Some people think that Thanksgiving is only about the turkey, but this holiday is truly all about the sides. Sides comprise the majority of a Thanksgiving feast. Some sides get more love than others because you just can’t seem to get enough of them. What are you bringing to your Thanksgiving gathering this year? If you don’t know we have some killer sides that you can make. Your side dish might even be the life of the party.

 

Most Thanksgiving sides are loaded with fats, unhealthy carbs, and tons of dairy products. A lot of people will argue that those ingredients are what make the dishes taste good. Those ingredients are also the primary cause of weight gain during the holiday season. These dishes, which cause weight gain and impair the digestive system, will more than likely adorn the Thanksgiving table you sit at. You can, however, change the game by making some of our favorite sides. They are truly fantastic.

    Q: Greetings, On May 10th 2003, I was attacked while on my job and I suffered injuries to the lumbar and to the cervical spine. I was given pain management therapy (cortizone) in massive doses; about 18+ injections over a 3-week period in October of the same year. By Thanksgiving, 2003, I was admitted into hospital with blood sugar levels of 800+! While thyroid issues have exhibited in the family, there is no history of diabetes on either the maternal or paternal sides of my family, niether is there any sign of the disease in any of my other 11 siblings, the youngest of which is 40+. At one point, the symptoms of the diabetes dissapeared for 2 years, and reappeared in January of 2007. I am not overweight, nor do I have eccesive body fat. I work out every day with weights, and have the appearance of a body builder, although not excessive. I walk about 3-5 miles every day and have consistently low blood pressure levels, much to the surprise of my doctors. I have and excellent diet; mostly consisting of fresh vegetables and skinless broiled chicken and fish. Some beef with the marble trimmed. I have a normal stool consisting of solid waste, and regularly. I have long suggested that my pancreatic duct(s) are blocked and after reading some of the literature on your website, I am even surer of it. Although the levels lately are starting to stabilize again, I am taking this synthetic insulin, about 3-4 units in the mornings, and before dinner, and about 10-16 units of the overnite insulin. Being well muscled, and not overweight therefore not needing to lose weight, and being totally active, What are my options in assisting me to unblock the pancreatic ducts of what I believe to be the cortizone, as I have spoken to others with the same situation, so that my pancreas may better function? I have also read about some of the other products that may be helpful. I look forward to your response, as I have heard your commercial on KJLH radio.

    Q: I go out of town Saturday the 23rd. I complete my anti-viral kit mon. the 24th. I am also staying out of town thru Thanksgiving at relatives. There will be traditional dinner (turkey, etc.) I will not be able to take my test after I finish this kit on the 24th because I will be out of town. What do you suggest?     Q: What's the best way to start on a vegan/raw food diet? I am not sure what to eat to make sure I would get a nutritious diet-you may not be able to go into that much detail but how can I get sample meal plans for breakfast, lunch and dinner incorporating this type of diet-perhaps there is somewhere on the web I find something like this?     If I do say myself, the best way to start a raw food diet is to be coached by me.     Here are some other tips to get started.

    1: Join a raw food meetup group or community. Surround yourself with supportive people who can point you in the right direction. Try meetup.org or 30bananasaday.com

    3: Start simple with breakfast. Always start your day with a green smoothie. read "Green smoothie revolution" by forget authors name at the moment. heh.

    A sample meal plan would be.

    Breakfast: Green smoothie

    Bridge: raw bar, handful of nuts or seeds, or fruit

    Lunch: Raw wraps made from collard greens. use a base of tahini, hummus, or nut butter. Fill with sprouts and colorful veggies

    Bridge: raw bar, handful nuts or seeds, or fruit

    Dinner: Raw pasta with a large salad

    Snack: Sorbet

    Q: I have the alternative diet and lifestyle manual and want to make sure that this applies to the respiratory condition as well. Can I have the rice bread with no gluten or wheat? or rice pasta being that I have sarcoid? Can I eat cold water fish or venison in small portions along with veggies? What about rice or soy milk or protein whey shake for breakfast once or twice a week? Thank you once again my breathing has improved greatly and I have ordered many more supplies to maintain what I have accomplished thus far due to your regimen. I am not a vegetarian so I want to make sure it is okay to have white meats. I will do whatever I have to do to live.     The manual applies when you are FINISHED with a cleanse or kit. Follow the regimen's diet. It clearly states NO COOKED FOOD. You are asking us about cooked food here. Stick to the diet plan and you will be alright! You are asking about foods no good for your condition. Whey is crap. Meat is no good. Grains are no good for you as well. They all produce too much mucus!

    Q: I have a question for you. I love reading your articles and I was reading about the importance of iodine in a vegan diet. I am vegan and I'm scared I'm getting iodine and you wrote that seaweed would fulfill that need. Did you mean Sushi seaweed, the roasted nori kind? Or fresh seaweed? I haven't been able to find fresh seaweed anywhere, except for already prepared seaweed salad. Also, how would you suggest I use the roasted nori seaweed? In smoothies? Because by itself it does not taste good.

    Q: I am a thirty-year-old female who recently went to the doctor. While at the doctor I told them that I had a fever and white pulse on the sides of my throat.     Q: I usually wear an Afro, but now I keep my hair in braids under a hat. A month ago my hair began to break, and my scalp got very dry. So, I started using shea butter, and olive oil. It started to work, soon after I made the mistake of putting braids, with synthetic fibers in my hair. It tore the sides of my hair out. I have about 6 or more inches of my hair left. What should I do now?

    Q: Happy New Year to You and yours!!! My son is three years old; he was born December 12, 2004, this was a Sunday. Ever since he started talking he's had a fascination with the light and light bulbs. He looks up and says "mom look, the light is beautiful" or "mom see the beautiful light bulb". I look at it and I usually say yes it is beautiful Jordan. However, I do not see what he sees nor do I understand the attraction. When he was two weeks old I took him with me to Olive May and the old wise woman there saw him and asked me to bring him to her. When she looked at him she said "he is indigo--he is like sunshine when he enters a room and people will be drawn to him." So far the part about people being drawn to him has manifest true.     You son is most definitely an INDIGO CHILD (specifically a CRYSTAL or RAINBOW CHILD manifesting all 7 spectrums of color of the Rainbow). His preoccupation with lights could denote many things. For one, he is Light himself (light-worker). It could be that he still remembers the Light before re-incarnating this time around. We all eventually move into the Light in order to move on. Mongolian spot? A very negative term! Buttocks denote an injury that occured on that area in a past life. Birthmarks don't mean something adverse will happen to you in this lifetime where your birthmark is. It doesn't mean this at all. Just be open to experience and learn from and with your child. Live in the moment and just be open!

    Q: I've made a lifestyle change about 8 months ago. I excluded all dairy, wheat, grains, gluten, legumes, sugar, oils (except olive oil). I still eat minimum amount of meat (chicken, fish) maybe 2 -3 times/wk. I'm slowly trying to eliminate meat totally as I only use to make my meals more filling. My plan is to do Ozone Therapy midway through the detox program, which also rid the body of toxins.
