Q: My son eats, and 30 minutes or sooner he has to go to the bathroom. He is thin, and doesn't hold food. If he eats he goes. What can he take to try to hold his food a little longer so that we can gain a few pounds. Is this behavior healthy? You're supposed to defecate 30 minutes after you eat. That's natural! You are going against nature to have the son to be like everybody else who are constipated, and don't know it. Don't follow societal norm!
Q: My son is on Concerta 36 mg for ADHD. He was on 56 mg, but I asked that it be lowered because it was taking away from his personality. I did something that I said I'd never do and that was let them medicate him. He started running back and forth which he is not aware of. Doctors say this is a tick. I'm not sure what it is. His behavior started to escalate in the 2nd grade. They were calling me up to the school every other day. Funny thing is that when I would go to the school other teachers would congratulate me on my sons National test scores in reading. His behavior eventually landed him in a special needs school. My cousin whom worked in the system advised me not to let them place him there. I felt like my hands were tied. I don't have the income to place him in a private school. Q: When looking at the Food Combining Chart I was wondering if smoothies are not a violation of all of the "recommendations." If it is suggested that certain items not be combined, how can smoothies actually be "healthy" to our bodies aside from the absolute nutrition they provide? The food combining chart is a suggestion for "optimal" digestion. It suggests we should eat mono meals optimally. This is often impossible and there is no evidence scientifically for this method. I am not sure how it would be studied anyway.
It is considered best to try to adhere to the rules to the best of your ability. However, mixing fruits and veggies as in a green smoothie is absolutely fine. The benefits of the nutrition you receive will out weigh any digestive disturbance that may occur. Feel safe to have green smoothies in your diet and cleanse.

Q: My son has been evaluated as having both adhd and add. My son is eleven years old and can be very hyper at times.
