    Q: What's the best way to start on a vegan/raw food diet? I am not sure what to eat to make sure I would get a nutritious diet-you may not be able to go into that much detail but how can I get sample meal plans for breakfast, lunch and dinner incorporating this type of diet-perhaps there is somewhere on the web I find something like this?     If I do say myself, the best way to start a raw food diet is to be coached by me. I run a 6 month health coaching program that is 60-90 percent raw and 100 percent vegan/gluten free/ allergy free. You can find out more about my program at www.theveganeffect.com.     Here are some other tips to get started.

    1: Join a raw food meetup group or community. Surround yourself with supportive people who can point you in the right direction. Try meetup.org or 30bananasaday.com 

    2: Read books like "beauty detox solution" by snyder, "80/10/10" by Dr. Graham., or "The Paradigm diet" by Adam Dave

    3: Start simple with breakfast. Always start your day with a green smoothie. read "Green smoothie revolution" by forget authors name at the moment. heh.

    A sample meal plan would be.

    Breakfast: Green smoothie

    Bridge: raw bar, handful of nuts or seeds, or fruit

    Lunch: Raw wraps made from collard greens. use a base of tahini, hummus, or nut butter. Fill with sprouts and colorful veggies

    Bridge: raw bar, handful nuts or seeds, or fruit

    Dinner: Raw pasta with a large salad

    Snack: Sorbet

    Q: I am very interested in Dherbs herbal formulas - they appear to be high quality, good formulas. I have a question for you. I eat a vegan diet, about 50% raw foods (sometimes more), get regular exercise, and love to spend time in nature. I am a generally healthy person who rarely gets sick.     Q: I have a question. My son is 16 and got him detox just 2 days ago. He hasn't started it because he cannot do with school so I told him to wait for vacation and then start because he cannot handle the food diet. anyway, we are vegetarians, and was wondering if he has bad acne, would just the blood and lymph formula work for now until we start detox to take care of his acne. I also ordered that but thought I will start after the detox and he wants to clear his face sooner and detox with diet is impossible at that age and being in school unless he does not follow the diet?     Q: I recently downloaded the Alternative Diet and Lifestyle Manual. I'm not to sure which of the three programs I'm truly ready to handle. I did raw for the full 20 days and what that told me is that I'm not ready for all raw and no meat, but I also read the article you have on Multiple Sclerosis where do I start? And When?

    Q: I want to start the raw food diet, but do not want to lose weight has i am under weight already. I need tips to gain or at least maintain my weight. I do lift weights as part of my exercise routine.

    Thanks for the question,

    Losing "weight" on a raw foods diet is a definite probability. But the weight might be excess fat and water retention due to detoxing. By weight I am assuming you are talking about muscle. It is not that complicated to keep muscle while on a raw food diet. The Vegan Effect diet program I created is 60-90 percent raw. Raw before dinner if that helps. I allow myself one cooked meal a day. For the most part the diet is a Low fat/high carb/high fruit/high alkaline diet. 

    The most important thing to remember is getting enough calories. My athletes (including raw body builders) typically eat 1000 calories of fruit for breakfast in the form of a green smoothie. Usually post workout. You need to eat roughly 3000 calories to maintain or grow muscle mass. Some of my mass building athletes eat as much as 5000 calories. Albeit at a higher fat ratio than our standard 70/10/20 carb/fat/protein ratios.

    Q: I have been living with uterine fibroids for about 2 1/2 years. My uterus is the size of a 3-month pregnancy now. I had always counted on getting surgery following in my sister's footsteps but...I don't want to. I know that surgery will not cure them and they will possibly return.     Q: I see also that you recommend a complete diet with these programs. I am guessing its a vegan diet right? I wanted to ask something on that is coconut milk and coconut oils ok for that? I personally had a very hard time trying to eat that many vegetables and many ph balance vegans seem to think fruits aren?t good either. I eat that many vegetables one it tears me up the next day and two I just cant consume enough calories that way. I can try and make up for it by eating things like almonds but I eat to many almonds I get the same problem the next day. Now coconut milk (unsweetened) and a digestive enzyme works for me for picking up extra calories.... but I hear very conflicting information about coconut and its saturated fat content. Is it ok to use daily as a part of the diet for cleansing? And your oxy-drops are those the same as the drop for ph balancing water?? Or is it something different? I am wanting to start lifting weights as I need to put on some muscle and I?m wondering if its something that would be beneficial in combating muscle soreness by increased oxygen in the body.

    Q: I was told by doctors that I have to go to surgery to replace severe valve leaking, eventually could damage lungs.     Q: I am getting ready to go in the field for 3 days with the Military, and there will not be a variety of food to choose from. I started the WEIGHT RELEASE CLEANSE AND REGIMEN on 08-Jul-08.     Q: How long does it take for Gingko Biloba to start thinning the blood for those who want to get off of blood thinners? My friend is on blood thinners. He would like to make the switch, but fear the Gingko Biloba may not work fast enough in case of a blood clot, or heart attack occurring. Can he start taking the both for maybe 2 or three days then completely get off the thinners?

    The person perhaps shouldn't even consider Gingko due to the fear which is damnable. When people are in fear I usually tell them to do what makes them feel good, and remove the fear because if a person does something in the face of fear and a bad reaction occurs, the fear won't get the blame. The herb or other natural thing will. However, for blood thinning effects of Gingko Biloba, take 9-12 capsules throughout the day, i.e. 3 capsules every 3-4 hours.
