NYNY Tanya – Day 13

I woke up at 7a.m. ready to get my outdoor activity for the day over. My boss didn’t answer so I started to clean my house as I usually do on the weekend. I moved here not to long ago and I’m still trying to find a home for all my stuff as well as sell stuff on Craigslist so there is a lot of rearranging going on. That means a lot of heavy lifting. I can feel every sore muscle when I life a box. No pain no gain. lol. So corny but true.

I finally got a call back from my boss who said I was going to train with his client. My boss trains basketball players to help them get scholarships to colleges. I haven’t played basketball since high school. Lol. I thought this would be the most hilarious thing ever. I do remember that in basketball, all the drills, defensive slides, sprinting, shooting practice is a hell of a workout. Practice in high school was 3-4 hours long anyways and you did it 5 times a week. No wonder we were all in shape on the team. Maybe someone should make that a class at 24 hr fitness lol. Teach people how to play basketball while making them lose weight without thinking about losing weight. I would definitely join that class.

His client cancelled so we ended up by the Santa Monica Stairs. I don’t particularly care for the stairs. Too many stairs, too many people, and did I mention too many stairs. So he had another plan. I was to jog 40 blocks on the grass in the middle of an intersection. After I looked at him crazy, we started jogging, out the gate I made it two blocks before my breathing got a little out of control. I tried to catch my breath, but it would not budge. He told me I was breathing wrong. I corrected my breathing long deep breaths up the nose long breaths out the mouth. Still couldn’t catch my breath. I stated to get light headed and a few times almost passed out. He switched up to jogging 1 blocks walking one and in between sideways slides and a few basketball drills. I thought I was going to die. All the way through my first 20 blocks my chest was in so much pain. As he told me nothing was wrong with me, it is al mental I kinda wished I had passed out or had an asthma attack so this would stop. But I didn’t. On the way back around, I realize my breathing had lightened up some. There were times I didn’t feel like I was as tired and I finished the remaining 20 blocks jogging 2 blocks walking one. I was proud I didn’t give up. Afterwards, I coughed all day and wheezed something fierce. I guess my lungs were trying to open up. The only way I’m going to get through this is to keep it up.

Now…after all that wonderfulness earlier on in the day, I went out that night. My cousin had a birthday party and I think I did pretty good. They were suppose to have salad, chicken and sides in the hotel room. I got there and it was all chicken and sides. So at first I just drank water and when my juice that I had earlier was finished, I cheated. I had popcorn. I figured it was air popped and it didn’t have butter on it so it wasn’t as bad as me eating the chicken. After those 40 blocks I guess I was hungrier than I thought. I had a blast though, danced the night away.
