado Key Lime Pie Vegan

Avocados are green and taste good with lime. That was my ah-ha and I headed to the kitchen to play, which yielded this raw, vegan and gluten-free Key Lime Pie! It turned out to be not only easy, but also refreshing and quite tasty. Friends and hubby had seconds which is always a good sign.

RAW-VOCADO KEY LIME PIE [VEGAN, GLUTEN-FREE]

THIS RECIPE IS :

Dairy Free, Healthy Kid-Friendly, Raw Vegan, Vegan and Wheat Free

SERVES

INGREDIENTS

Crust:

  • 1/3 cup almonds
  • 1/3 cup cashews
  • 1/3 cup pecans
  • 6 -8 medjool dates (you may need a few more or a couple less depending on the size and moisture of your dates)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Filling:

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 4 tbs raw agave nectar
  • 3 tbs lime juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ¼ cup cashews

Topping:

  • 1 cup soaked & drained cashews (soak for an hour or more so they blend smooth and creamy)
  • 2 tbs agave
  • 1 ½  tsp vanilla

PREPARATION

Crust:

  1. Mix all ingredients in food processor with S blade until they stick together by pinching.  Nuts should be finely chopped, but not turned into nut butter.  Spread and push down mixture to evenly coat bottom of 9 x 9” square cake pan.

Filling:

  1. Mix all ingredients in food processor with S blade until creamy and smooth, spread on top of nut crust. Freeze for 20 minutes.

Topping:

  1. Mix all ingredients in food processor with S blade until creamy and smooth, add a bit of water or a little more agave if needed.
  2. Spread on top of frozen avocado and store covered in the freezer until 5 – 15 minutes prior to serving (if frozen.) Take out and cut into pieces, allowing them to slightly thaw before serving.  Pie filling will turn brown in about an hour after thawing, so keep frozen if possible.

    There are too many grains in that combination. Consider a veggie side, i.e. salad. We reccomend a vegan, raw foods diet, full of fresh fruits and vegetables in order for you to receive the nutrients you need and detoxify your system.

    Q: How often should one eat cook food? I'm a vegan, I do not consume any meat, seafood, milk what so ever. I eat water cresses like everyday so as cook food. Like white rice with black bean sauce, spinach, and pasta at time's I'll eat some Chinese fried rice, veggie roll, steamed vegetables, any advice?

    A:

    You can eat cooked food as much as you like. However, try to incorporate as many nutrient-dense raw foods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, raw nuts and seeds, into your diet to make sure you are receiving an adequate amount of nutrients.

    Q: I don't know if you remember or know, but there was a Vegan Couple that had a newborn baby, and the baby had died from what seemed to be a lack a of nutrients because the couple fed the baby a vegan diet. If you remember this, what do you think went wrong.

    A:

    The couple was from Atlanta! What went wrong is that while they were well-intentioned, they were ignorant, ignorant to true nutrition. They fed the baby soy milk, and soy milk does not contain nutrition. They didn't supplement the soy milk with nutrition which they could have done with herbs such as alfalfa, Irish Moss, Iceland Moss, etc.

    Q: I've made a lifestyle change about 8 months ago. I excluded all dairy, wheat, grains, gluten, legumes, sugar, oils (except olive oil). I still eat minimum amount of meat (chicken, fish) maybe 2 -3 times/wk. I'm slowly trying to eliminate meat totally as I only use to make my meals more filling. My plan is to do Ozone Therapy midway through the detox program, which also rid the body of toxins.

    Q: I've been a vegan for 2 years now. I've done the FBD 3 times in these two years, but my urine is still yellow. The only time it is clear is immediately after I drink water (reverse osmosis water). If I miss a day of drinking water, my urine goes back to being dark yellow. Does this mean that my body is still very toxic? Also, is it normal to release urine 5 to 15 minutes after drinking liquids? I would think that water would need to stay in the body for awhile for proper hydration and cleansing.

    A:

    From what you wrote I would suggest you start drinking alkaline water (purchase an alkaline water machine, you can find various brands in our e-book "Alternative Diet and Lifestyle Manual"). If you are urinating within 10-15 minutes of drinking water you are not absorbing the water, and thus you require micro-clustered water which an alkaline (and ionizing) water machine does. I also highly recommend consumption of our Kidneys-Bladder formula (3 capsules per day).

    Q: What's the best way to start on a vegan/raw food diet? I am not sure what to eat to make sure I would get a nutritious diet-you may not be able to go into that much detail but how can I get sample meal plans for breakfast, lunch and dinner incorporating this type of diet-perhaps there is somewhere on the web I find something like this?     If I do say myself, the best way to start a raw food diet is to be coached by me.     Here are some other tips to get started.

    1: Join a raw food meetup group or community. Surround yourself with supportive people who can point you in the right direction. Try meetup.org or 30bananasaday.com 

    2: Read books like "beauty detox solution" by snyder, "80/10/10" by Dr. Graham., or "The Paradigm diet" by Adam Dave

    3: Start simple with breakfast. Always start your day with a green smoothie. read "Green smoothie revolution" by forget authors name at the moment. heh.

    A sample meal plan would be.

    Breakfast: Green smoothie

    Bridge: raw bar, handful of nuts or seeds, or fruit

    Lunch: Raw wraps made from collard greens. use a base of tahini, hummus, or nut butter. Fill with sprouts and colorful veggies

    Bridge: raw bar, handful nuts or seeds, or fruit

    Dinner: Raw pasta with a large salad

    Snack: Sorbet

    Q: I have other food combinations that I’m kind of confused about on the e book, this is my first time learning to combine food 1. can I add this to my salad a. Tomato (I think the answer is no) b. cucumber (the 3 below are under proteins, @ the bottom is says that you can mix them with vegetables but in the same sentence it’s also says you cant mix them with proteins...it’s a bit confusing to me) c. cashews or walnuts d. avocado

    You can add these to your salad! They are exceptions because you are eating them in a salad and tomatoes and cucumbers are veggie-fruits, so they are okay! Avocadoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc are okay in your salad!

    Q: During my phone consultation, I inquired about shaving creams other than the magic shave that I had been using for years. I tried the Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap as well as the Alba shaving cream. I have tried them both, and I use the hydrogen peroxide after I shave. But after a couple of days of smooth butter skin, my face becomes slightly irritated and small bumps form around the area where a goatee would grow. I know that I have some skin issues as of late, but don't know what. I even put a good amount of the OZ OIL on my face after I use the hydrogen peroxide.     Q: Recently I was diagnosed with HSV-2 after finding a blister in my genital area. I am driving myself crazy every bump I see I suspect I am transferring this to all parts of my body.     Q: First let me just say that I love this site. It has given my goddesses and I true alternative. For some reason during this season we have been experiencing the announance of staph infections. The MD doctors have no clue or not clear in explaining how a person even contracts this infection but I know that it has to be food related. The body is perfect until it is contaminated by the foods we eat. At present I have a painful byte that I know is probably now a staph infection. It has swollen and turned red around the affected are. Is there any product that you have available that can assist me with this?
