Most grandmas are notorious soup makers. Mine certainly was. Maybe their secret was this helpful chart from Shape.com. The premise of soup-making is the same: stir-fry aromatics at the bottom of the pot before adding heartier ingredients and topping it off with broth. A few of these recipes contain meat, so be sure to swap them out for beans or other vegetarian protein.
