Halloween is fun for children and adults alike. Kids tend to overdo it on candy, while adults tend to overdo it on the sauce. If you are trying to stop the habits of old this year and want to focus on being a healthy Halloween host (not the person who passes apple slices or avocados out to kids), you can make the scary snacks in this article.
We normally provide recipes with links, but this year we decided to make a fun video with instructions for three simple recipes. Our favorite one to make was the Bell Pepper Jack-o-Lantern salad! One major tip for that recipe is to score your jack-o-lantern faces on the bell peppers. Don’t make complete cuts at first because that is when things go wrong. You aren’t carving a Michelangelo piece into your bell peppers, but scoring the “face” is a good idea.
We know Halloween isn’t until next Wednesday, but let’s be honest…most of the events and parties are happening this weekend. Don your costume, put up some decorations, and display your creative, healthy side with these fun snacks. Watch the video below and let us know what you are thinking about making in the comments.
