Male Pattern Baldness

0-890366455-hair

Baldness is a term that refers to a partial or complete absence of hair. Baldness can start with thinning of the hair and progress into more severe thinning and baldness. Both men and women can suffer from this condition.

Male pattern baldness is responsible for up to 95% of hair thinning in men. Hair usually begins receding away from the normal hair line or thinning on the top of the head. As the thinning and receding progress, baldness occurs.

Causes

Male pattern baldness has a variety of possible causes. One cause is genetics. Scientists have discovered that baldness can be the result of a specific gene. The hormone DHT is the prime suspect in this condition. DHT is a male sex hormone that affects body and facial hair growth as well as function of the prostate. It is believed that the DHT hormone can shorten the growth phase of hair production, causing the hair grow properly.

Other potential causes of baldness or hair thinning can include:

  • Major trauma to the body such as surgery, poisoning or severe stress
  • Chemotherapy
  • Medications for blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and heart disease
  • Hormones found in steroids and acne medications
  • Poor nutrition
  • Deficiencies in vitamins and minerals
  • Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid)
  • External debris and toxins

Poor lifestyle plays a very prominent role or part in male baldness. Diets high in meat and refined foods, hormonal imbalances, stress and mineral deficiencies can affect male pattern baldness.

While stress is an ever-present part of life today, it can be a hindrance to our bodies and minds. The stresses of jobs, family, money and health can cause a great deal of problems to our health. Learning how to prevent and handle stress is the only way to get ahead of the problems it can cause.

Natural Solutions

In order to alleviate male pattern baldness, getting ahead of the condition is key. Learn to treat your body with respect and care. Feed the body nutritious foods, avoid added hormones, reduce stress and pay attention to your environment.

There are many great ways to combat stress. Try incorporating stress-reducing techniques into your everyday life. These therapies not only clear and relax the mind; they help keep the body strong and healthy.

Yoga works wonders against stress. Daily yoga practice can give you a chance to clear your mind and focus on breathing and inner health. Yoga is also an excellent form of exercise. The practice keeps the body limber and toned.

Meditation creates mental blocks to thoughts that lead to stress. It can also lead to answers to problems that are the source of our stress. Practice meditation to help increase positive thinking.

Massage therapy is excellent in combating stress. Massage can release negative energy stored at a cellular level. Body tension and stress can cause our minds to work less clearly and can lead to additional health problems.

Aromatherapy is very effective in relieving stress. Some stress relieving essential oils that may be beneficial to you are:

  • Lavender
  • Amyris
  • Aniseed
  • Benzoin
  • Cananga
  • Champaca
  • Pink Grapefruit
  • Lisea Cubeba
  • Valerian
  • Vanilla

These oils can be mixed together and inhaled or diffused with a diffuser. Aromatherapy works almost instantly in clearing the mind and relaxing the body.

Herbal therapy is another way to help the body adapt to stressful situations and increase resistance to stress. Herbs to help with stress are:

  • Kava Kava
  • Valerian Root
  • St. John’s Wort
  • Passionflower
  • Lavender Flower
  • Blue Vervain
  • Wild Lettuce
  • Jatamansi
  • Hops
  • Scullcap
  • Cinnamon
  • Chamomile
  • Oatstraw

Try creating a stress relieving tea with some of the natural herbs. This can help to relax you throughout the day.

Crystal therapy can provide immense relief of stress on an energetic level. Stress causes misalignment of the charkas, which causes imbalance. Crystals or gemstones that help with natural healing of stress include:

  • Amethyst
  • Bloodstone
  • Cacite
  • Celestite
  • Hematite
  • Malachite
  • Moonstone
  • Obsidian
  • Peridot
  • Rhodonite
  • Rose Quartz
  • Sugalite

Imaginative therapy, which is using the imagination as a therapy, can be a great form of positive thinking. Stressful situations are the result of unconscious thoughts that create or lead to stress. Start thinking positive thoughts instead of negative thoughts. When negative thoughts arise in your mind, try replacing them with something more positive and uplifting. Positive thinking and thoughts greatly help to eradicate stress.

When treating your hair, use only all-natural products that don’t contain harmful, synthetic ingredients. Allowing the scalp to breathe can help the hair to grow properly. Try using natural coconut and sheaf oils on the hair for styling instead of the usual pomades and gels.

A high alkaline diet will greatly neutralize stress. The body is impacted differently and responds differently when your body is alkaline. A high alkaline diet would consist of plenty of green vegetables and eliminating meat, dairy products and starches. Avoid sugar, table salt, vinegar, alcoholic beverages, eggs, soda, refined grains and complex carbohydrate products. These foods impair overall health and can affect hair growth.

DHerbs Solution

DHerbs suggests an overall healthy diet and lifestyle as a way to combat male pattern baldness. Be sure to eat right, avoid stress and keep hormones balanced. While genetics cannot be changed, we can help alleviate the condition by keeping our bodies healthy.

Q: I have experienced dramatic hair loss in the last 7 months. The Dr.'s says it's stress. I have since eliminated stress, started working out, detoxing (ionic foot bath), and eliminating the bad foods. I have been known to eat excessively in the past. Im just not sure, if it is not my hormones off track, because of the poor diet, then what. Although, I believe that poor diet leads to any illness now. I would like to find one product that can focus on the bigger picture for me which is complete well being to STOP the hair loss and grow my hair back as thick and strong as it has always been. When the hair loss started I noticed constipation at the same time. The constipation is slowly getting better, but the hair loss really concerns me. I am a model, and my hair is my trademark. Do you know of any reputable naturalpaths in Atlanta? Is there a product of yours that you could suggest?

    A:

Usually, the hormones are out of balance, usually the ovaries. Hair loss is a sign of degeneracy at the sexual reproductive level. Rebuild the endocrine system. Start by cleansing the body. Start by detoxing (Full Body Detox) followed by performing the Total Woman Cleanse. Also, learn to focus on what you desire (beautiful and healthy hair) and not what you don't want (hair fallout, hair problems). Our Mental Science Manual is good reading for healing with the mind in addition to herbs and other things.

Q: I was online searching for some natural treatments for hair growth in Black Men when I came across your article. I must say that I believe it was so on point that I decided not to look any further. I'm 44 years of age and started noticing my hair thinning when about 12 years ago. I was one of those that you wrote about in your article chasing a lifestyle that is no longer an interest to me. I did fall into some bad habits that were not good for my health off and on over the past 15 years or so more off than on. My body type I would describe as athletic. I'm tone, and strong when I exercise regularly. I'm about 150lbs @ 5'11". My diet is mostly vegetables but from time to time I feel I have to eat fish or chicken. Not necessarily prepared in the healthiest way I'm sure. I just got out of one of my "on" spells so to speak. Meaning the drinking of beer and cigarettes. I've been smoking and drinking beer now since September 2006 after not having done anything but live healthy for six years before that. As soon as my wife and I came back to the states and started working and runnign again these old destructive habits appeared again in my life. I only blame myself though. Right now my hair and skin suffer from the chemical poisoning from the habits that I just mentioned. I am prepared to take your advice about righteous living to heart and start fresh again. Is there a mild remedy that can work with me to stimulate the re-growth of my hair in the spots where it is balding in that classic balding pattern? I am generally very healthy when I doing right and even now rarely get sick. But my sickness manifest in stress and bad habits to num the pain of having to live this way when don't really want to. I quit the job that I've been working for the past 4 years for that reason and have been blessed to have some time not to grind everyday chasing after money. Now is a crucial time of healing for me, and I must take full advantage of the time. Moderation is in order for whatever you can suggest for me in the way of herbal remedies. I am sure that you can prescribe a simple overall regiment for my overall health based on what I have shared with you with an emphasis on the hair and skin. Again, thank you for writing the article. Call or write. The sooner the better.......Thank You!!

I would say first detox with the FULL BODY DETOX and get your diet right CONSISTENTLY! Constantly clean your temple! This is key! Next, perform the TOTAL MALE CLEANSE. After this, do a daily regimen of HAIR SKIN NAILS FORMULA, ELECTRIC GREENS CELL FOOD, KHEMETIAN GOLD, and MSM SULFUR. Forgive yourself of past self-inflicted harm! Stop worrying about your hair loss. Start visualizing your hair growing back. If you can see it, you will achieve it! The mind is all and problems and remedies begin in the mind! BTW: we offer phone consultations if you're interested.

Q: I wrote to you earlier tonight regarding my hair has recently been thinning quite a bit. I forgot to tell you that I have been periodically been dying (coloring my hair) because I have so much grey coming in. I am 40 years old and my hair is quite grey without the coloring. I recently switched to a brand that I bought in the health food store. Tell me is my hair falling out because I have been coloring it? I just started coloring it the past four years due to greying. (I know young girls color their hair all the time just to experiment. I colored because of the grey). Is the coloring getting me in trouble and causing the hair fall out. I color it myself not professionally. Tell me should I just stop all together with the coloring? What do you recommend to restore my hair?

    A:

You cannot regain your hair without regaining your overall health including your hormonal health. First, detoxify your whole body (see Full Body Cleanse). Follow the Full Body Clease with the Female Cleanse.

After these 2 cleanses (which we highly recommend) your monthly regimen should consist of the following Dherbs formulas: Thyroid Aid, Vitamin C, Electric Greens, Hair, Skin, Nails Formula and Female Hormonal Formula.

Only use natural hair products (shampoo and conditioner). Don't process your hair as much. Avoid harsh chemicals on your hair.

Q: I recently purchased the FULL BODY DETOX and ANTI-VIRAL CLEANSE AND REGIMEN. I totally understand that healing is holistic and that changes must occur in diet, lifestyle, and only positive thinking will result in optimal health. I am noticing balding on the right side of my head. Of all the hair care products provided by dherbs.com, I was curious to know if using any of the dherbs.com hair herbs would affect the detox/cleansing regime? If not which would be the most effective in assisting me with hair loss? (Due to financial limitations I can't afford to purchase them all because I just purchased an alkaline water machine that set a brother back)Aside from performing the anti-viral cleanse regime. I eat plenty of cilantro and parsley, drink half my body weight in alkaline water daily, and eliminate stressors out of my life. I was interested in knowing what other follow up actions can I take to help assist me in overcoming this trial (virus) that has changed my life for the better.

    A:

You have the right attitude and spirit! Kudos to you. For the hair inquiry, you can drink the HAIR-SKIN-NAILS TEA during your detox. In re additional pointers, work on your mind-reprogramming it. Use daily affirmations! Reinvent yourself. Meditate! Perform yoga! perform the "SEA SALT SOAKS" daily! Keep getting knowledge! Just be creative and follow!

Q: I was just released from the hospital from having chest pains (stress related this time, next time I might not be so lucky. I am currently 280 pounds and on a rack of prescription drug for diseases ranging from diabetes, cholesterol, high blood pressure, anemia, depression and the list goes on. I am thinking about doing the Full Body Detox Kit but I am afraid. How will this interact with the prescription medication I am currently on and is it possible to find out what the instructions will be before I actually purchase the product?

    A:

Your main aim should be to release weight. Obesity is your major problem.

If you are afraid of performing the Full Body Detox, how can I help you? Fear shuts the body down, so why even bother taking something natural that will help you. People are afraid of the wrong things. You should be afraid of taking all of those drugs which can kill you. Read my article "Iatrogenics." Drugs can't help you because your body is organic and not made up of drugs, so in reality, you're only poisoning yourself. If you are thinking about performing the Full Body Detox and still taking drugs while doing so, don't bother! Don't waste your money! It defeats the whole purpose to take drugs and herbs simultaneously. Herbs heal and cleanse, drugs pollute.

Fear results from ignorance. Educate yourself about herbs. Read our free articles.
