I was on an orange kick the other day, (isn’t orange the new black?) and decided to use only orange ingredients for a new smoothie to feature on ABC-TV.
I found fresh turmeric at the market, and decided to give it a whirl in this sweet and spicy smoothie. It was delicious, and I love this new way to use my favorite anti-inflammatory spice.

Fight your inflammation today, with this gorgeous orange smoothie.
- 1/3 of a fresh persimmon
- 1 slice fresh papaya
- 1 small carrot, lightly peeled
- 1/2 cup cooked pumpkin
- 1/2 peeled orange
- 1/2 inch fresh turmeric, or 1 half teaspoon dried turmeric
- pumpkin pie spice to taste (I like several big shakes)
Blend in a high speed blender and enjoy!
