Weekend was good, I got in a few workouts and weight is going down. I’m getting a little concerned about bowel movements they were happening everyday, a few times a day. I think its due to my juicing all of my meals. I’m having a salad for dinner tonight and incorporating them back into my meal plans for the last 6 days. No nuts for me; they hinder my progress, lol. I posted on my other blog that I was putting my head back in the game meaning – I’m going to push myself for the duration of this cleanse to have a great ending.

    Q: I'm on my 10th day of the Full body cleanse and I have only dropped like 5 pounds. When I go walking and come back to weigh myself. I see that I'm down like 3 lbs. But, when I weigh myself the next morning, I still only lost 5 pounds. I have lost my appetite completely. I eat fruits and a small salad other than that, I have no desire to eat. I have bowel movements about 3 times a day however, they are not regular size bowel movements. I even had a colonics yesterday, and not much happened with that, no movement.     Stop putting so much energy (emphasis) on how much (weight) you're losing. You're creating a block for yourself. In fact, you should even stop weighing yourself. Only do so after you complete the cleanse. Just focus on how you feel, and what you desire -- your objective, okay!

    Q: For the last few months off and on when I have bowel movements that are not "normal". I read somewhere that one's waste should float. My waste however comes out whole but tends to disintegrate in the water. I am very regular, I use the bathroom at least 3 times a day after each meal and maintain a pretty healthy vegan diet about 70% live foods. I was wondering if there could be an issue with absorption, or assimilation in my colon, possibly a fiber issue?

    A:

    Yes, stools should be whole (not disintegrate) and should float in the toilet water. Try increasing your dietary fiber intake with whole fruits and vegetables. Read some of our COLON articles on our site under "Articles."

    Q: Dherbs, I am experiencing some degree of headaches on my forehead on the left side. I have had about four surgeries for this thinking its related to my sinus, but no relief. I recently started to get some headaches on the back of my head, and neck pains. I took an MRI, and I am not sure of the result the doctor said it seem to be some abnormality on the back of my head may be from birth, he refered me to a nurogolist.     How long have you been experiencing the headaches? You've taken some powerful cleanses thus far. Regardless of what cleanse, start drinking Headache Tea daily. I make it, and add maple syrup, lemon juice, and chill it. This helps for my headaches which are sporadic.

    Q: Do you believe that one should eat 3 meals a day or 6 small meals a day? Sometimes I don't feel like eating 3 meals. Back in the day people would fast longer than 15 days and were healthy.

    Q: Hi I am back. Thanks for your article and herbs. I have 10 days left on my Detoxing and I am feeling good. I can't wait to take the FIBRIOD BUSTER CLEANSE AND REGIME. I also want to ask you about the French green clay and the Moroccan red clay that is mentioned on your site. I break out alot and because of that I use a lot of makeup.     Q: Good Morning, I heard about you on the Power XM radio Al Sharpton show. I'm 32yrs old I weigh 285lbs and my goal is to loose 125lbs (being realistic). My symptoms and habits are; Bowel movement once a week, headaches, lower backaches, acne, dry skin, eczema, achey joints, asthma and tired all the time! Because of my work schedule and being a single parent I do fast food 2 times a day almost everyday.     Q: I'm looking for a great colon detox. I found many on the internet that shows pictures of long rubber like bowel movements. I was surprise to see that, I feel the same may be inside me.     Q: I am so impressed with your website and the level of great information you provide. The product list is very impressive as well. I have High Blood Pressure and have been on medication for a little over five years. I am 5'8" tall 167lbs. I'm in pretty good shape. I don't understand why I have HBP. I know I want to be off the meds. I feel really tired when I try to exercise. (I mean really tired) I notice there is constant congestion and post nasal drip. I'm usually going to the bathroom to urinate 4 or 5 times every night. So, I want to accomplish a couple of things. 1. I want my energy level back so that I can get back into the gym build my body again. 2. I want to get off these meds.     Q: I’m entering my third week of the FULL BODY DETOX. For the duration of the detox, I’ve experienced loose stools. It’s not necessarily always watery; most of the time it’s mushy like, and from time to time I will notice undigested nuts in the stools. I checked your â€DETOX TROUBLESHOOTING†link for diarrhea. I’m wondering, though, if it is an accurate diagnosis of what I am experiencing. Before the detox, I always had approx three bowel movements per day. I’ve been a vegetarian (dairy on occasion) for 10 years, before turning vegan this year. Is this diarrhea? If so, should I be concerned that it’s been going on for the duration of the detox?     Q: What's the best way to start on a vegan/raw food diet? I am not sure what to eat to make sure I would get a nutritious diet-you may not be able to go into that much detail but how can I get sample meal plans for breakfast, lunch and dinner incorporating this type of diet-perhaps there is somewhere on the web I find something like this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    If I do say myself, the best way to start a raw food diet is to be coached by me. I run a 6 month health coaching program that is 60-90 percent raw and 100 percent vegan/gluten free/ allergy free. You can find out more about my program at www.theveganeffect.com.     Here are some other tips to get started.

    1: Join a raw food meetup group or community. Surround yourself with supportive people who can point you in the right direction. Try meetup.org or 30bananasaday.com 

    2: Read books like "beauty detox solution" by snyder, "80/10/10" by Dr. Graham., or "The Paradigm diet" by Adam Dave

    3: Start simple with breakfast. Always start your day with a green smoothie. read "Green smoothie revolution" by forget authors name at the moment. heh.

    A sample meal plan would be.

    Breakfast: Green smoothie

    Bridge: raw bar, handful of nuts or seeds, or fruit

    Lunch: Raw wraps made from collard greens. use a base of tahini, hummus, or nut butter. Fill with sprouts and colorful veggies

    Bridge: raw bar, handful nuts or seeds, or fruit

    Dinner: Raw pasta with a large salad

    Snack: Sorbet

    Q: I am 6'0 starting day 1 at 246, on day 4, I hit 236. But for 3 days I am at the same weight. Do I need to workout to lose more weight, if so what are some good workouts for my body type. Most of my weight is in the midsection.

    Hi, thanks for the question.

    Your body does not like rapid changes in weight and will fight you along the way. These are called plateaus. It's too early to panic and by the time you get this email I am pretty sure your weight will have shifted again. You cannot spot lose weight. Your body picks and chooses where it gains weight and where it loses weight. sometimes they aren't the same places.

    Working out always helps the process. Here is a blog I wrote, Three Successful Fitness Habits for Sustained Weight, on three successful habits for sustained weight loss.  

    Fitness for weight loss is interval cardio training and circuit weight training.

    Example of both would be:
    Interval training on bike.
    3 minute warmup
    30 seconds of high speed
    1 minute of recovery
    repeat for 15 minutes till 30 minutes.

    Circuit training (five rounds-1 minute rest in between rounds)
    Mountain climbers x 20
    Pushups x 20
    Squats x 20
    Bent over rows x 15
    Crunches x 25

    Q: Do you have any suggestions for a breakfast, lunch & dinner schedule? I'm making the transition to a healthier diet due to fibroid tumors. Currently I have broken my eating menu into 3 parts, breakfast - fruits, lunch - salads, & dinner - baked potato or any other heavy meal I intend to eat. Is this a good start? Any suggestions you can give on healthier meals for dinner are most appreciated.

    Q: I am on my 3rd day of the fully body cleansing. I am definitely doing this to lose weight. I am a 52 year old, black, Christian, wife, mother to 21 and 14 year old girls, legal secretary who is 450 lbs. I am to the point now where if I don't do this I'm going to be housebound. I can barely move some days that is why I started this because I feel so unhealthy. I have a question about the nuts. I got all gun-ho and ordered $135.00 worth of organic nuts from nuts.com. I got raisins, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, walnuts, pecans, pistachios and cashews and mixed them all up together (well I purchased 2 lbs of each but I only mixed up 1 lb of each together). Anyway, I was reading about how much calories are in nuts. Should I not pay attention to that because I was consuming a lot of calories in the first place or do I have to watch how many nuts I eat? I have put some nuts in a sandwich bags and basically filled it up and that is supposed to be my nuts ration for the day. I am also eating fruits and vegetables. So far the fruit have been grapes, grapefruit, red apples, pears, green apples and bananas. The vegetables have all been in a salad: tomatoes, celery spinach leaves, carrots, mixed in balsamic vinaigrette. I only ate the salad Monday night all the other times I have just eaten the fruit and nuts. I am also consuming approximately 75-100 oz of water. Sorry I’m long winded I just wanted you to get the entire picture.

    Nuts are best kept to a minimum if you use them at all. Nuts are extremely high in fat and have the opposite omega 3- omega 6 ratio that is optimal for health. Seeds are best as far as ratios are concerned. Also nuts are truly easy to over eat and cause your nutrient ratios to be off.

     

    A healthy vegan diet is a high raw fruitarian diet. 

    Example:

    Breakfast: green smoothie. (500-1000 calories of fruits blended with a handful of greens and water)

    Bridge: Dates and strawberries (500 calories) 

    Lunch: Salad with low sugar fruits (cucumber, tomato, squash, bell peppers) topped with fruit, beans, psuedo grains, 

    Bridge: 2-3 apples

    Dinner: Raw wraps (collard greens) with low sugar fruit and tahini

    Snack: Sorbet

    Q: I have been using this product for about a week and there are days when I do not have a bowel movement. I have started having gas and cramps. The days that I do have bowel movements it is hard as if I am constipated. This product has not worked for me at all. Please Help.

    Q: I ordered the DHERBS 10-DAY SUPREME COLON CLEANSE and this is day 3. I have been experiencing a lot of cramping and runny, liquid bowel movements. I have not taken any of the formulas this morning because of the effects I've been having. It's certainly working because in the last movement I passed a lot of mucus.     Q: I am currently doing the Full Body Cleanse and my "meal" is typically a salad. To keep it interesting, I add different vegetables and fruits to it. I am not creative enough to think of other meals that I can possibly eat that consists of only raw foods. Any suggestions. I am struggling and I have two weeks to go.

    A typical detox raw food program looks like this

    Breakfast:

    Green smoothie: 1 1/2- 2 cups water / 1 cup greens / 3-5 medium pieces of fruit blended.

    Lunch:

    Raw Wraps: collard greens as wraps/ tomato, cucumber, bell pepper / fresh herbs / Sauce (salsa/tahini/guacamole/ etc))

    Raw pasta: Zuchini sliced with a potato peeler / veggies / Homemade pasta sauce made in blender / sprouted quinoa or legumes 

    Snack: Sorbet: Blended frozen fruit in a blender

    Q: What is a good natural herbal remedy for a 5 year old with Spinia Bifida? I currently catherized my son 3-4 times daily. I'm seeking a remedy to prevent UTI's without placing him on a antibioctic regimen. I'm also interested in a great remedy for insuring that he has effective bowel movements, without giving him harsh laxatives. Any assistance you can provide me would be highly appreciated.     Q: My friend is in the hospital and she is in her early 30s. The doctor does not know whats wrong with her. She has said that one morning her feet were swollen and then days later her face. When she went to see her doctor, they ask for a urine sample and she said that she was bleeding and had bowel movements that just ran out of her.     Q: I have 2 more days left on the Total Woman Cleanse. I also completed the Full Body Detox in January.
