GLP-1 medications have helped a lot of people manage blood sugar and weight – and that’s worth acknowledging. But like any medication, they come with tradeoffs worth knowing about:
- Common side effects: nausea, GI discomfort, slowed digestion
- Muscle loss can happen alongside fat loss without enough protein + strength training
- Weight regain is common after stopping, unless paired with sustainable lifestyle habits
- They’re not a substitute for nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management – the daily habits that support long-term health
This is a reminder to ask questions, understand what you’re taking and why, and to build a plan that supports your whole body, not just a number on the scale.
