Celebrity Detox with Dondré Whitfield – Day 1

What up Dherbers,

This is DONDRÉ or affectionately known to my family and friends as Big Dré since the birth of my son DRÉ TERRELL WHITFIELD. He just had his first birthday on Sunday. What up Lil Dré!!!

I started my Total Male Cleanse on Monday and this afternoon, which is day 1, I’m feeling like “not so big DRÉ”. lol  (I am longing to have turkey and a baked sweet potato!) Food plays such an important part in our lives and if you’re not careful it can become more than just sustenance. Often, we can slip into bouts of eating because we’re bored and moreover, using foods as a comfort for life’s struggles. Both are bad but the latter certainly presents more potential long term weight problems. You can actually become addicted to food.

Truthfully, I was not raised with a very good template for nutrition and eating habits. I often battle with myself about what I’m using food for. It’s a lot easier to do when I see that my kids look to me to show them the way. My intake of toxic foods has dropped dramatically. There are however, times when I’m human and have some “sinful food”. lol (turkey burgers, fries, etc,) But now those things are in moderation and generally meals in our home are supremely healthy and nutritious. Along with being a good example for my kids, I am further encouraged to eat well due to my family’s propensity to have high cholesterol levels. This battle has certainly helped in the way of policing my health choices to enable life longevity.

So there you have it. A little history about myself and my food relationship. lol  Headed to the gym to get in my workout. But first I have to remove my magnet and meditate to get centered.

(Shout to all the men who are man enough to put their health in prospective! Sometimes we feel like it’s more masculine to eat like a caveman. We have got to make eating right and being health conscious cool. OUR FAMILIES NEED US!!!!)

BREAKFAST – Smoothie with blueberries and bananas along with hemp seed.

LUNCH – Huge salad. “The Big Dreezy”:
Romaine lettuce, broccoli, carrots, dried cranberries, walnuts, fresh clementine slices, coconuts shavings and pomegranate/blueberry dressing (damn dats good). Variety is key when you’re going raw. You’ll feel full and you’re palate will never be bored.

DINNER – raw lasagna meal from whole foods

SNACKS –  cashews, Brazilian nuts and dried cranberries always.  I love em.

WATER……….WATER……….WATER……….lol    PEACE!

DRÉ
