This Drink Can Help Relieve Anxiety & Aid Weight Loss

kava-drink

The kava root is an amazing plant that contains a wide variety of health benefits. It has been used in the Pacific Islands for many years to help improve sleep, protect the kidneys, reduce headache pain, and to help reduce anxiety. It is most commonly made into a tea and has a calming effect on the body when ingested.

What Is Kava Root?

Commonly referred to as kava kava, the kava root is native to the Pacific Islands (Hawaii, American Samoa, and Fiji), where it has been consumed as a ceremonial drink, a tincture, or anti-anxiety aid. It contains minerals, water, starch, dietary fiber, and kavalactones, the latter of which are accessed during the preparation of a kava drink.

Kava root is dried, chopped, ground, or chewed and then placed in water to receive the optimum benefits. It doesn’t taste bad, but it isn’t the most appetizing taste either. Since it isn’t native to the continental United States, you can typically find it in its dried or powdered form in health food stores. We recommend making your own concoction, as opposed to just brewing it into a tea.

A Word Of Caution:

Kava may have possible side effects, which is why everyone shouldn’t use it. Using it for extended periods of time has been known to cause liver damage. Kava should not be combined with alcohol or psychotropic medications. Do not operate heavy machinery after consuming kava because it affects your reaction speed. Some people may be allergic to it as well.

Anxiety Aid:

The calming effects of the kava root are well known in the world of herbal remedies. It helps to slow the release of stress hormones into the bloodstream and helps to keep you calm.

Quit Smoking:

Believe it or not, many people have used kava to help quit smoking cigarettes. By alleviating anxiety and curbing cravings, your desire to smoke begins to dwindle. If you are trying to quit and begin to get nervous or anxious about having a cigarette, turn to kava to help remedy the situation and avoid smoking.

Helping With Weight Loss:

This isn’t actually one of the primary health benefits of the kava root, but it does have to do with the fact that it relieves stress. Excessive snacking or unhealthy eating is a common sign of too many stress hormones in the body. This is where kava can help you lose weight, by helping you to stay calm and sensibly think about when and what you eat.

Ingredients For A Kava Drink:

  • 1 tablespoon kava root powder
  • 8 ounces organic unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon virgin coconut oil
  • organic raw honey, to taste
  • cheesecloth

Instructions:

  • Warm the almond milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Do not let it boil. Remove from the heat once it starts to steam.
  • Add the kava root powder to the saucepan, stir it up, and then pour this mixture into a blender. Blend on high for about two minutes.
  • Place a cheesecloth over a mug and pour your kava/almond milk mixture through it. Add the coconut oil and raw honey and mix well.
  • It is best to enjoy this drink in the evening, or a couple hours before bed.

Q: I want to know what is the difference in using the Wild Alum Root Powder for douching in reference to my prolapsed uterus problem vs. using the FEMALE HEALTH TEA Product that you sell. I would like to know so that I am able to know why and when to use a particular herbal product that will be better for my situation. Your clarity on this for my education will greatly appreciate. Thanks for your time and do have a wonderful day/evening upon receipt of this email. Thanks again for any clarity you can provide so I will better understand why you suggested and advised me to use the Female Health Tea.

    A:

There's really no difference: it's just that wild alum is one herb (and a very good) and the tea I recommended has more herbs which have an affinity for female organs. Both can be used or one over the other.

Q: I am in need of cleansing my body and weight removal! (Removal and not loss because I don't want to find it again)! I need to remove about 80 pounds of unhealthy weight from my body and would like to do so in a natural way. I looked at both your Female Cleanse and the Full Body Cleanse, but don't know which is a better option for me to follow right now? I eat a lot of organic foods, I juice (some) but need to increase my water intake (A LOT). I don't drink much soda at all and when I do it is organic carbonated lemonade. I realize carbonated drinks are not good for us and limit how much I drink. My body lets me know when I have eaten something that is not good for me by causing my hands and feet to swell. To reduce this I drink water. I am allergic to wheat and try to stay away from it as much as possible. I have few ailments and have started working out again (cardio and weight training). I also looked at your weight loss products, but thought I should maybe detox first. What do you think? Any assistance you can offer on your products and which ones I should take is of great appreciation.

A: The best thing for you is the Full Body Cleanse. The Full Body Cleanse will allow you to remove unwanted weight, while also optimizing your entier body so that you can maintain that weight and live a healthier lifestyle.

    A:

Both are good but I'd choose Chaste Tree Berry

Q: I have yellow dock, and bradock root, in root formula. How should I prepare these herbs?

Q: I ordered a bottle of CIGA-QUIT (ANTI-SMOKING) FORMULA. I need to know, if not doing the detox, will they still help you to quit smoking? How long will it take, for it to start working, and do I stop smoking all at once or gradually?

    A:

THIS FORMULA IS ONLY A MAINTENANCE FORMULA! ONE MUST PERFORM THE FULL BODY DETOX FIRST FOR THE CIGA-QUIT (ANTI-SMOKING) FORMULA TO BE EFFECTIVE AS AN MAINTENANCE FORMULA.

Q: We have ordered The Children's Pancreas Kit for my nine year old daughter. My daughter was diagnosed a diabetic last June. We started giving her the 6th formula. The issue we have now, is formula 4 which contains Licorice root. My Daughter is allergic Licorice root". Can we order the kit without Licorice root?

    A:

Unfortunately we don't customize formulas. What you can do is find an extract of Cascara Sagrada, or Senna leaf, and supplement with that product. Just make sure it is alcohol free! You could even just give the child prune juice (perhaps diluted with water) in place of Formula #6.

    Q:

A: No, you cannot consume the almond milk or traditional hummus on the cleanse. You want to avoid store brought beverages, as they contain preservatives and additives that help sustain its shelf life. Hummus is a processed food, but you can consume it if it's prepared raw. Below is a raw food hummus recipe. You can create another type of dip for the vegetables as well such as tomato herb dressing. This dip/salad dressing consists of blending together tomatoes, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, sea salt and any herbs/spices of your choice that does not contain salt. http://dherbs.com/recipes/72/84/Raw-Hummus.html

Q: I commonly get sinuses headaches as a result of congestion. I have a sinus drip which is the root cause of this and as a result I am suppose to take sinus medicines daily. I recently did the 10 day express cleanse during which time I did not have the issue with congestion. Which individual product can be used to resolve my congestion issues?

    A:

The formula's in the 10 Day Cleanse didn't specifically help with your congestion issue, but more so the adjusted diet did. Eliminating certain foods from your diet and eating foods that provide benefits helped decrease the amount of mucus and inflammation in your body. It would be best for you to do the Respiratory Cleanse and Regimen as this specifically helps recondition the lungs and helping with sinus issues.

Q: Recently my dentist said I need a root canal. When he describe the procedure, I was shocked! Can you help? The tooth is located in the rear left-side-lower jaw.

    A:

Dental situations are different from degenerative diseases. You can't take an herb to replace dental work. What exactly did the dentist say? You may not even need the root canal surgery.

Q: Hi, I have been suffering from a dull pain the testicular area for over 2 years now. I have seen 2 urologists that have confirmed that I have enterococcus bacteria in either the prostate of genital area based on semen culture. I have also done testicle ultrasound and CAT scan of the area with good results. One of the urologist said that I have an inflamed prostate (prostitis) there was some varicose veins when ultra sound was done but the urologist continues to give me long term antibiotics. Some my symptoms have been dull pain in the testicular area when I need to have a bowel movement. low energy, moody, memory loss, irritable, confused, brain fog etc. I use to have a health sex drive but now my sex drive is really low. A bit of erectile dysfunction but I think that comes more from having the pain all the time and anxiety. I don't know if this is possible but my penis seems to have reduced in size when erect. The doctor ask me to try some cialis for the ED which I did for a short while but decided I needed something natural because of the long term problems of using those medications. I have had long periods of stress from a bitter business relationship about 2 years ago. My concern is that every time I go to the urologist all they want to do it give me antibiotics and that doesn't seem to be working. I am concern of the other organ damage caused by taking long term antibiotics. Is there an alternative you recommend? I have been looking at your Anti- virus treatment. I am 30 years old.

Q: Hello, I am having some serious issues here. I have a history of depression/anxiety and female problems. About a month ago I had my second miscarriage and after that it seems like my health just went downhill. I was having severe dizziness and headaches and then I started having breathing trouble. The doctors have said it's just bronchitis and my anxiety and that I need to take my meds so I have started back on my antidepressants/anxiety meds. My health doesn't seem to be getting any better. Q: My question is what could be causing my puffy eyes? I've had them for probably 6 or 8 months now (maybe more). They sometimes will have a little darkness added to them. Sometimes I wake up and whatever side I've been laying on, that eye will be even more swollen than the other side, but they are usually the puffiest when I first wake up. Sometimes it looks like I've been bopped in the eye in my sleep. I've cut out a lot of the processed foods and stay away from sugars for the most part. I drink only water and juice once a day (5 carrots, 1 green apple, 1" ginger root, handful of parsley and 1/2 beet with greens. I get plenty of rest (although I've always had a hard time feeling rested) but not sure if the eyes have anything to do with rest. It seems more like it has to do with something else internally. What advice can you give and what supplements would you recommend. I'm currently taking your Multi-Vitamins and Minerals formula along with your VITAMIN B COMPLEX (which I love them both). Have been on them for about 1 1/2 weeks now I guess. I also take your CANDIDA BUSTER and the COLON FORMULA (I was having a problem with constipation for the past couple months, did some of your recommended enemas but for some reason my body still seems to get stopped up easily lately).

Q: I purchased the children's detox and received it a couple of days ago. After reading the pamphlet that came with it, I was wondering where/what kind of milk can I purchase for my baby while she is on the detox? For example it said almond, soy, rice milk... can I buy the regular boxed almond, soy, rice milk? Or if I am going to use coconut milk, can I use the canned coconut milk?

    A:

Yes, you can use almond, coconut, or any other nut milk. We do not reccomend soy.
