May your belly be full and your laughter authentic. May your sleep be peaceful and your mornings magical. May your presence be so radiant that it is contagious and spreads like wildfire.

And finally, may your food be simple and clean. Always.

Carrot Ginger Soup

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30ml)
  • 1 large onion, chopped (225g)
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 5 cups carrots, chopped (540g)
  • 2 tablespoons peeled and grated ginger (30g)
  • 6 cups veggie broth (1.4 liters)
  • 3/4 cup coconut milk (175ml)
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions

In a large pot, heat the oil and saute the onion and garlic for 3 minutes.

Add the carrots and ginger and stir for 30 seconds.

Add the broth and bring to a boil.

Once it has reached a boil, turn down the heat and allow it to simmer for 20 minutes.

Turn off heat and add the coconut milk.

In a blender, blend your soup in batches until it’s creamy and smooth (Place a kitchen towel on top of the blender and use caution when blending in case any of the hot soup jumps out).

When soup is completely blended and back in the pot, add salt and pepper to taste.

Q: I just purchased the WEIGHT RELEASE CLEANSE AND REGIMEN and today is my first day. I'm unable to get through on our inquiry line. The diet isn't completely clear to me. Although it says miso soup is ok, I'm unclear on other things. For instance, is tofu ok? What about hummus? What do sprouted grains consist of? Would Eziekial sprouted grain breads and tortillas be ok? The miso soup is the exception to the dietary rule! NO tofu, NO Ezekiel grain breads (no processed grains at all). Sprouted grains are grains (or seeds) soaked in water overnight and consumed. They are not cooked! Hummus is okay (as it's not cooked). Q: I purchased the ANTI-VIRAL CLEANSE AND REGIMEN kit. I began taking the regimen of capsules. For breakfast I had water and a banana. For lunch I ate a homemade vegetable soup (chicken broth and veggies). By 2:00 p.m. I began to regurgitate profusely. What did I do wrong? Should I expect to be physically ill after taking the capsules?

    A:

Chicken broth? That's animal-based! No animal products, Beloved! If you continue to vomit lower the dosage of the capsules from 5 down to 2 or 3 (for a few days and then work yourself back up).

Q: I am interested in all the lessons you have tabled in the article section of Dherbs. On reading one article, I learned that pepper is a mucus irritant. I am concern because I have about read on some other blog about a doctor that cure cancer using pepper and garlic (credits to KELLY EIDEM). So, I have been eating raw hot pepper and garlic. So sir, I would like to learn if there is any side effects in eating hot pepper as you have mentioned that it's mucus irritant. Thanks. Your reader.

    A:

Eating hot peppers has its benefits but excess consumption may eventually cause harm. It boils down to how often and how much of them you are eating. Organic doesn't make a thing necessarily good to eat. Organic peanut butter is better than regular or inorganic peanut butter but peanut butter is peanut butter and thus hard on the digestive process.

Q: I purchased the children's detox and received it a couple of days ago. After reading the pamphlet that came with it, I was wondering where/what kind of milk can I purchase for my baby while she is on the detox? For example it said almond, soy, rice milk... can I buy the regular boxed almond, soy, rice milk? Or if I am going to use coconut milk, can I use the canned coconut milk?

    A:

Yes, you can use almond, coconut, or any other nut milk. We do not reccomend soy.

Q: I just ordered the FULL BODY DETOX and I know there's a dietary regimen that I will have to follow. I was wondering if you would approve of a protein shake that consist of (raw hemp protein powder, raw almond butter, sea salt, flax seed, 100% young coconut water & meat inside the coconut, raw carob powder,) (optional soy or rice milk or soy or rice cream)

    A:

Doesn't sound like it will mess up your FULL BODY DETOX. Go for it! But leave out the rice/soy cream! The rice milk is okay (but it is processed/cooked)!

Q: I see also that you recommend a complete diet with these programs. I am guessing its a vegan diet right? I wanted to ask something on that is coconut milk and coconut oils ok for that? I personally had a very hard time trying to eat that many vegetables and many ph balance vegans seem to think fruits aren?t good either. I eat that many vegetables one it tears me up the next day and two I just cant consume enough calories that way. I can try and make up for it by eating things like almonds but I eat to many almonds I get the same problem the next day. Now coconut milk (unsweetened) and a digestive enzyme works for me for picking up extra calories.... but I hear very conflicting information about coconut and its saturated fat content. Is it ok to use daily as a part of the diet for cleansing? And your oxy-drops are those the same as the drop for ph balancing water?? Or is it something different? I am wanting to start lifting weights as I need to put on some muscle and I?m wondering if its something that would be beneficial in combating muscle soreness by increased oxygen in the body.

    A:

The diet we recommend is vegan-based, and RAW FOODS. Fresh fruits, vegetables, raw nuts and seeds are ideal.

Coconut Milk and Coconut Oil are excellent products to have in your diet. The healthy fats will keep you fuller.

Oxy-Drops can help balance your electrolytes that need to be replenished after a workout in order to keep your body performing efficiently.

Q: Members of my house have started drinking Hemp Milk and Rice Milk. No more Cow Milk! We like the taste of both. I also like the fact that the hemp milk has omega and other nutrients in it. However, my son is three years old and we have discovered he is allergic to nuts because a family member gave him a cashew to eat, then his eyes began to swell up like Garfield the cat. I had him tested for food allergies and the test revealed he is allergic to nuts and soy. So I don't give him any nut products or soy products. My question for you is: "Is hemp a nut or a seed, is the hemp milk derived from a nut or a seed???" I need to know other alternatives if in fact it is a nut. I do not want to give him something toxic to him.

    A:

Hemp is a seed, not a nut, so hemp seed milk is okay for him.

    Nuts cashews - peanuts, soy

    Grains - rice, oats

Fruit - almond, coconut, banana, date

Hey, I'll do an article that will be up on Dherbs early next week!

Q: In the Full Body Detox booklet it states I can have wild rice if I need something warm. I really don't like wild rice, but can I make myself a vegetable soup which I prefer. To me its more filling then the rice.

    A:

DHERBS: Sure! Simply eat your vegetable soup instead of wild rice.

Also I have been having sweet cravings lately. Is there anyone, besides mental will power to overcome this craving.

DHERBS: The root cause is emotional, however, try drinking Licorice Root or Cinnamon tea during your detox. Your detox may be detoxing some old stale emotions from the 4th chakra (love center).

Q: I have a question, my daughter (who is 2 yrs old) has had fevers which went up to 101-104. She has had 3 febrile seizures due to the fevers. Her doctor explained to me that it is not actually how high her temp is, but how quickly it went up that sent her into the seizure. So, what do I do in that case. I don't want the fever to go up so quickly that she begins to seize, and I obviously can't wait until it goes up to 104 for fear of her having a seizure. What do you suggest? I do have the ginger extract from you. Thank goodness she has not had any fevers at all recently. I pray that she has grown out of it but, just in case....what do you suggest?

    A:

Keep the child cool (cool bath, cold towel on head, etc.)! But more importantly, have the child to cleanse periodically with the Children's Full Body Detox. Fever's occur when one is toxic. Fever causes sweat of toxins via the skin.

    A:

Do as you please as far as dressing goes! Just stay away from harmful ingredients! Mrs. Dash, seasonings, Olive Oil,

Q: I'm a male who has HPV. Now when I was around the age of 17 to 18 I notice the warts. My "Doctor" told me it "could" be from heat, or sweating in that area. Well almost a year ago my son was born. But during the pregnancy my girlfriend had the warts. The physician had told her that she in fact had HPV. So what I thought were just warts from heat and sweat are HPV. So with that being said how can I get rid of the warts.

Q: My question is what could be causing my puffy eyes? I've had them for probably 6 or 8 months now (maybe more). They sometimes will have a little darkness added to them. Sometimes I wake up and whatever side I've been laying on, that eye will be even more swollen than the other side, but they are usually the puffiest when I first wake up. Sometimes it looks like I've been bopped in the eye in my sleep. I've cut out a lot of the processed foods and stay away from sugars for the most part. I drink only water and juice once a day (5 carrots, 1 green apple, 1" ginger root, handful of parsley and 1/2 beet with greens. I get plenty of rest (although I've always had a hard time feeling rested) but not sure if the eyes have anything to do with rest. It seems more like it has to do with something else internally. What advice can you give and what supplements would you recommend. I'm currently taking your Multi-Vitamins and Minerals formula along with your VITAMIN B COMPLEX (which I love them both). Have been on them for about 1 1/2 weeks now I guess. I also take your CANDIDA BUSTER and the COLON FORMULA (I was having a problem with constipation for the past couple months, did some of your recommended enemas but for some reason my body still seems to get stopped up easily lately).

Q: I have a problem, I had a boil my groin area, around early Feb. I Went to the doctor, and he told me I had staff infection. He gave me some antibiotics. This made it worst. I went back, and they gave me more antibiotics, and ointment. After a week it seemed to be working, but it started to make me itch, and a rash came on my penis. The rash went away, left dead skin, and came back. It seems like jock itch. What herbs can I take?

Q: I have been dealing with a clogged milk duct, on my left areola. My 9 month old daughter, got a virus last Thursday, and was vomiting non stop for 3 hours. We rushed her to emergency, and they were able to stop the vomiting, and get her rehydrated. Then I got sick, followed by my husband. As a result of her vomiting, she didn't nurse as often, and I became engorged. I noticed pain, and a small lump with pus. I did some research, and figured it was a blocked duct. I massaged, applied warm compresses, tried to pump, and nurse, but it seems to have gotten worse. Yesterday there was a great deal of pus that discharged from the end of my areola. Upon massaging the area, the pus that was dislodged, created a hole there. The nurse is telling me I need to go to the Dr. and get antibiotics. I do not have a temperature, but I don't want things to get worse. I am still nursing, but it is painful. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to remedy this? I read that taking 4-5 cloves of garlic acts as a antibiotic naturally.

    A:

Mastitis, is inflammation of the breast. Inflammation is caused by mucus, and mucus is the result of an acidic body predicated upon an acidic diet. A diet high in animal products, (meat and dairy products), as well as refined grains, starches, and effervescent acidic beverages can cause this. Many times, mastitis denotes that an injury is present. The pus actually serves to help out in the situation. Doctors will prescribe antibiotics for mastitis. Since when have antibiotics been able to get rid of mucus and pus? Never! So why would a woman take antibiotics for an inflammation problem? There are natural remedies for mastitis, just as there are for every other breast complaint. If you suffer from mastitis, especially while breastfeeding, start consuming Mulein leaf tea, (3-5 cups daily) Mucus Buster, (capsules and/or tea, 6-9 capsules daily or 3-5 cups per day). You don't want to breastfeed if pus is coming out of the nipples. Instead make an alternative milk (see our article Alternative Infant Formula Milk) to feed the baby while you are healing your breasts. Think positive too! Consider our "Mental Science Manual" e-book to help get and keep your mind right!
