What You Can Do To Improve Your Bowels

improve-your-bowels

Do you often feel like your bowel movements aren’t normal? Are your bowels causing you discomfort? Do you have infrequent bowel movements and feel backed up? While these are signs of an unhealthy digestive system, fear not because these are issues people regularly experience. There are steps you can take to help keep your bowels healthy or improve upon your current situation.

Here’s an important thing to remember: What goes in must come out. If we go along with that, eating unhealthy foods will only disturb your bowels. To promote healthy bowel motion it only makes sense to eat healthily. If you maintain a more plant-based diet, you can get essential nutrients that make everything flow smoothly. It is normal to poop 1-3 times a day, not 3 times a week. Having 1 or 2 bowel movements a day means your body is healthy, and you can help the elimination process by eating your daily dose of fiber (leafy greens, apples, raspberries, lentils, lima beans, broccoli, artichokes, Brussels sprouts, or chickpeas).

Constipation affects a lot of people with poor diets. This can cause discomfort, bloating, or gastrointestinal pain. It’s not fun to be backed up and it isn’t normal to only have three bowel movements in a week. If you experience infrequent bowel movements, it may be beneficial to participate in a full body cleanse or a colon cleanse to eradicate any built-up waste. The following foods should be eliminated from your diet to avoid constipation.

  • Red Meat
  • Milk
  • Cheese
  • Green Bananas
  • Fried Foods
  • Sugar and Artificial Sugars
  • Eggs
  • Bread
  • Chips
  • Processed Foods

There are many ailments that can stem from built-up bacteria and waste in the colon. Colonics are an excellent option to help safely eliminate or loosen up old, hardened fecal matter, which you may not be able to get rid of on your own. If you are opposed to colonics, you can perform an at-home enema to cleanse the colon and promote healthy bowel movements.

Even though colonics, enemas, or cleansing can help rid your bowels of toxins, bacteria, and even parasites, keeping your bowels healthy comes back to what you put into your body. You want to look after your bowels, considering that 80-90% of diseases originate in the colon. Here are some tips that may help you maintain normal and healthy bowels.

Drink Water: Hydrate, hydrate, and then hydrate some more. A lot of people do not drink enough water and that can be a cause of constipation. A good rule of thumb to stay properly hydrated is to drink eight 8oz glasses of water every day. You can also use your body weight as a measurement to ensure proper hydration. Drinking half your body weight in ounces of water per day (i.e. you should drink 75oz of water if you weigh 150lbs) will keep you hydrated.

Eat Organic Apples: An organic apple a day keeps the…well, there isn’t a rhyme, but eating organic apples can provide you with dietary fiber that will help you empty the tank. The pectin in the apples binds with excess toxins and helps flush them out of the body.

Avoid Antibiotics: Believe it or not, there are many herbal remedies that can help you avoid antibiotics. Antibiotics can be rough on the stomach lining and can cause constipation. They negatively affect stomach acids as well as the balance of good to bad bacteria, which help us properly digest food. You may want to take natural probiotics or eat fermented foods like kimchi or sauerkraut to get things moving.

In addition to employing the above methods, you can eat the following foods to help keep your bowels healthy.

  • Beans
  • Kiwis
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Pears, Plums, & Apples
  • Berries
  • Flaxseeds
  • Broccoli
  • Prunes
  • Avocados
  • Coconut Oil

Don’t let your bowels cause you discomfort. They can be easily managed if the right, healthy measures are taken to keep them happy. Put healthy foods into your body to keep your body healthy.

Q: For the last few months off and on when I have bowel movements that are not "normal". I read somewhere that one's waste should float. My waste however comes out whole but tends to disintegrate in the water. I am very regular, I use the bathroom at least 3 times a day after each meal and maintain a pretty healthy vegan diet about 70% live foods. I was wondering if there could be an issue with absorption, or assimilation in my colon, possibly a fiber issue?

    A:

Yes, stools should be whole (not disintegrate) and should float in the toilet water. Try increasing your dietary fiber intake with whole fruits and vegetables. Read some of our COLON articles on our site under "Articles."

Q: I'm doing the Full Body Cleanse and I have a few questions about it: I get tired of drinking just the distilled water and I'd like to drink the herbal teas, but I don't like it by itself. Would it mess things up to add a pack or two of Splenda to my tea or maybe honey? I can't stand the salads with the olive oil or apple cider vinegar or the lemon juice as dressing and it makes me gag. I have To have some sort of salad dressing. What kind would be suitable? Do I look for sugar-free? Or organic and natural? I found one that is organic and natural, but it has 3 grams of sugar in it. Without eating all my whole grained breads and other fiber, I haven't had much of a bowel movement in 3 days, should I wait a while yet? (I had surgery on my bowels and always had to take fiber tablets and eat lots of grains to get my bowels to move.) I haven't done the enemas yet, (low on money) should I try that? Or should I resume my fiber tablets I normally take? Any type of fiber I could add to my fruit smoothies in the morning? I want to also do the female cleanse. Is it ok to do that immediately after I finish the full body cleanse or should I wait for a little while? Thank you for all your help, I feel much better than I did before and I just started this detox a week ago, lost 10 pounds, too, woohoooooo! Thank you

    A:

    1. Instead of splenda, use agave, stevia, or grade b maple syrup as a sweetener.

    2. In re Salad Dressing, an organic and natural one is great. You can also check our website for salad dressing recipes.

    3. The fiber pills are not part of the cleanse, so we wouldn't advise those. Fruit is you best choice of fiber so look into eating more papaya, mango, figs, etc. And yes, colonics (and enemas) would greatly help you - undoubtedly!

    4. You can do the Female Cleanse right after you finish detoxing. There's no need to wait!

Q: Peace, I am very interested in using your products. However, I want to be sure that I am on the right track. I have a serious problem eliminating waste from my body. My bowels do not move naturally. I have to take something to get any movement. Recently, I visited with a Chinese Herbalist who informed me that I "had" a weak spleen. I began taking Four Gentlemen Teapils along with Yin Chi female performance for energy and smooth move cap. My energy improved tremendously but the bowel movements were minimal. On my next visit he took me off of the Four Gentlemen and put me on Gui Pi Wan Teapils and a detox. I'm not real sure about the contents of the detox caps but my bowels did move a bit more but still not on their own when I finished the detox. Now I am at the point where I feel good still with some bloating in my upper abdomen, very uncomfortable. I would like to work with someone who can help me to understand how to heal my body. Thus, my husband mentioned your name a couple of months ago. He heard about you on a radio show. And, I have a 10-year old daughter who's body is preparing for menstruation. She complains about mild stomach aches more like cramps and some headaches during certain times of the month. I want to know what I can do to assist her body as it transitions into young woman hood. I am thinking of your full body cleanse first. I would love to maybe speak with you and put myself on the best path possible. Thank you.

    A:

Give your daughter MOON CYCLE FORMULA and FEMALE HORMONAL FORMULA (1-2 capsules daily). And/or drink 1 cup of FEMALE HEALTH TEA daily.

Q: I'm on my 10th day of the Full body cleanse and I have only dropped like 5 pounds. When I go walking and come back to weigh myself. I see that I'm down like 3 lbs. But, when I weigh myself the next morning, I still only lost 5 pounds. I have lost my appetite completely. I eat fruits and a small salad other than that, I have no desire to eat. I have bowel movements about 3 times a day however, they are not regular size bowel movements. I even had a colonics yesterday, and not much happened with that, no movement. I'm just wondering what can I do to optimize my weight lost with this detox? I had taken smooth move too... still no change... Please advise.

    A:

Stop putting so much energy (emphasis) on how much (weight) you're losing. You're creating a block for yourself. In fact, you should even stop weighing yourself. Only do so after you complete the cleanse. Just focus on how you feel, and what you desire -- your objective, okay!

Q: I am writing you to see if you have any information and remedies for hemorrhoids. I am a Black African male in my 40's. I have changed my diet for the last 3 yrs., no meat, fish, cheese, milk, no dairy, no alcohol, no bread, greatly decreased sugar and salt. I exercise 45 minutes a day, 5 days a week, drink at least 6 glasses of water a day and take lots of vitamin c and a multivitamin but I still have not been able to get rid of the hemorrhoids. Also the hemorrhoids only come out when I have a bowel movement. I have bowel movements twice a day. Also, I have been taking horse chestnut tincture. Is there anything that you know of that might help me to get rid of them. Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Truthfully, thank you very much.

    A:

Try our 10-Day Supreme Colon Cleanser. After the cleanse, take 3 capsules of Hemorrhoid Buster 2-3 times daily. Drink 1 cup of Aloe Vera juice daily.

Q: The reason I have chronic constipation is not because of diet, I eat very healthy, it is because of pain medication (narcotics), that I have to take to be able to stand the excruciating pain I am suffering from 5 spinal surgeries (I have metal rods in my spine from my shoulder blades to my tailbone). In order to have a regular bowel movement every day I take Glyco Lax (a dr.'s RX) 2x a day, plus what I call my "concoction" : I Tbs raw honey, 2 tsp. apple cider vinegar, 1 tsp. lemon juice, 1/3 cup fresh ground golden flaxseeds,? 1 tsp. Natural Psyllium Husk Fiber, and put all of that in hot purified water and drink it. I also take a stool softener with stimulant. That is a lot of time consuming work for me, but it does work. You offer several products for regularity, but I don't know which one to order. My Dr. says senna is very harsh and addictive, and your products seems to have a lot of senna in them. I was told it is not good for long term use. Please advise.

    A:

Senna is a 100% all-natural herb that is completely safe. It can be used for bowel movement stimulation, as the body recognizes and assimilates the herb without any side effects. All of our products can provide numerous health benefits.

This list includes no nuts, or fresh fruits with skin. How can I can complete a cleanse, if I am not able to eat the raw vegetables and nuts?

Q: I am on the full body cleanse. I never take any kind of herb or pill that is a laxitive as I have bowel movements 3 or more times a day - whenever I eat. I have noticed that I have very loose stools - diarrhea. I do not have an impacted colon as I have had colonics - eat a veg diet, primarily and have several cups of vegetables a day. Should I cut down on the supplement that has the laxative containing herbs?

    A:

In re diarrhea, please READ our Detox Troubleshooter guide on our website.

Loose stool suggests that you need more drinking water to help soften and loosen your stools which are too hard!

Q: My daughter Heather is 4 yrs. old and is battling Candida. She has been on antibiotics from the age of 2 months till 1 yr. old about 8 times for ear infections. She developed constipation at 7 months, food allergies at 1 yr. and a lot of food intolerances. She also had heartburn and was getting bad rashes around her mouth when she ate. Unfortunately, I did not know about Candida so this went on for a couple of years. Despite my efforts of taking her to every doctor there was, no one could help me. Right now she is on a treatment for Candida, but she is so sensitive, she can't even tolerate a lot of the supplements. Her bowels do not move at all. I have to do enemas everyday to keep them going. Right now I'm having a hard time finding a laxative she can tolerate. I ordered the "Children?s laxative extract" from DHERBS but after 4 days of being on it her bowels still aren't moving. I started colonic therapy sessions for my daughter and we saw parasites come out of her. When I called DHERBS, I was recommended to e-mail you. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    A:

For Candida, please know the antibiotic medication is the present cause of her persisitent candida (yeast infection). Read our article "Candida Albicans." She needs anti-fungal herbs, not antibiotic medication. These are harming her body.

The child is very acidic and this may be due to her diet (what you are feeding the child).

Have your child perform the Children's Detox for starters. A basic cleanse is greatly needed!

To target the Candida, make your child a tea consisting of Pau' D Arco. Let the tea cool down and add maple syrup (or agave nectar) and a little lemon. Let the child drink this sweetened tea throughout the day (even as a cold beverage).

Bathe the child in warm water and sea salt (1 box per bath). Add 5-6 drops of tea tree oil to each bath as well. Let the child soak in the water for 30-60 minutes. This bath is very alkalizing (which counteracts acidity).

Because she has parasites, have the child drink pomegranate juice (often) and eat plenty of pumpkin seeds (often).

For the enemas, make a tea of Dherbs Bowel Mover tea (let cool down). Pour tea into enema bag and perform an enema with the tea as the enema solution. Some days switch off from the tea and just add hydrogen peroxide (half an ounce per enema bag) to the enema solution (distilled water). Hydrogen peroxide breaks down into oxygen which kills parasites. You could even add 30 drops of Oxy-Drops to the enema bag and perform an enema using liquid oxygen.

It is imperative you put the child on a vegan vegetarian diet a.s.a.p.! Remove all meat and dairy products as well as all refined grains from her diet (as these feed worms and parasites).

Have the child drink prune juice before going to bed each night. Dilute the juice with water if necessary.

The child needs to eat a lot of fruits (i.e. plums, apples).

Continue to give the child Dherbs Children?s laxative extract daily, perhaps in the early evening hours.

Doing all of the above will cause positive changes in your child's situation. Just remember, drugs won't help her. Read ou article "Herbs vs. Pharmaceutical drugs" on our site.

Q: I am in need of cleansing my body and weight removal! (Removal and not loss because I don't want to find it again)! I need to remove about 80 pounds of unhealthy weight from my body and would like to do so in a natural way. I looked at both your Female Cleanse and the Full Body Cleanse, but don't know which is a better option for me to follow right now? I eat a lot of organic foods, I juice (some) but need to increase my water intake (A LOT). I don't drink much soda at all and when I do it is organic carbonated lemonade. I realize carbonated drinks are not good for us and limit how much I drink. My body lets me know when I have eaten something that is not good for me by causing my hands and feet to swell. To reduce this I drink water. I am allergic to wheat and try to stay away from it as much as possible. I have few ailments and have started working out again (cardio and weight training). I also looked at your weight loss products, but thought I should maybe detox first. What do you think? Any assistance you can offer on your products and which ones I should take is of great appreciation.

A: The best thing for you is the Full Body Cleanse. The Full Body Cleanse will allow you to remove unwanted weight, while also optimizing your entier body so that you can maintain that weight and live a healthier lifestyle.

Q: Good morning, I have always had problems moving my bowels. Sometime I can go 2 weeks without a good move. I have been taking laxatives for years in order to clean myself out which I am sure is neither good for me. What suggestions do you have for me=-- I have tried eating the fiber, etc. Thank you in advance for your advice. Theresa

    A:

You're bowel movements are directly related to the foods you consume. Even with the consumption of fiber, there are foods in certain diets that contribute to irregular bowel movements as some foods take longer to break down. It's best to eliminate the foods from your diet that your body is accustom to receiving, giving it only what it needs. We suggest doing the 10 Day Colon Cleanse to help address impacted bowels. The cleanse and diet regimen can help repair the way your digestion track functions helping to improve your bowel movements.

Q: Since my surgery for fibroids last year my bowel movements is very slow and I am gaining weight around my stomach even my breasts are looking much fuller why are my breasts looking fuller? I am also eating lots of fruits, but it does not send me to the bathroom, are the fruits helping my breasts?

    A:

Your breasts are becoming fuller because they have become the waste location for all the fluid waste that you are not expelling below (lower eliminative channels) due to the surgery. The breasts are one of five major fatty reserves on the female body (i.e. breasts, buttocks, belly, thighs, and upper back arms). Read our article "Toxic Breasts" on our site under Articles."

You are probably not eating your fruit according to the laws of food combining (we have a chart available on our site under "Food Combining Chart"). I would recommend that you consider performing the Full Body Cleanse; or, give our Bowel Motion, Colon Formula, and Intestinal Cleanser formulas a try and watch the improvement in your bowel movements -- guaranteed! All you need is 2-3 capsules of each formula per day and you'll see the results you desire.

Q: Several people in the conscious community have stated that adding flax seeds and/or flax seed powder to our diet benefits the colon for complete and clean bowel movements. My question is, does flax seed powder or the seeds themselves promote parasites in the stomach and colon? A few of my friends and I have completed the parasite cleanse and got into a debate about it. Thank you very much, Hotep!

    A:

Flax seed undoubtedly helps the colon (due to fiberous nature) but it is absurd to think or suggest that flax seeds (in any form) promotes parasites. Meat, dairy, refined grains and other processed foods is what promotes parasites in the stomach, colon, and rest of the body. So, as Public Enemy would say: "Don't believe the hype!"

Q: I am a massage therapist. During a year long detox with the help of a Naturopath I lost about 40 pounds. However, I could only lose weight while fasting. Though I recognized that I was extremely toxic (very thick, dark menses every 15 days to flu-like symptoms) it seemed that fecal matter was getting "stuck" in the bend of the trans. Colon and disc. Colon. Maintaining the weight losses and good health was difficult in spite of being on a wholesome diet. Digestive enzymes seemed to adversely affect digestion since elimination was slow (once a day). Though enzymes worked well in the stomach, I would only gain weight with the use of enzymes: drinking a gallon of water a day only touched my extreme thirst. I would become lethargic and experience painful menses. Cramps, along with swelling in the ankles. Recently a massage therapist who worked with colon massage laid hands on me and told me that my trans. colon was sitting below my belly button. His massaging in the bend of the trans. colon and the disc. Colon was very uncomfortable. We agreed that massage could help with my situation since I felt great after the massage. I take flaxseed oil, prune juice, probiotics, and cranberry juice everyday and I have been seeing a colon hydro therapist for the past five weeks (once a week) with very good results. Is there a special diet that can help pull the trans colon back into position? I really want to be able to eat wholesome foods and look and feel wholesome at the same time. Thank you for your support.

    A:

I WOULD RECOMMEND COLON REPAIR. CONSIDER THE DHERBS 10-DAY SUPREME COLON CLEANSE AND IT'S CORRELATING DIET (WHICH COMES WITH THE CLEANSE) AND DRINK MUCH VEGETABLE AND FRUIT JUICE, BUT ESPECIALLY VEGETABLE JUICE. FRUITS SMOOTHIES WILL ALSO HELP REPAIR THE COLON. DRINK 2-4 OUNCES OF ALOE VERA JUICE IN A GLASS OF WATER. PERFORM ANTI-GRAVITY EXERCISES 15-MINUTES PER DAY (HAVE LEGS RAISED HIGHER THAN THE FACE - I.E. LEGS UP AGAINST THE WALL WITH HEAD AND BACK ON THE GROUND). PERFORM ENEMAS AND COLONICS AS WELL. ALL ORGANS ARE REPAIRABLE AND THEREFORE YOU CAN HEAL YOURSELF OF THIS CRISIS. PEACE, OPTIMAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING BE UNTO YOU.
