We Just Wet Our Plants For National Gardening Day

family-gardening

Known as National Gardening Month, April is the most optimal time of year to start gardening because the days are longer and the soil is warmer. Not only is gardening a great excuse to beautify your yard and grow your own produce, but it is also a great excuse to venture outside and absorb some much-needed vitamin D.

When it comes to gardening, most people are unsure how to begin planting flowers or produce. How do you know if the soil is healthy? What do you plant? Where do you even start? Because today, April 14th, is National Gardening Day, we are providing you with a few helpful tips that can increase your gardening confidence.

Before we continue, it is integral to invest in a few essential gardening tools to make gardening easier. The minute that gardening becomes a chore is when most people tend to give up. Don’t get your butter knife out of the silverware drawer to dig a hole to plant your seeds. Basic gardening tools include a hand shovel, a rake, gardening gloves, and a trowel. You will greatly benefit from a hoe and a shovel if you plan on gardening in a large area.

#1: Decide What You Want To Grow

The rule that you need to abide by is, “If you won’t eat it, don’t grow it.” There is an exception if you are growing flowers, of course. Try to focus on the herbs, vegetables, and fruits that you enjoy eating. When you pick your produce, make sure that it can grow in your area. You can browse information about your gardening zone and microclimate online.

#2: Choosing A Location

Plants require sun exposure, and if you want fruiting to happen then five hours of direct sunlight per day are necessary. Greens, herbs, and root vegetables can grow in partial shade with minimal sunlight. Pick a location for your garden that is exposed to sunlight, but make sure that it is easily accessible and easy to water. If you have to work hard to get to your garden, you won’t have the desire to maintain it.

#3: Test Your Soil

If you plan on using garden boxes, you can purchase soil that is healthy with a neutral pH balance. If you have rough soil that is contaminated, rocky, or soil that is a mixture of silt and clay, you may need to purchase a simple at home soil test kit for about ten dollars. You can also improve your soil by composting, meaning that you bury kitchen scraps in the dirt to enrich it with nutrients.

#4: Nurture Your Garden

After planting your seeds, you have to dedicate a little time out of every day to nurture your growing plants. If you aren’t going to take time out of your day to water your plants, weed your garden, and search for pests, your garden may not turn out the way you want it to.

A final rule of thumb for gardening is that plants require about one inch of water per week during growing season (during the spring). Watering too much does as much harm as under watering, so feel the soil prior to watering to see if the plants really need a lot of water.

Q: Do you have any advice for one who would like to start a garden. Also, where should I get my seeds, should they be so called organic? What are your thoughts on the upside down planters?

    A:

I say DO IT! GO FOR IT! Look for organic seeds, perhaps on the Inter-net (organic seeds, organic gardening, etc.) Give the upside down planters a try! Experiment!

Q: I heard about Hoodia on the TODAY show on NBC. It's supposed to suppress your appetite for weight loss. I have printed wikepedia for a more formal definition. It's supposed to be natural. Hoodia is a genus of 13 species in the flowering plant family Apocynaceae, under the subfamily Asclepiadoideae. [1] They are stem succulents, described as "cactiform" because of their remarkable similarity to the unrelated cactus family. They can reach up to 1mhigh and have large flowers, often with flesh colour and strong smell. Many Hoodia species are protected plants, typical of the Namib Desert, ranging from Central Namibia to southern Angola, especially in plains and rocky areas. Common names include "Bushman's Hat" and "Queen of the Namib". Several species are grown as garden plants, and one species, Hoodia gordonii, is being investigated for use as an appetite suppressant.

    A:

Suppression is not cure or healing! You can't solve a problem by suppressing it! A suppressed appetite will manifest in some other area, i.e., an enormous appetite for sex, shopping, drugs, etc. Just because a thing is natural doesn't mean you are addressing the root of the problem, Beloved! It's much deeper than suppressing!

Q: I've been plagued by uterine fibroids. I've had 6 surgeries and they keep coming back I tried your detox and female detox plan, eating healthy. I thought I was doing well but they've come back. I want to try to have another child with my husband of 15 years. My doctor wants to do IVF. He says it's our only hope. I'm 39 he says time is running out. I believe there is another way. My doctor is insisting I'm wasting time & money trying to use alternative & herbal remedies. He says if there was a magical herb there would be no plants or trees left. I am ready to accept whatever fate is bestowed upon me but don't want to become homeless in the process. Your honest and professionalism is greatly needed. Sincerely.

    A:

The choice is your and yours alone to make! Naturally, to heal will take some time, just as much time as it took to develop the fibroids via what you ate, thought, did, etc. You have to stay committed to any natural protocol, Beloved! Naturally healing takes time!

Q: My hair has finally started to grow and I have split ends. My hair has started to grow because I have decided to grow my hair naturally. Theses spilt ends are wrecking my nerves. How do I repair them with cutting off about 2&1/2 inches of my hair? I would prefer to use food products.

    A:

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, SPLIT ENDS REFLECT THE HEALTH OF THE OVARIES. YOUR HAIR TIES IN TO YOUR REPRODUCTIVE AREA. FEED (NOURISH) THE SEX GLANDS. CONSIDER PERFORMING THE TOTAL WOMAN CLEANSE BUT ALSO CONSUMING FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE SPECIFIC HERBS (VIA TEA, CAPSULES, OR EXTRACTS) DAILY. TAKE AS MUCH MSM SULFUR AS YOU CAN. THIS IS GREAT FOOD FOR THE HAIR AND KEEPS THE HAIR GROWING. TO FIX SPLIT ENDS, WORK ON YOUR OVARIES.

Q: Thank you for the wonderful info you give to help us all live healthier lives. My concern is my hair loss. Is there an herbal remedies to help hair grow back like it did when I was in my young teens. I'm 41 years old now and my hair loss is primarily on the top. If you need to know my race (for any reason) I'm a black man. I do not want to use Rogain or any other chemicals to re grow my hair or pay money for hair transplants. Is there any hope to grow hair naturally or am I stuck with my genetic code of losing my hair? Thanks in advance!

Q: I see also that you recommend a complete diet with these programs. I am guessing its a vegan diet right? I wanted to ask something on that is coconut milk and coconut oils ok for that? I personally had a very hard time trying to eat that many vegetables and many ph balance vegans seem to think fruits aren?t good either. I eat that many vegetables one it tears me up the next day and two I just cant consume enough calories that way. I can try and make up for it by eating things like almonds but I eat to many almonds I get the same problem the next day. Now coconut milk (unsweetened) and a digestive enzyme works for me for picking up extra calories.... but I hear very conflicting information about coconut and its saturated fat content. Is it ok to use daily as a part of the diet for cleansing? And your oxy-drops are those the same as the drop for ph balancing water?? Or is it something different? I am wanting to start lifting weights as I need to put on some muscle and I?m wondering if its something that would be beneficial in combating muscle soreness by increased oxygen in the body.

    A:

The diet we recommend is vegan-based, and RAW FOODS. Fresh fruits, vegetables, raw nuts and seeds are ideal.

Coconut Milk and Coconut Oil are excellent products to have in your diet. The healthy fats will keep you fuller.

Oxy-Drops can help balance your electrolytes that need to be replenished after a workout in order to keep your body performing efficiently.

Dark circles around the eye denote kidney problems (excess fluid buildup) and/or perhaps lack of proper rest/sleep time. You can heal from this too.

Q: My Dad is 90 and in a nursing home. He has been diagnosed with Papilloma in his mouth. He cannot wear his dentures and these wort like things are growing in his mouth. At this time it has not been cancerous. I believe a good cleansing would help him, but what can I get for them to give him there. I would have to get the Dr. there to allow the nurses to administer it to him. Also, I?ve you heard of the detoxification that is done by a foot cleansing, which is done by putting the feet in water with an electrical strip which has a mineral in the water that after about thirty minutes cleanses the body. I have had the experience and it is unbelievable what is removed from the body. My son, has liver was completely cleansed by this in three weeks. Do you think this might help Dad. I have been thinking about buying one of these machines and taking it there and trying it. If you have heard of this, can you recommend any one that is better than another. Also, any recommendations for herbs, etc. Thank you for any help you have for Dad. (He also has diabetes)

    A:

Dad needs a serious cleansing! Especially his colon of which the mouth is connected as a part of the alimentary canal. If he has trouble swallowing capsules, our liquid Full Body Cleanse would be ideal for him (in addition to some of our new great teas).

The foot detox works wonders. This is a powerful way to detox the body.

Q: I did the FULL BODY DETOX and ANTI-VIRAL CLEANSE AND REGIMEN back to back. I just received my test results for hsv1 and it's still positive. I followed the diet strictly and followed everything that as instructed. I did not cheat at all. I was taking Dr. Sebi's herbs for 5 months and eating a vegan diet. At month 6 I came across your website and decided to give your products a try. I truly believed I would test negative this time. Here are the viral numbers after taking Dr. Sebi's herbs for 5 months. I started getting tested after month three. 5.32 - month 3 dr. sebi 4.32 - month 4 dr sebi 3.28 - month 5 dr sebi 3.79 - month 6 today (your products). What should I do next?

    A:

When people have difficulty healing, there's always an emotional, mental, and psychological block (where they really believe they have a disease and if it's said to be incurable they subconsciously believe it is incurable so no matter what they do they don't get physical results). Healing must be holistic! Clearly you are getting some results with herbs (Sebi's and mine) which means the herbs are doing their part but you are not doing your part. Belief is key to healing! If you are focused on "NOT wanting" herpes, you are in fact attracting herpes to stay with you because the Universe does not process negative language, i.e. "no" "not" "non" and "don't." So when you say or focus on NOT desiring a thing, i.e. "I don't want to have herpes!" the Universe hears: "I WANT to have herpes" and gives you what you want. You have to focus only on seeing yourself healed. Herpes can't be nowhere in your thought process, vocabulary, aura, etc. and it is! You are not the first person with this problem. I deal with hundreds of other individuals whose minds are not right and they go spend thousands of dollars for physical healing but they invest 0% into mental healing. Your healing depends on sources outside of self. You are looking for test results to prove your are healed rather than knowing, seeing, and FEELING that you are healed. You are looking for external products (herbs) to heal you and not your MIND and God-force. Herbs and diet only play a role. You didn't get herpes from what you ate. It was THOUGHT, EMOTIONS, ATTITUDE, DIET, LIFESTYLE, and perhaps PAST-LIFE KARMA! Let's talk! "All healing is mental"

Q: Hello, this is my 2nd time doing the full body cleanse. I did it last year so now I'm doing it again. I started on Monday 3/9 and since have lost 5 lbs. Is that normal? Also why do you recommend Distilled water and not Spring and/or filtered (Brita). I have always drank a lot of water but roughly how many times a day should I urinate and how many times a day should I make a BM? When I did it the first time last year it was late Spring early Summer and incorporated a lot of walking which helped out a lot. This time not so much due to the horrible NY weather. I would appreciate you answering my questions and getting back to me at your earliest convenience. Thanks

A: Everyone's body is different and responds to the regimen differently. Losing 5 pounds in days is okay. Distilled water is the best type of water that helps to detox the body. You should be drinking half your body weight in water. Anything you put into your body you can expect it to come out. Bowel movements and urination is directly related to the foods and beverages you're consuming. Be sure that you're consuming three regular meals a day; eating fruits and vegetables with fiber.

Q: My question is about hair loss. I am a 45 year old African American female. I started losing my hair about 15 years ago. I specifically remember unusual symptoms before it started to fall out. First, my entire scalp had a burning sensation, and it was very tender to the touch. It was very difficult to brush, comb and wash. Then after that, I am not sure how much longer after, but a dry patch of skin developed toward the back of my head (approximately 1 inch in diameter). I was able to peel it off and pull it through the strains of hair (very weird). That happened a couple of times and not too long after that, my hair started to fall out in large amounts for a fairly long period of time. At the moment I would say that I am mostly bald with hair mostly around the edges. Also I would like to mention that hair started to grow on my chest BUT I started to lose hair in my vaginal area. Sorry if some of this sounds sketchy but it's been 15 years!! I will try to give you a little bit of my history. I am 5'8" and 135lbs. I would say that for the most part, I have been an athlete all my life. My menses were very irregular sometimes and/or absent for long periods of time. When my menses were present, I had very bad cramps and clotting. My menses are now very regular and I hardly have any cramps, my flow is light and very little clotting. I would have to say that it is now a pleasure to have my "period". This also might be a result from switching my diet to a vegetarian diet. I have been a vegetarian for about 16 years. I would say 20% is dairy, but after reading your articles, I am trying my best to become vegan, hopefully even a raw foodist. I also eat tofu. I have never had hair problems growing up. I did get relaxers, but only twice a year. I have had my appendix removed when I was in elementary school. My bowel movements are usually once a day. (I know it needs to be 3.) So anyway, I have been to a couple of medical doctors to no avail, so now I am coming to you. I just received the following products from your company today (10-06-08). I am looking forward to using them. - MSM SULFUR - ELECTRIC GREENS CELL FOOD - COLON FORMULA - HEALING HERBAL TOOTH POWDER - HAIR OIL One last note: I have had maybe one cold in the last 3 years. I can't remember the last time I had the flu. So thank the Lord, my health has been pretty good. Thank you for reading about my situation and hopefully you can shed some light on what is going on with my body.

Q: Dasani water, if I remember correctly, was banned from the U.K. It contains salt as well as potassium chloride. Essentia contains calcium chloride, as well as sodium bicarbonate, magnesium sulfate, dipotassium phosphate. Are all the ingredients in Essentia safe? One would have do an independent test on the water. Dasani is crap and I no longer drink Essentia but it would be my brand of choice of bottled water if I was to purchase water again.

    A:

Personally I have an alkaline-antioxidant water machine (Neptune brand) that produces alkaline, antioxidant, oxygenate, mineralized water that is made in Asia.

Q: I am 27 years old, and I think I really did it this time, with all my "hair-torturing", because its getting thinner and more unmanageable day by day...it really shows.....I am switching to henna....But is there any way I can get my hair to grow long, thick and healthy again?

    A:

Stop processing your hair NOW! Take 6 capsules of Hair-Skin-Nails and MSM Formula daily.

Use a good brand shampoo (i.e. Aubrey's Organic) that nourishes the hair with essential oils and botanicals, instead of chemicals that strip the natural oils. Henna your hair every 2-3 weeks. Check out our article (HAIR PROBLEMS), for more information.

Q: I AM EXPECTING MY DETOX PACKAGE TO COME IN POSSIBLY ON TUESDAY. I WANT TO START REPLENSHING MY DRY FRUITS. 1. ALMONDS 2. PECANS. 3. RAW CASHEWS. I HARDLY EAT PEANUTS AND I KNOW THEY ARE NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. DO YOU RECOMMEND WALNUTS? MY FAVORITE ARE ABOVE. PLUS SHOULD I GET DISTILLED WATER? ALSO BEFORE DISCOVERING DHERBS, I PUT In A WHOLE WATER FILTRATON SYSTEM IN MY HOUSE AND I BELIEVE IT IS CONSIDERED PURIFIED WATER. IS THIS GOOD OR SHOULD I BUY BOTTLED DISTILLED WATER. I AM VERY ANXIOUS TO START DETOXING BECAUSE THIS IS THE FIRST TIME.

    A:

Walnuts are good to eat during the Full Body Cleanse. Distilled water is the best water during the Full Body Cleanse, but your filtered water would also be okay to drink during the cleanse.
