Raw Soup: Your New Favorite Cleansing Meal

Raw Soup: Your New Favorite Cleansing Meal

While you’re cleansing, you may have the thought, “I just don’t think I can eat another salad.” Well, you don’t have to because you can start making raw soups. What are raw soups? You essentially puree all the ingredients that you want in your soup and pour it directly into a bowl instead of heating it in a saucepan on the stove. Sounds delicious, right? In case you were wondering, the correct answer is “yes.”

Benefits of Raw Soup

When you cook food, you slowly kill the nutrients. By definition, a raw soup is uncooked, meaning that those nutrients stay plentiful. Making a raw soup also takes no time at all because you just pulse everything in a blender and you’re good to go.

Can You Warm Raw Soup?

You cannot put your soup in a pan to cook it and there shall be no microwaving, but you can do something else that is pretty cool. Once your soup is thoroughly blended, run your blender on high and to slightly warm up the soup. Don’t go crazy because you don’t want to destroy the nutrients, or your blender.

Because we don’t want to throw you into the world of raw soups without a little guidance, we have a delicious recipe for you. The main ingredient, which serves as the base, is sweet potato.

Sweet Potato Benefits

Sweet potatoes are a great weight loss food because they are low in fat and much healthier than your average Idaho/white potato. Rich in vitamins A, B5, B6, thiamin, niacin, and carotenoids, sweet potatoes are antioxidant powerhouses. They can help maintain healthy eyesight and have many anti-aging benefits.

Because a soup may not be very filling, there are some essential components you need in order to make a sustaining meal. A balanced vegetable soup should include:

  • Water
  • Vegetables
  • Fat (as in avocados or nuts)
  • Sea salt
  • Citrus Juice
  • Seasonings
