Day 10

Day 10

Today was a busy day, but eating fruits, vegetables and nuts has just become a part of whatever I do. I worked with two clients, and I ate a salad while working with one, and raw trail mix while working with the other. Ease–I am finding an ease with it all. This process for me has been part of a much larger focus on connecting more to my life and purpose. I am so physical that if I am out of whack with my body, it affects everything else. My wild side, my sexy side, doesn’t express itself…

Day 9: Flowing Day

Day 9: Flowing Day

Things we pretty simple today. My intestines and colon were happy, flowing right along:) We discovered the most incredible salad dressing from a raw foods restaurant, Juliano’s, in Santa Monica. It’s a ginger-garlic mixture that puts life and pizzazz in any salad. Wow! Makes it taste hearty, rich and extremely flavorful. I’ll want to use it even when I get off the detox. My throat is much better today. It tickled some but most of the symptoms have subsided. With my husband, Jerome, and I both doing the detox at the same time, there is…

Day 8: Stuff kicking up

Day 8: Stuff kicking up

I have had an irritating cough all day. I sense the herbs, in their process of cleansing, kick up the junk and attitudes we hold various parts of the body that make it weak. My lungs and throat have always been the weak link in this universe called Gail. So I went and vegetated in the steam room at the YMCA. While I was lying there, I was breathing strands of gold into my lungs, and exhaling out the crud that was inside. I may have a very active imagination but what I saw being…

Day 7: MORE

Day 7: MORE

I was out of town till this evening. Traveling the last few days has been fun and really easy. One client made me a salad out of lettuce and 5 different types (and colors) of tomatoes, each one tasting unique to itself. Another client made us dinner of a large salad with pumpkin seeds every vegetable she had in the house, and she had a lot! Avocados are very fulfilling too. I’m eating pine nuts and pine nuts throughout the day. All is well and calm. Today was a day of reflecting on all the…

Days 5 On The road

Days 5 On The road

I’m out of town and had a birthday celebration dinner with my sister. We went to a French restaurant, filled with smells of tasty meats and crunchy bread and butter. I enjoyed it all, and then ordered a Nicoise salad with all the vegetables and nuts in the kitchen that would work on the salad. Our waitress brought back a colorful plate with added red peppers, green beans and pine nuts! It was very fulfilling, and while my sister had birthday desert, I had a bowl of berries, and was very satisfied! Two things surprise…

Day 4: A day of large change

Day 4: A day of large change

This has been quite a strange day. I had to get up with my son at 5:30 am, on a Saturday (!) for his first cross-country meet, in Griffith Park through the hills. I was able to get up, function, enjoy his grand performance, meet new people, and know that All is well. I got up without a struggle, even though I was tired, and usually it takes me 10 minutes to really wake up and move, but today I just got up and jumped into the day. I thought I’d be able to take a nap, but…

Day 3: Sleepy time

Day 3: Sleepy time

Today seems to be a balancing day. It was easier to drink lots of water, and I find if I drink a bottle each time I take the herbs, I drink the amount suggested in a day. I definitely am not hungry, but I am sleepy today. Friends visited late last night so I didn’t get a full night of sleep, and that probably is affecting today. But I feel I could go to sleep and stay there for 12 hours:) That sounds yummy. My body is definitely balancing to the herbs, water and raw…

Day 2: One-Stop Shopping

Day 2: One-Stop Shopping

Wow, if anyone is constipated, this is the answer! Whew!!! Yesterday I was active in the bathroom due to all the water I was drinking. Today, while that continued, I also had the pleasure of many, easy shits. I actually can feel the spaces in my body releasing junk. I’ve never paid attention as to whether or not I could feel my actual liver or kidneys or lungs, but today I felt areas within that were releasing and giving large sighs of relief (and release:). I was out and about in my world today, working…

Day 1

Day 1

I awakened this morning feeling excited about starting the detox. I’m a curious person and luvv exploring ways to feel young and alive, but it’s weird knowing that I’d only be eating raw foods and nuts! As I looked around our home and saw the clutter and extra “stuff” that I’ve been wanting to shed for some time, I felt hope! My gut sense is that I will finally find the focus to clean out and eliminate the old, both inside and outside, as I focus on this detox. Yehaw!! The day has been fine….

Day 19 and 20 the final chapter for now.

Day 19 and 20 the final chapter for now.

Well, I am finished with the detox and I must say from the beginning I was skeptical of the detox process. To me it was like with Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz was trying to find the Wizard to assist her to get back home, to only find out that Wizard wasn’t a wizard at all. What the Wizard did give her was the ability to have the faith that her desire to be home could take her home. The detox is very much like that. It has the ingredients to assist you, but you have to…

Day 18- I want chicken

Day 18- I want chicken

Today was a tough day from a food standpoint. I am ready to add chicken to my meals. I like the newness of my food regiment, but feel it’s time to make some adjustments. The raw food component of the detox has taught me some great deal about meals that I can prepare for myself that are both tasty and healthy. After not having chicken or steak for 19 days it has began wearing on me just a little. Both are sources of protein and I have been a meat eater for all my life. I don’t think…

Day 17 – Running on Detox

Day 17 – Running on Detox

Today was a great day. I got to run with my son, something that i haven’t done in at least 10 years if not more. As you all know I was a runner in high school and college and ran the mile/2 miles and 3 mile races, along with Cross country. My son has now picked up running and has done well for someone who is doing it part time between basketball and other interest that he has. I decided today to venture out away from the treadmill and to run on the track– I invited Pharoah to…

Day 16 – Encouragement

Day 16 – Encouragement

Today was all about people around me who luvv me giving me words of encouragement from their hearts. It first starts with my wife, Gail. She has been in my corner forever. I call her my “great woman”. She is beautiful and while we deal with all the things that people who have been married for 18 years, I wouldn’t do it any other way. I did the Detox first of all for me. I was feeling sluggish, stagnant and Lethargic. I also did the Detox as a way of hopefully hanging around here for a few extra…

Day 15 and 16

Day 15 and 16

As I move closer to the 21 day ending of the Detox I am looking at what I will do next. I am a carnivore at heart and I doubt that I will radically change that. I can see myself eating less meat and watching my fats, etc. I also can see myself not having soda. Before the detox I use to have 3-6 sodas a day, depending. My energy is more even keel from the reduction of caffeine and sugar. I feel the positive impact of the herbs in and on my body and…

Day 14 – Inch by Inch

Day 14 – Inch by Inch

When I started the Detox decided to take some measurements so I could have a reference point to if there would be any changes in my body. Sometimes actual data is very useful. Here is what my day one measurements looked like Body type Day 1 46 inch waist 48.5 inch stomach 42 inch chest I was surprised at some of the numbers and they definitely demonstrated why I needed to do something about my health and body. It’s funny…

Day 13-Run as fast as you can for as long as you can

Day 13-Run as fast as you can for as long as you can

The treadmill and Detox Tonight I was on the treadmill walking and watching The Steve Prefontaine movie that I never grow tired of. The movie to me is such as inspiration and demonstration of the individual and what we are capable of doing. The other night, for the first time in years. I was able to run 5 minutes at a very slow pace (probably a 15 minute mile pace), but I was encouraged because my hypothesis (if I lose some weight I will be able to run again) was proven correct. So tonight I…

Day 12-The smell of coffee

Day 12-The smell of coffee

Today I was awaken by the aromatic smell of coffee. The amazing thing is no one in my house drinks coffee, and my wife was not at home and my son was at school. As I lay in bed the smell got stronger, almost like someone had brought a cup of coffee to me while I was sleeping. I could smell the flavor, almost like a vanilla bean. It had to be one of my neighbors. A few days, after having been on the Detox, my sense of smell increased tremendously. It wasn’t, but a few years ago…

Day 11..Running on Detox

Day 11..Running on Detox

Steve Prefontaine, was one of America’s greatest athletes. He was a world class runner who ran for the University of Oregon and later for the USA in the Munich Olympics. Pre–as he is intimately known as was my motivation as a runner. He died in 1975 in a car accident. I use to watch all of the meets he was in that I could and when I went on my own personal training runs I would think about how hard he trained and it helped my training. Running is the original sport known to mankind and is…

Day 9 and 10

Day 9 and 10…………i did 20 minutes on the treadmill and 20 minutes running in the pool It felt good and it also speeds up the weight loss. I’ve also discovered that I make better smoothies than Robek’s or Jama Juice. I made one last night with Raspberries, strawberries, mixed fruit, bananas and pineapple juice it was pretty good. Yesterday I was in an environment were that had some of my favorite food–Hot links. I was in the facility for 6 hours and could smell them the entire time. There I was eating carrots and…

Day 8, the Matrix

Day 8, the Matrix

I found myself in a Matrix on day 8. It was one of those days that lasted longer than 24 hours. Have you ever had a day that, similar to the Twilight Zone, just seem to continue into the next day. That is what Day 8 has been like. I am actually into day 9 (it’s noon time). I tried to write Day 8 last night, but sleep kept calling me. And it seems like there was a variety of a thing to talk about, but sleep won over. Sleep is something we all do and some of…
