Today’s Natural Remedy: Alkaline Water
Did you know that over 70% of the body is water, the brain is 70% water, the lungs are nearly 90% water, and approximately 83% of our blood is water, which helps with our digestion and elimination process? We need water to flow….Water delivers essential minerals and nutrients throughout our bodies rehydrating our cells for proper body function. Spring, Mineral and Alkaline Water are best to drink daily. Distilled water should only be used for short-term use to detoxifying the body. Alkaline Water is filtered water that has high ph levels usually around 7.35 up to 9.5 (acid vs. alkaline measurement of body fluids) in the body, acting as an anti-oxidant and neutralizer of harmful free radicals, blocking acidic damage to the cells of the body. Drinking alkaline water daily will increase the body’s cellular hydration, replenishing essential minerals; which normalizes the blood flow, flushing out and preventing toxic build up in the body. However, too much alkaline water (10 or more 8 oz. cups per day) may create toxicity in the body. For more details, see our article on Alkaline Water.
Drinking water at room temperature is best absorbed in the body. Cold water slows down the digestion process, it may create an acid “sludge” when combined with fats and oils that can line the intestinal tract that can cause illness and disease.
