With all the spook and scare surrounding Halloween, the last thing you need is children running away from your doorstep having realized healthy Halloween candy (aka apples) are being offered. There are far more creative ways to excite children and satisfy their sweet tooth this Halloween whilst keeping their well-being in mind. Here are three kid-friendly vegan Halloween candy recipes that even you will adore.

1. Candy Corn

Makes about 1 cup of candy corn

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2/3 agave nectar
  • ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon Earth Balance butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup almond milk
  • Dash of salt
  • Red and yellow food coloring

Directions

In a saucepan, bring the sugar, agave, butter and vanilla to a light boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and let it cook for a few minutes, while you continuously stir. Remove from the heat. Set aside. In a medium bowl, mix the powdered sugar, almond milk and salt and add it to the saucepan. Fold together the ingredients until well combined. Place the doughy mixture on a flat surface and let cool to a warm temperature for up to 30 minutes. Use hands to knead until completely smooth.

Divide the mixture into 3 equal-sized pieces. Add a few drops of both the red and yellow food coloring to one piece of the dough and use clean hands to knead the piece of dough until it is evenly orange all over. On another piece of dough add a few drops of the yellow food coloring. Knead until even in color. Leave the third piece of dough white.

Next, roll each piece into long ropes, equal in length and width. Push them together so that they create one long, striped rope. Use a knife to cut triangles from the dough, making sure to get all the colors on each cut piece.

Divide the candy corn into small plastic bags to hand out to trick-or-treaters.

2. Popcorn Balls

Makes 8-10

Ingredients

  • 1 bag popcorn
  • ¼ cup agave nectar
  • ½ cup smooth almond butter or peanut butter
  • Choice of add-ins: dried fruit, nuts, sea salt, chocolate pieces, etc.

Directions

Make popcorn according to package instructions. Spread popcorn out on a baking dish. In a saucepan melt the nut butter with the agave nectar and stir until evenly combined and warm. Drizzle the nut and agave mixture over the popcorn evenly. Add all desired add-ins. Grab a handful size of the mixture and shape into a ball. Place into a plastic bag and seal. Repeat with the rest of the mixture.

3. Peanut Butter Cups

Makes up to 6

Ingredients

Chocolate shell

  • ½ cup coconut butter,
  • 3 tablespoons maple or agave syrup
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • Dash of sea salt

Nut filling

  • 1 large tablespoon unsalted peanut or almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon maple or agave syrup
  • Dash of sea salt

Directions

In a small saucepan, add the coconut butter, maple syrup and cocoa powder. Stir until smooth. Remove from heat.

In a small bowl mix together the filling ingredients until evenly combined. Line 6 muffin tins with paper baking cups. Place about a teaspoon-sized dollop of the chocolate mixture on the bottom of each one. Top each in the center with about ½ teaspoon of the nut mixture. Next, top each with another teaspoon of the chocolate mixture to completely cover the filling. Place in the fridge to harden. Serve in plastic baggies.

Q: I just ordered the FULL BODY DETOX and I know there's a dietary regimen that I will have to follow. I was wondering if you would approve of a protein shake that consist of (raw hemp protein powder, raw almond butter, sea salt, flax seed, 100% young coconut water & meat inside the coconut, raw carob powder,) (optional soy or rice milk or soy or rice cream)

    A:

Doesn't sound like it will mess up your FULL BODY DETOX. Go for it! But leave out the rice/soy cream! The rice milk is okay (but it is processed/cooked)!

Q: My daughter, who is 11 yrs old found a 1cm lump in her left breast 2wks ago. She was referred to a specialist and of course they want to surgically remove the lump. I let a co-worker scan the lump and they think it is a non-cancerous fibroandroma (I do ultrasound myself) and I saw a couple of cysts around the area as well. Of course I don't want the surgery for my daughter. Do you have any suggestions on how to get rid of all the abnormalities herbally? Maybe Yellow Dock tea, but I am concerned about her young age. Maybe a light detox. She started her period already at 11yrs old. Most healthcare professionals say fibroandromas are normal at this age when they begin their cycle due to the hormonal changes. I know better. My daughter drinks about 4-5 cups of purified water (aquavie machine) a day, no red meat, just chicken. Sneaks candy from school and little desserts at home maybe say 4 cookies a day. She gets sugar from natural OJ and Ocean Spray cranberry juice though. I am working on getting her off of sugar completely but it is a challenge. I’ve been a vegetarian for 5 years and am slowly going raw. Always seeking more knowledge. Also could there be a lack of something in her diet? My daughter is lazy and never works out play outside consistently (5'7" and 143lbs) she is tall for her age and is sliming her stomach down almost unnoticeable just a little pudge left. 1 day of PE in the schools. I am yust trying to paint the picture and give you her history.

    A:

HAVE THE CHILD PERFORM THE CHILDREN’S DETOX EVERY 3 MONTHS. I WOULD ALSO HAVE HER DRINK THE : DETOX TEA AS WELL (EVERY DAY, ONE CUP). SOUNDS LIKE YOU ALSO NEED TO WORK ON KEEPING THE CHILD'S COLON MOVING CONSISTENTLY AS WELL. THROUGH MODIFIED DIET AND NUTRITION THE LUMP CAN DISSOLVE ON IT'S OWN. HOWEVER, DISCIPLINE IS KEY HERE!

Q: I read that you do not recommend coconut oil, because of its thickness. Do you believe that coconut butter is healthy for human consumption? Thank you all the knowledge you generously share.

    A:

Actually, coconut oil is healthier for human consumption than coconut butter. Both are derived from a natural food source - the coconut, and thus may be consumed. Now as far as what the most healthiest oil, I don't think we can say it's coconut oil.

Q: Is sea salt and warm water a good natural laxative? If so how often do you recommend the use of sea salt for elimination? I was reading The Master Cleanser by Stanley Burroughs and it gives this recommendation, along with drinking lemon water mixed with organic syrup and cayenne pepper. Is it safe to give myself an enema 2xs per day using a hot water bottle filled with fresh squeezed organic lemon and distilled water? Asking this because Bzod had me to listen to 88.3 today here in Cincinnati and the guy (Mike) was telling how he does this regularly and has great results.

    A:

Yes, sea salt in water is a mild laxative!

You can do it as often as you FEEL the need to drink or take it.

You can also consume the Master Cleanse (cayenne, maple syrup, lemon juice) if you choose. You can drink this as much as you like depending on how you feel.

And yes, you can perform enemas 2X a day! Enemas are very helpful for health!

Q: I wrote to you earlier tonight regarding my hair has recently been thinning quite a bit. I forgot to tell you that I have been periodically been dying (coloring my hair) because I have so much grey coming in. I am 40 years old and my hair is quite grey without the coloring. I recently switched to a brand that I bought in the health food store. Tell me is my hair falling out because I have been coloring it? I just started coloring it the past four years due to greying. (I know young girls color their hair all the time just to experiment. I colored because of the grey). Is the coloring getting me in trouble and causing the hair fall out. I color it myself not professionally. Tell me should I just stop all together with the coloring? What do you recommend to restore my hair?

    A:

You cannot regain your hair without regaining your overall health including your hormonal health. First, detoxify your whole body (see Full Body Cleanse). Follow the Full Body Clease with the Female Cleanse.

After these 2 cleanses (which we highly recommend) your monthly regimen should consist of the following Dherbs formulas: Thyroid Aid, Vitamin C, Electric Greens, Hair, Skin, Nails Formula and Female Hormonal Formula.

Only use natural hair products (shampoo and conditioner). Don't process your hair as much. Avoid harsh chemicals on your hair.

Q: Can I use pure Shea butter mixed with olive oil in my hair

    A:

Yes, you can use shea butter and olive oil in the hair. They're both great natural products that promote good healthy hair. A lot of the hair products on the market contain substances that aren't great for your hair. When using natural things such a shea butter you know what you're using.

Q: During my phone consultation, I inquired about shaving creams other than the magic shave that I had been using for years. I tried the Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap as well as the Alba shaving cream. I have tried them both, and I use the hydrogen peroxide after I shave. But after a couple of days of smooth butter skin, my face becomes slightly irritated and small bumps form around the area where a goatee would grow. I know that I have some skin issues as of late, but don't know what. I even put a good amount of the OZ OIL on my face after I use the hydrogen peroxide. Should I not expect any constant smooth shaves until I go through the FULL BODY DETOX (FBD)?

    A:

Whether you know it not but you answered your own question and correctly so. Yes, give the FULL BODY DETOX a try!

Q: I just completed the Full Body Cleanse about two weeks ago and started the Pancreas Formula for my pancreas... I don?t have the money for the full kit but after the Full Body Cleanse I?ve notice my blood averaging +-200.....it had reached a low of 124 during detox. I bought cromium and have used it since the onset of detox at about 1200 mcg per day! My Pancreas is a piece of crap!!!!! I haven?t had ANY thing with added sugar or artificial, just green tea with stevia to sweeten it. NO Treats! The only regular food I get now is like lean cuisine type once or twice a day with fresh vegetables or fresh made Veg juice....I had went from 327lbs to 289lbs during detox but since I?ve went back up settling at about 296 and stable. I have cut everything I love out of my life! No Sugar, No Milk Products. About 6 ounces of meat A WEEK eat mostly live vegetables yet I see a Pancreas that needs to be punished for ruining my life!!!!! I try to help it and this is what it does for me! I don?t know what to do next.

    A:

If you can't afford the full kit or kits, order and drink some of our Herbal Teas to help maintain the pancreas in its normal healthy secretion. Cinnamon Tea can also provide additional benefits.

We also recommend a daily pancreas regimen of: Pancreas Aid, Pancreas Formula, and Sugar Control.

Your vegetable juice should consist of GREEN BEAN (Snap pea) and/or BRUSSEL SPROUTS, to help maintain pancreatic health.

Q: What is the molecular structure of: (1) a banana , and (2) a piece of cooked meat?

    A:

YOU WOULD NEED A MICROSCOPE TO BE SPECIFIC AND TECHNICAL. THE BANANA WOULD CONTAIN NATURAL AMINO ACIDS, MINERALS (ESP. POTASSIUM) WITH AN ATOMIC WEIGHT/NUMBER, ETC. IT WOULD ASSIMILATE INTO THE BODY AND HELP REPAIR IT, AID GROWTH AND MAINTENANCE TO SUSTAIN LIFE. THE COOKED MEAT WOULD BE A FRANKENSTEIN IF YOU WILL. THE COOKED MEAT WOULD BECOME INORGANIC VIA COOKING (ALTERING). IT WILL NOT ASSIMILATE INTO THE BODY, WHICH IS WHY MEAT CAUSES PREMATURE AGING VIA DISEASE. PLEASE MY ARTICLE ON THIS SUBJECT â€THE DANGERS OF EATING MEAT!â€. I HAVE HUNDREDS OF OTHER INQUIRIES I MUST ANSWER.

Q: Thanks for the great web site! MY question is what's the best way to get sodium. I thought un-refined sea salt was the best, but the salt article says "eat this salt only if you must." The great thing about pure sea salt is that it all or almost all the minerals the body needs! So what's the best way to get all the mineral and to stay in balance? Also is there a way to get Epsom salt that is sodium sulfate not magnesium sulfate? Is it a good idea to bath in the "good" Epsom salt.

    A:

    You're welcome, Beloved!

The best way to get sodium is via vegetables (i.e. celery).

Sea salt is great source of sodium, but its a secondary source as it has to be processed from ocean water. Absent the process, it would not be available.

But it does provide minute amounts of trace elements.

In re Epsom salt, I haven't been able to find the sodium one.

I stopped using Epsom salt many years ago.

You could bath in the good Epsom salt, but sea salt is far better and more natural.
