An amazing dressing can elevate the flavor profile of a salad, transforming it from a boring plate of veggies to your favorite restaurant dish that you keep coming back for. That’s why we assembled a list of our three favorite dressings, which will enhance some of the best summer produce varieties. Tangy Cilantro Lime Dressing:

Whether you want to enhance plant-based burrito bowls with black beans, romaine, tomatoes, bell peppers, and wild rice, or give your salad a Mexican flare, this is the dressing you need. The tartness from the lime accentuates the herbaceous cilantro flavor.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup cilantro
  • juice of 1 lime (you can use two if you love lime juice)
  • ½ jalapeno, finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon grade A maple syrup
  • ¾ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground mustard seed
  • ½ cup filtered water

Instructions:

  • Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • It will stay fresh in an airtight glass jar in the fridge for 3-4 days.

 

Zesty Cucumber Ranch Dressing:

If you weren’t already seduced by the name of this dressing, let us tell you that this dressing or dip is filled with aromatic herbs and spices that keep you coming back bite after bite.

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup hemp seeds
  • 1 cup cucumber, chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • ¾ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon grade A maple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ cup filtered water

Instructions:

  • Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • It will stay fresh in an airtight glass jar in the fridge for 3-4 days.

 

Creamy Carrot Ginger Dressing:

The bright orange color makes this dressing stand out from the rest. The complex Asian flavors pair beautifully with fresh ingredients, but they can also enhance steamed broccoli, or a give your stir-fry a lil’ somethin’ extra! Just save the cooked foods until your cleanse is over.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large carrots, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons raw tahini
  • 1 tablespoon raw apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon grade A maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup filtered water
  • 1/3 cup homemade coconut milk (click here for recipe)

Instructions:

  • Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • It will stay fresh in an airtight glass jar in the fridge for 3-4 days.

    Q: I started the full body detox today, and found that I DO NOT like the salad dressing I made with the olive oil, apple cider vinegar and lemon juice. I found I could not tolerate it on my salad. What can I do instead? Another question is... I noticed lentils on the food combining chart. Those have to be cooked.     Q: I'm doing the Full Body Cleanse and I have a few questions about it: I get tired of drinking just the distilled water and I'd like to drink the herbal teas, but I don't like it by itself. Would it mess things up to add a pack or two of Splenda to my tea or maybe honey? I can't stand the salads with the olive oil or apple cider vinegar or the lemon juice as dressing and it makes me gag. I have To have some sort of salad dressing. What kind would be suitable? Do I look for sugar-free? Or organic and natural? I found one that is organic and natural, but it has 3 grams of sugar in it.     1. Instead of splenda, use agave, stevia, or grade b maple syrup as a sweetener.

    2. In re Salad Dressing, an organic and natural one is great. You can also check our website for salad dressing recipes.

    3. The fiber pills are not part of the cleanse, so we wouldn't advise those. Fruit is you best choice of fiber so look into eating more papaya, mango, figs, etc. And yes, colonics (and enemas) would greatly help you - undoubtedly!

    Yes, sea salt in water is a mild laxative!

    You can do it as often as you FEEL the need to drink or take it.

    Q: Today makes day 9 of my FULL BODY DETOX (FBD). This morning I have an outbreak on my hand. I have been practicing telling myself I am Healing, but my job is stressful and yesterday I had a stressful day and this morning the outbreak on my right hand. Could this be part of my healing process? Can you suggest what I can do to alleviate the stress at work so this will not block my healing process of herpes? I am following the diet; however I have been kind of burnt out at times on the salads so I at least eat a salad and a bowl of steamed brown rice and frozen green peas that are steamed for 3 min. Is that considered following the diet? I still eat my fruit for breakfast daily, my salad for lunch and steamed broccoli (5min) and for dinner another salad, but for a few days I have eaten the rice and steam green peas.     You have to learn to deal with your stress and stop reacting to it. Your subconscious mind is greatly blocked and therefore you have to realize your healing will come very slow. At a deep level you still believe herpes is incurable and your body is giving you this (despite the healing crisis of outbreaks on the hand). Your dietary deviation is understandable and not that bad but if you are tiring of salads opt for other things to eat.     Q: First of all I just wanted to thank you so much for enlightening me. I have become a devoted reader daily, for the last 6 months. I have become vegatarian and almost vegan. What dangers can come about with the bile just circulating in my body? When I was unconcious I never though about not having my gallbladder.     Q: I'm a raw vegan, and still suffering from acne. I stay away from all sweeteners, except fresh whole fruits. I started to have lots of greens juices these days, and my skin has improved a little bit. What about spices such a cayenne pepper, is it bad for your skin? What about goji berries?     Q: I have a question for you. I love reading your articles and I was reading about the importance of iodine in a vegan diet. I am vegan and I'm scared I'm getting iodine and you wrote that seaweed would fulfill that need. Did you mean Sushi seaweed, the roasted nori kind? Or fresh seaweed?     Q: Dasani water, if I remember correctly, was banned from the U.K. It contains salt as well as potassium chloride. Essentia contains calcium chloride, as well as sodium bicarbonate, magnesium sulfate, dipotassium phosphate. Are all the ingredients in Essentia safe? One would have do an independent test on the water. Dasani is crap and I no longer drink Essentia but it would be my brand of choice of bottled water if I was to purchase water again.

    Q: Dear herbalist, I would like to know if it's alright for me to alternate cod liver oil pill (omega 3) in between taking the blood and lymph cleanse. I use to have beautiful skin until spring of this year.
