Q: How can I make the transition from cooked food, to raw food? Do you have any raw recipes for children? How can I get kids to eat raw?

    A:

Children do as you do, so let the child see you eating raw food as well. Fruits are the best raw foods to eat, as they are naturally sweet. Purchase "Alternative Diet and Lifestyle Manual", for the numerous raw food resources to assist you in this transition.

Q: What's the best way to start on a vegan/raw food diet? I am not sure what to eat to make sure I would get a nutritious diet-you may not be able to go into that much detail but how can I get sample meal plans for breakfast, lunch and dinner incorporating this type of diet-perhaps there is somewhere on the web I find something like this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    A:

If I do say myself, the best way to start a raw food diet is to be coached by me. I run a 6 month health coaching program that is 60-90 percent raw and 100 percent vegan/gluten free/ allergy free. You can find out more about my program at www.theveganeffect.com. I am running a special of half off my program if you sign up before march 1st.

Here are some other tips to get started.

1: Join a raw food meetup group or community. Surround yourself with supportive people who can point you in the right direction. Try meetup.org or 30bananasaday.com

2: Read books like "beauty detox solution" by snyder, "80/10/10" by Dr. Graham., or "The Paradigm diet" by Adam Dave

3: Start simple with breakfast. Always start your day with a green smoothie. read "Green smoothie revolution" by forget authors name at the moment. heh.

A sample meal plan would be.

    Breakfast: Green smoothie

Bridge: raw bar, handful of nuts or seeds, or fruit

Lunch: Raw wraps made from collard greens. use a base of tahini, hummus, or nut butter. Fill with sprouts and colorful veggies

Bridge: raw bar, handful nuts or seeds, or fruit

Dinner: Raw pasta with a large salad

    Snack: Sorbet

    Hope that answers your question,

Q: I go out of town Saturday the 23rd. I complete my anti-viral kit mon. the 24th. I am also staying out of town thru Thanksgiving at relatives. There will be traditional dinner (turkey, etc.) I will not be able to take my test after I finish this kit on the 24th because I will be out of town. What do you suggest? But then Christmas is coming....more food and relatives. What is your suggestion? Should I start over from scratch after the holidays? My other question is....I see now there is a green cell food regimen, should I FBD, green cell kit and then anti-viral kit? What do you think is best for me to get optimal health and results?

    A:

Abstain from cleansing if you are going to eat holiday food. keep it real! I would suggest performing in this order: FULL BODY DETOX, ANTI-VIRAL CLEANSE AND REGIMEN, and then 10-DAY ELECTRIC GREENS CELL FOOD CLEANSE. Work on your mind too (see NEW MENTAL SCIENCE MANUAL coming next week).

Q: I have a question for you. I love reading your articles and I was reading about the importance of iodine in a vegan diet. I am vegan and I'm scared I'm getting iodine and you wrote that seaweed would fulfill that need. Did you mean Sushi seaweed, the roasted nori kind? Or fresh seaweed? I haven't been able to find fresh seaweed anywhere, except for already prepared seaweed salad. Also, how would you suggest I use the roasted nori seaweed? In smoothies? Because by itself it does not taste good.

    A:

No! Not fresh water seaweed. But seaweed sold in a health food store. One in a bottle. Try Dulse, Kelp, Spiriulina, or even Dherbs Iodine Phosphate formula.

Q: First let me just say that I love this site. It has given my goddesses and I true alternative. For some reason during this season we have been experiencing the announance of staph infections. The MD doctors have no clue or not clear in explaining how a person even contracts this infection but I know that it has to be food related. The body is perfect until it is contaminated by the foods we eat. At present I have a painful byte that I know is probably now a staph infection. It has swollen and turned red around the affected are. Is there any product that you have available that can assist me with this? I am two steps away from going to the MD but I know that he will only give me a temporary fix (poison) of which I do not even want in my system. Please advise!! My body is in a bind. I am still in transition from the flesh diet but this has definitely pushed me closer to vegan. Thanks in advance.

Q: While doing a candida cleanse, it was told to me that I should be following a raw food diet full of fruits and vegetables. Fruits have high sugar content and can feed a candida overgrowth, as it is a well known fact that candida albicans thrive on sugar. How can I justify eating fruits high in sugar? Thank you for your comments. Ozzy

A: Yes, when you have a candida issue it's best to avoid refined sugar. Sugar from a natural source like fruits should be consumed moderately. In your case it would be best to consume fruits mainly in the mornings for breakfast when your body maximizes on food the most, avoiding the ones that are very high in sugar.

Q: 10 years ago I had iodine radiation treatment, because I had an overactive thyroid, and was told that the iodine treatment would shrink my thyroid gland. After the treatment I developed hypothyroidism. I have been on Synthyroid medication every since. What herbal product do you recommend that I take for my under active thyroid? Because my thyroid is not producing what a normal gland produces.

    A:

We recommend you first perform the Full Body Cleanse. After completing the cleanse, as a daily regimen take the Thyroid Aid and iodine Formula.

Please take the time to read our Thyroid Gland article.

Like white rice with black bean sauce, spinach, and pasta at time's I'll eat some Chinese fried rice, veggie roll, steamed vegetables, any advice?

Q: I was actually interested in using the FULL BODY DETOX, I know that it comes with a nutritional guide but I wanted to know if it would work if I did not follow a vegan diet. A:

The RAW FOODS diet is 50% of the FULL BODY DETOX! It won't work without following the diet!

Q: Hey Gary, I've heard a lot of hype about the paleo diet. I'm a vegan. Is the paleo diet a diet you would recommend? Can it work with vegan lifestyle? Thanks!

    A:

Sorry for the late response, This one got kind of lost in my emails. Thanks for your question.

The Paleo diet.... something nice.... something nice.... heh.

The Paleo diet emphasizes drinking water and eating local/organic food. They shun dairy, processed food, and grains. I agree.

I disagree with just about everything else. For paleo theory to be correct Vegans either have to not exist or be doing very poorly. Wrong on both accounts. They say vegans just can't get enough protein or that we are missing x,y,z in our diets. Never mind that every major paleo website sells the supplements they say only vegans are deficient in. "Vegans don't get enough protein so eat meat and then buy our protein powder supplements. Vegans don't get enough omega 3's so just eat fish and while you are at it buy our krill oil supplements." And so on. The paleo diet is just the low carb diet re-branded. Here are the results of long term low carb eating. http://www.pcrm.org/health/reports/analysis-of-health-problems-associated-with-high.

Vegans are doing extremely well and in most long term studies Vegans end up on top in both health and longevity.

    Also see this video http://nutritionfacts.org/video/paleolithic-lessons/

They claim carbohydrates make you fat and that the more you eat the more you weigh. Why then do the 80-10-10 crowd all appear not only all thin but extremely healthy? Carbohydrates are your bodies main source of fuel. Preferred source. Every cell in your body runs on glucose. The human body is amazing. The is a secondary source of energy in case of starvation, or glucose deprived. The body starts to burn fat as fuel known as keytosis. This was only meant as a way to keep the body running during famine. However the paleo people think this is a preferred state to be in. It's not. Look up keto-acidosis. Could be deadly. The bottom line is that people will always be looking forward to the latest fad that tells them "good things about their bad habits".

My Diet program that I run follows a high carb/low fat/high alkaline/high raw protocol.  All my client reach remarkable health results.

I could go on forever, but I think you get the point. Let me know if you have anything else to add to this discussion.

Q: I see also that you recommend a complete diet with these programs. I am guessing its a vegan diet right? I wanted to ask something on that is coconut milk and coconut oils ok for that? I personally had a very hard time trying to eat that many vegetables and many ph balance vegans seem to think fruits aren?t good either. I eat that many vegetables one it tears me up the next day and two I just cant consume enough calories that way. I can try and make up for it by eating things like almonds but I eat to many almonds I get the same problem the next day. Now coconut milk (unsweetened) and a digestive enzyme works for me for picking up extra calories.... but I hear very conflicting information about coconut and its saturated fat content. Is it ok to use daily as a part of the diet for cleansing? And your oxy-drops are those the same as the drop for ph balancing water?? Or is it something different? I am wanting to start lifting weights as I need to put on some muscle and I?m wondering if its something that would be beneficial in combating muscle soreness by increased oxygen in the body.

    A:

The diet we recommend is vegan-based, and RAW FOODS. Fresh fruits, vegetables, raw nuts and seeds are ideal.

Coconut Milk and Coconut Oil are excellent products to have in your diet. The healthy fats will keep you fuller.

Oxy-Drops can help balance your electrolytes that need to be replenished after a workout in order to keep your body performing efficiently.

Q: Would the FULL BODY DETOX be of any benefit for someone eating a vegan diet for 3 weeks even though one meal per day was cooked?

    A:

I REALLY WOULDN'T SUGGEST THAT BUT YOU HAVE FREE WILL TO DO AS YOU PLEASE!

Q: Herbalist, I purchase many products from Dherbs and I would like to recommend the FULL BODY DETOX to one of my relatives who has been diagnosed with lung cancer. One of her doctor's predicted that she has 9-12 months to live and suggested that she have surgery, but she refused. The doctor's also gave her the option of taking the chemo pill. Is there a detox kit that you can recommend? I would like to send the information to her.

    A:

Doctors can only predict how long one has to live solely based upon knowing how deadly their chemo or radiation is. Doctors are not God and should not predict life longevity. I would recommend that this person perform the FULL BODY DETOX Cleanse immediately followed by the RESPIRATORY CLEANSE AND REGIMEN. There's much knowledge on our site in our articles category.

Q: I read the food chart for the FULL BODY DETOX. Is it ok to eat the cream of wheat while detoxing? I'm confused because on the food chart it mentioned alot of different foods, but it tell you the best thing to do is a all raw food diet such as salads and fruit, smoothies... I also plan to do the ANTI-VIRAL CLEANSE AND REGIMEN right after the FULL BODY DETOX and that requires a all raw food diet as well. So that means 2 months of strictly raw foods right? :( Its tough but I am determined too get rid of this hsv1 & hsv 2

    A:

I suggest you read the article â€WHAT IS RAW FOODS†as it will help you to understand what to eat and what not to eat on the FULL BODY DETOX. Yes, all raw foods for 2 months (to the best of your ability, Beloved). YOU CAN DO IT, BELOVED! Did you read our "GENITAL HERPES" article?
