Douching is not recommended for women, especially for purposes of vaginal health maintenance. The vagina is a self-cleansing orifice and is programmed at the cellular level to cleanse itself.
Douching is not natural and can actually create an unhealthy vaginal environment, which can lead to infections and other conditions.
Health Risks of Douching
Douching with commercial brand douche solutions contain many chemicals that have no business inside the female vagina. What goes into the vagina is absorbed via the tissues of the vagina.
The Western female’s vagina is polluted with various products from douching solutions, deodorant sprays, feminine wash solutions, deodorant powder and talc, and vaginal antifungal products, to name a few among many.
Many of these products contain harmful synthetic ingredients such as mineral oil, ammonium laureth sulfate, disodium cocoamphodiacetate, ammonium chloride, cocamidopropyl betaine, disodium EDTA; methylchorosothiazolinate, methylisothiazolinone, petroleum-based colors (i.e. Blue Lake #1), and “fragrance,” an umbrella term that is highly suspect as it hides the ingredients of what the product really is.
Some of these ingredients are carcinogenic. No wonder vaginal cancer occurs at the rate it does amongst Western women. When the vagina is the cause of disease, it points to a deeper significance, suggesting some problem with a female issue, i.e. Goddess-ness, femininity, Yin-ness, woman-ness, etc. There is a saying that successful women are the sickest women, and this is usually true of them due to them compromising their femininity or feminine-ness and Goddess-ness in order to succeed in the corporate and business world.
Women would be wise to avoid the use of products such as Vagisil, Summer’s Eve, Monistat, Miconazole 7, and Massengil. These products do not heal, but harm!
Douching with Herbs
There is one exception pertaining to douching and that is when there is a dire situation whereby the vagina is greatly inflamed and a constant itch is unbearable. A vaginal inflammation with an accompanying itch can be quite unbearable, humiliating, embarrassing, and miserable and a female should take every available measure to get her-self some instant and immediate relief.
Drastic measures should be taken to get immediate relief. In such a case, women should douche with an herbal solution of herbs that look like the lining of the vaginal mucous membranes. Herbs that look similar to the vaginal lining of the mucous membranes include Red Raspberry Leaf, Marshmallow, Lemon Verbena, and Mullein Leaf; herbs considered “mucilaginous” in nature (meaning they thicken and slime up in water).
Astringent herbs such as Witch Hazel Bark and White Oak Bark are also good to douche with for immediate relief.
