The 5 Beauty Benefits Of Beeswax

beeswax

Bees are incredible creatures, but bee populations have slowly dwindled in recent years. Now more than ever, it is important to support the products from beekeepers and their hives around the world. Sure, we can all purchase honey at farmer’s markets, but honey is far from the most beneficial substance that bees create. Beeswax deserves the same respect, if not more, that we give to honey because it helps the skin in so many ways. For instance, unlike petroleum jelly, beeswax doesn’t suffocate the skin; rather, it allows the skin to breathe while also providing a moisturizing protective barrier.

What Is Beeswax?

This healing substance comes from female honeybees and it is hard or breakable when cold, but soft when heated. It is a mixture of pollen, plant wax, and the secretion from the gland on the undersides of bees. Like honey, beeswax will vary in color depending on the flowers from which the honey is derived. Beeswax is commonly used to relieve swelling or skin irritation, but it also moisturizes, improves complexion, and relieves inflammation. How else can beeswax be used? Let’s explore the beauty benefits of beeswax below. How’s that for alliteration?!

Excellent Moisturizer:

Beeswax is commonly found in cosmetic products because it has the ability to protect and repair dry or damaged skin. The rich vitamin A content and emollient properties help beeswax lock in the moisture and allow your skin to breathe simultaneously. The beauty of beeswax is that it doesn’t clog the pores and aids with healthy skin development at a cellular level.

Protect Against Environmental Damage:

When you apply beeswax with some carrier oils like jojoba oil or coconut oil, it helps to establish a protective coating on the skin. The skin is constantly exposed to airborne toxins, be they from cigarette smoke, factory fumes, or car exhaust, and they can spawn damaging free radicals that contribute to premature signs of aging. Applying beeswax on the skin can help prevent this from happening and keep the skin looking young and supple.

Reduce Stretch Marks:

Even though a high percentage of people have stretch marks, their appearance makes people uncomfortable and self-conscious. Because beeswax has the ability to protect the skin and help it retain water, it can have positive effects on getting rid of stretch marks. How does this work? According to a study that was conducted at Yonsei University College of Medicine in Korea, stretch marks are dermal atrophic scars caused by decreased collagen and skin elasticity. Since beeswax is rich in vitamin A, an antioxidant that boosts collagen production, it is beneficial for reducing stretch marks. Combine beeswax with coconut oil or cocoa butter and apply it to the stretch marks for best results.

Clears Up Acne:

Due to the antiseptic, healing, anti-inflammatory properties, and high vitamin A content, beeswax is commonly used in home remedies to get rid of acne. In addition to fighting acne, beeswax contains emollient properties that contribute to a smoother complexion after acne elimination.

Soothes Eczema, Psoriasis, & Diaper Rash:

It is almost inevitable for a baby to experience diaper rash at some point. The regenerative qualities and anti-inflammatory properties of beeswax work to not only decrease redness and irritation, but also to facilitate the healing process for reduced recovery time. People with psoriasis or eczema, or similar skin irritation or infection, can benefit from using beeswax to reduce inflammation and promote the growth of healthier skin cells.

Q: When I use the OZ OIL my outer skin is very soft and subtle. However deep down in the skin I feel very itchy. I have been assuming this is the effect of the oil doing its job. After a few weeks I got the feeling that I should try to loofa off the top layers of skin so the under skin could rejuvenate its self. I suppose I am writing because I want to check to make sure that the deep itching truly is a positive healing process before I purchase another bottle. Also to prompt you for any other ideas you might have to help my condition. It is purely beauty based btw I don't have any skin illness.

    A:

The itching is a natural side effect that a healing crisis is taking place. Keep using the Oxy Oil at your discretion.

Q: First of all hello and thank you for the FULL BODY DETOX. I completed the full detox August 5, 08 and found it extremely beneficial, again, thank you. Please let me know your opinion regarding the "Abgone" Extra Strength pill that reportedly promotes pot belly loss (the one issue I continue to confront). I exercise, I do yoga and I jog four times weekly 3 miles. Never the less I still have a "pot belly". I contacted "Biotech Research" and was advised that this is an all natural product. The ingredients are said to be Vitamin C, Zinc, Chromium Polynitic, Phofphatidylserine, Clabcaa, Dandelion Powder, 99% Caffeine, Green Tea Extract, The capsule is made of soybean, beeswax, gelatin, glycerin and red dye #40. Please respond at your earliest convenience.

    A:

That product ABGONE is crap due to the ingredients. No product is your solution, but the mind (thoughts, attitude), diet, lifestyle, etc. Stop worrying about the pot belly and focus on your desired state. Only see your results in your mind and you will attract the results on the material plane. Please read through some of our articles, beloved!

Q: I think this way is easier and faster to have your response. I currently have many skin problems. I first started having body rash and eczema around my lips. When the skin gets dry, it hurts, and I've been trying to moisturize the skin with using all natural Burt's Bees andor Hugo natural lotion, cream or oil. I tried sea salt soak and been taking Sen-Fen, Blood formula, Immune support, Anti-Viral, but it's not working and the symptoms haven't gotten better at all. My entire body is really itchy from rash, so I haven't been able to sleep well for the past 2-3 weeks. If you have any suggestions for life style, special drinks and foods or products I can use, please let me know asap.

    A:

Greetings! You skin problems are explained in the article "SKIN DISORDER = BLOOD DISORDER" which I suggest you read. (visit articles section). When there's no physical healing, check the mind. Check out the NEW MENTAL SCIENCE MANUAL and there is a chapter in there on using the mind to heal. Basically you are focusing too much on the problem and not the solution which is optimal health and well-being. You are telling yourself how you don't want these problems and by saying this subconsciously, you are keeping the problems. Have your permanently switched or changed your diet? If not, what are you waiting for? Your blood is begging to be purified. Herbs alone won't get the job done. Let go of worrying about the problem. Focus on enjoying life, getting back in balance and you will begin to heal!

Q: I would like to know, if you have any skin care programs, for women age 50 and over. I am going to try the detox progarm as soon as possible. I truly believe that I am going to be very happy with the results. I am 51 years old, and I want to look and feel my best. I have a lot of belly fat, and that makes me feel uncomfortable, because some people will ask me, if I am pregnant. This seems very strange to me, because my stomach seems to be the main place, where all the fat is building up. I desire to have beauty inside and out. I want to be completely whole. If you have tips for skin care and body care, please let me know. Some people say that I look like I am in my forties, however, if I did not have all of this extra body fat, I could really believe what they are saying.

    A:

The blood needs to be cleansed in order to enhance your skin and eliminate excess fat.

We would recommend you perform the Full Body Cleanse which can help improve skin complexion, release weight, and detoxify, purify, rejuvenate, and strengthen the body and all of its eliminative channels.

We also have a Facial Skin Kit that works to naturally restore the health of skin by helping to remove blemishes, hydrate skin, and even out complexion for resilient skin.

I started to have lots of greens juices these days, and my skin has improved a little bit. What about spices such a cayenne pepper, is it bad for your skin? What about goji berries? I know they are diet fruits, thats why I stay away from them for a while. I even fast for a while. I just don't know how my skin can getter better.

Q: I am a 49 yr. old black female. When I was younger I had severe cystic acne that left me with what the dermatologist calls "ice pick scaring" and enlarged pores. I had 2 full face dermabrasions in my 30s and have been on retina A from then up until now. I have a pretty healthy diet and exercise routine. My Father and a couple of Uncles of mine also had the same type of skin problems, left with the same aftermath. I use French green clay masks which slightly reduce the look of the large pores and a sugar, honey, and lemon scrub (I make it at home) and I use it on my face. I'm not unattractive, but my skin looks rough and dull and pitted on my cheeks and nose. All the doctors talk about scar revision (cutting),laser treatments, chemical peels, and all sorts of invasive surgeries. I don't want to go that route again and I feel bad about the way I look sometimes. Are there ANY suggestions that you can give that will help me?

    A:

SKIN PROBLEMS ARE UNDERLYING BLOOD PROBLEMS. CLEANSE YOUR BLOOD, GIVE YOUR BODY NUTRITION. STEAM YOUR FACE. KEEP CLAYING YOUR FACE. IMPROVE UPON YOUR DIET GO ALL RAW FOODS OR VEGAN DIET). A GOOD ARTICLE TO READ IS â€SKIN RASH†ON OUR SITE UNDER ARTICLES.

Q: I am listening to you on Rainbow soul talking about cellulite and stretch marks and it sounds as if you have just given up on the black female race like there is no help for big women.

    A:

Dherbs.com: I haven't given up on big Black women at all. The fact is that most big Black women BLACK discipline and will not do what is necessary. The simple fact that they blew up in the first place says a lot (i.e. poor self-esteem, low self-image, unhappiness, undisciplined, etc.)

That is another story though cause I'm not big AT ALL!! but I am a black female.

Dherbs.com: I'm writing an article soon on Black women and obesity: causes/origins, dangers, and solutions. Now does this sound like I have given up????

ANYWAY - my question to you is - Since January 8, 2007 I stopped eating meat and I saw a tremendous result in my complaint areas.

    Dherbs.com: Good for you!

Now I'm pregnant and read that protein develops the babies brain so I started eating meat until I have the baby.

Dherbs.com: LORD HAVE MERCY!!!! I greatly disagree with this, but it's your choice. I have 3 vegan-vegetarian children. Their mothers didn't eat meat during their pregnancies. You don't have to worry about the development of your baby's brain. The body intelligence has that covered. Meat is not protein unless you eat it raw (but the WHOLE animal must be eaten)!!!

Is it safe to drink protein shakes to replace the protein instead of eating meat?

Dherbs.com: You can't get bio-protein from protein shakes. Protein shakes are made from waste products (i.e. radiated soy, whey, etc.). If you really want natural proteon, check out our Bio-Protein we sell. It's 100% all-natural. But remember, protein is in every natural food you eat. How do herbivore animals in the wild get their protein since they don't eat meat???

Meat for protein is a great conspiracy and propaganda tactic. Read Dherbs articles "PROTEIN PROPAGANDA" and "THE DANGERS OF EATING MEAT."

Regardless of how you view me, thank you for your interest in Dherbs.Com!

Q: I would like to know if that was you on the Al Sharpton show, Monday morning. The show is called “keeping it realâ€. My second question is, do you have any products that would help melasma. So many black women and men suffer with this [facial] hyperpigmentation. The only product that I know that really helps is hydroquinone that many women use today to lighten [bleach] their skin tones. I do not want to use it for that purpose; I have a beautiful skin tone. I just need to lighten the pigmentation that has changed my complexion. The darken colorations make me look older than what I am. I see a lot us blacks with this problem. It is unfortunate that the only product that seems to alleviate the problem is not safe. By the way, I do use sunscreen, only on my face; I allow the rest of my skin to get some sun for its great vitamin D benefits. Thanks

    A:

Work on cleansing your blood, as the skin manifests the condition of the blood. Try our Blood & Lymphatic Formula.

Q: I want to find out about skin lightening or evening out my skintone. I am a dark skinned 46 year old black female, I do not use bleaching creams because they are cancerous, and I think that it borders on black female self hatred, But I have uneven, and very dry dark skin color, I would like to get my skin all to one tone, and moist and healthy. Do you have any ideas, or recipes for a natural bleaching cream?

    A:

Skin tone changes based upon life changes, just as your hands change based upon life changes. Live healthy, holistic, and everything will come back into balance. You see, evidently you did something for the skin to become uneven, after all, the skin was not always uneven. Something happened based upon what was going on in your life, and things you were doing and thinking. Go back to that period and reflect and start from there. Do the reverse and the healing will begin.

Q: I'm in my last two days of the full body detox and my skin is just glowing outside of the two huge cystic acne pimples that popped up around day 6. They have not made any signs of going down, despite the facial steaming, Bentonite clay, peroxide, etc. Any suggestions?

    A:

You should perform 1. FULL BODY DETOX. 2. TOTAL WOMAN CLEANSE. Drink FEMALE HEALTH TEA daily. Also, use FEMALE BREAST OIL as well. SUGGESTION: Be patient and don't focus on the pimple. You are creating a block to your healing!
