Smoothies With 5 Ingredients That Look Too Good To Drink

Sometimes you just get a craving for certain flavors. Whether you are in need of something sweeter or need some extra greens in your daily diet, look to smoothies to make your dreams come true. Well, that might be an overstatement, but smoothies truly are a great way to help kick-start your day.

 

Before we give you the actual smoothie recipes, we have a couple smoothie tips to help with the blending process. If you have a VitaMix, you can disregard the following information. Those blenders are monsters and can tackle anything. If you have a regular blender, add the ingredients and liquid to the blender and pulse away. Then add the ice or frozen ingredients and blend until you get a smooth consistency.

 

Sometimes adding protein powder to a smoothie can result in chalky clumps. To avoid this, mix the powder with your liquid of choice in the blender first and then add the rest of the smoothie ingredients. If you are one of those people who like to use almond milk in smoothies, it is best to make your own. Most commercial almond milks contain processed ingredients or added sugars. Fruity Smoothies

Orange Mango Smoothie:

No need to use any store-bought orange juice for this recipe; just hit the produce aisle and make some of that homemade almond milk.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of homemade almond milk
  • 1 cup mango
  • 1 orange, peeled
  • 1 banana, frozen overnight
  • 1 date

 

Hazelnut Oats & Blueberries:

If you aren’t in the mood to eat some hot oatmeal, blend some oats in your smoothie. This is a great way to fill up and get a sweet, nuttiness to your smoothie.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 banana, frozen overnight
  • 1 cup homemade almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon hazelnuts
  • ¼ cup steel cut oats

 

Wake Up With Sweetness:

There is no more classic smoothie combination than strawberries and bananas. They make any smoothie taste good. Add in the raw coconut flakes and goji berries and you’ve got yourself a superfood smoothie.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup strawberries
  • ½ cup banana, frozen and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons goji berries
  • 3 tablespoons raw coconut flakes
  • 1 cup homemade almond milk

 

Green Smoothies

Protein & Greens:

While you will be getting some plant-based protein from the spinach, you can add more, if you want, by using a plant-based powder. If you are opposed to protein powder, you can use some hempseeds or flaxseeds.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cucumber
  • 1 cup homemade almond milk
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 banana, frozen overnight
  • 1 scoop Dherbs CocoHemp powder, or 2 tablespoons hempseeds

 

Green Machine:

This isn’t your regular green smoothie. The cucumber in the smoothie gives it a refreshing taste and makes it a little lighter. It’s definitely packed with some nutrients!

Ingredients:

  • ½ banana
  • 2 romaine leaves
  • 1 apple, cored
  • ½ cucumber
  • 1 cup organic, unsweetened coconut water

 

Minty Tropical Smoothie:

Did you know that mint is great for calming your stomach? Additionally, the pineapple in this smoothie helps to regulate digestion and boost metabolism.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pineapple
  • ½ banana
  • ½ cup mint
  • 2 kale leaves, stems removed
  • 1 cup organic, unsweetened coconut water

    Q: Thanks for all of the information which is very beneficial I must say. My question to you is what's the best type of aloe vera juice to drink? Also I have heard that the gel from the plant can be mixed into a smoothie, is that true? Greetings! As far as the best brand I really wouldn't know as there are a few good brands on the market. Just make sure your aloe vera juice is at 99% pure and with no additives. Aloe gel can be added to a fruit smoothie though

    Q: I purchased the children's detox and received it a couple of days ago. After reading the pamphlet that came with it, I was wondering where/what kind of milk can I purchase for my baby while she is on the detox? For example it said almond, soy, rice milk... can I buy the regular boxed almond, soy, rice milk? Or if I am going to use coconut milk, can I use the canned coconut milk?

    Yes, you can use almond, coconut, or any other nut milk. We do not reccomend soy.

    Q: I just ordered the FULL BODY DETOX and I know there's a dietary regimen that I will have to follow. I was wondering if you would approve of a protein shake that consist of (raw hemp protein powder, raw almond butter, sea salt, flax seed, 100% young coconut water & meat inside the coconut, raw carob powder,) (optional soy or rice milk or soy or rice cream)

    Doesn't sound like it will mess up your FULL BODY DETOX. Go for it! But leave out the rice/soy cream! The rice milk is okay (but it is processed/cooked)!

    Unfortunately, store brought almond milk is not allowed within the raw food diet. The only way of knowing that the milk is raw, natural, not pasteurized and does not contain any preservatives is if it's homemade.     Ideally, to make a smoothie, use a base (some kind of fruit juice, water, or nut milk), add some frozen fruit or non-frozen fruit (your favorite fruit), add a little ice and BLEND (for about 1 minute)! Wa la ... you have a fruit smoothie!

    Q: I see also that you recommend a complete diet with these programs. I am guessing its a vegan diet right? I wanted to ask something on that is coconut milk and coconut oils ok for that? I personally had a very hard time trying to eat that many vegetables and many ph balance vegans seem to think fruits aren?t good either. I eat that many vegetables one it tears me up the next day and two I just cant consume enough calories that way. I can try and make up for it by eating things like almonds but I eat to many almonds I get the same problem the next day. Now coconut milk (unsweetened) and a digestive enzyme works for me for picking up extra calories.... but I hear very conflicting information about coconut and its saturated fat content. Is it ok to use daily as a part of the diet for cleansing? And your oxy-drops are those the same as the drop for ph balancing water?? Or is it something different? I am wanting to start lifting weights as I need to put on some muscle and I?m wondering if its something that would be beneficial in combating muscle soreness by increased oxygen in the body.

    The diet we recommend is vegan-based, and RAW FOODS. Fresh fruits, vegetables, raw nuts and seeds are ideal.

    Coconut Milk and Coconut Oil are excellent products to have in your diet. The healthy fats will keep you fuller.

    Hi! Thanks for the question. The chia shake should be fine as long as the chia is soaked in the drink.

    Eating small seeds like chia and flax seeds can go through digestion whole and be wasted. Soaking, sprouting, and grinding before consumption increases the likely hood that the small seeds will get digested and their nutrients utilized properly.

    Q: Hello I am on day TWO of 10-DAY SUPREME COLON CLEANSE;. May I eat a half cup rolled organic rolled oats a day. I eat the oats to provide fuel just before my two hour core ,spinning and rowing class. May I continue to drink Ivy's drink ? It's 1 tablespoon of Spirulina Powder, 2 tablespoons Psyllium Husk , 2 tablespoons Aloe Vera 1/4 cup of apple juice and 2 tablets of 450 mg Cascara Sagrada ? Look forward to your response.

    You are free to eat as you please via free will. But we suggest the eating recommendations for a reason. The oats are okay (except they create mucus) and the Ivy's Drink is okay (nothing adverse to the cleanse)and sounds like a pretty healthy tonic.

    Q: I am the proud purchaser of your FBC system. My husband will be starting the regiment soon. His occupation requires him to work 6p to 6a, thus he sleeps during the day Fri - Mon. The other 3 days he is on a more "normal" schedule. My concern is around what times he should consume his meals/supplements. As you can see, Breakfast and lunch could pose a problem . I am worried that his meals (Smoothies) will throw off his sleep cycle as well. What times frames should he eat at? Do some {raw} ingredients wake you up more? Please advise.

    A: Thank for contacting us.  We're happy to hear that you were satisfied with the Cleanse and recommended your husband to do it.  He can adjust the intake of the capsules according to his personal schedule. If he works overnight and is asleep during the day, he can start the regimen when he is up. He should just be sure that he's consuming the formula's every 2-3 hours as instructed.   There are raw foods that helps naturally provide the body with more energy, but they're not the same as consuming caffeinated beverages that would keep him up.  Most raw foods just have multiple benefits.  The Cleanse also helps improve your sleep.

    Use 1 cup of fruit juice (of your liking), 1 cup of frozen fruit (i.e. banana, strawberries, mango, etc.), 1 cup of ice (optional). Blend for about 30 seconds! Drink and enjoy!

    Q: Fresh fruit is mentioned in the full body cleanse literature, but I didn't see anything about frozen fruit. Can I use frozen fruit during the fbc?

    A: We don't recommend consuming foods that are frozen or canned. Consuming fresh foods is always best as you're only consuming foods that are alive and provide your body with a benefit.  There's no way of knowing the quality or state of the foods before its frozen or canned.
