What is Masturbation?

Masturbation can be healthy for the smart male who masturbates sparingly and sporadically. The wise male absolutely avoids masturbation.
Masturbation is the normal, healthy process of stimulating one's genitals for sexual pleasure. It is one of the most common practice of autoeroticism.

Different people use different tools or techniques during masturbation. In general, people masturbate to achieve an orgasm. Surveys have shown that people of all ages and backgrounds enjoy masturbation, although it is more accepted in some cultures and countries than others.

There are techniques that are common to both men and women, although both genders have differences as well. The shared techniques include:
  • Pressing or rubbing the genital area, either with fingers or against an object (such as a pillow)
  • Applying lube to genital areas to intensify sensation
  • Inserting fingers or an object into the anus
  • Stimulating the penis or vulva with electric vibrators
  • Additionally, both men and women may enjoy touching, rubbing, or pinching the nipples or other erogenous zones while masturbating
  • Reading or watching porn will sometimes occur either previously or concomitantly with masturbation
  • Some potentially harmful masturbation activities include autoerotic asphyxiation and self-bondage
Male Techniques

Masturbation techniques vary according to personal preference and physical factors (such as if the man has been circumcised).

  • Generally, men will hold the penis in one hand and then move their hand up and down the shaft. The speed of the movements and pressure will vary, although generally speed increases as ejaculation nears, while decreasing during the ejaculation itself
  • For uncircumcised men, the foreskin is held and slid over the glans
  • For circumcised men, such movement might create uncomfortable friction. To avoid feelings of discomfort, some men may choose to apply a lubricant
  • Some men enjoy using artificial vaginas, vibrators, or dildos (to stimulate the prostate gland)

    Female Techniques

Women use a variety of positions and techniques to masturbate, including:
    • Stroking or rubbing the vulva (especially the clitoris) with index and/or middle fingers
    • Inserting fingers into the vagina to stroke the frontal wall (where location of the G-spot)
    • Using vibrators or dildos for additional stimulation
    • Caressing breasts, nipples, or other erogenous zones
    • Some popular positions for masturbation include lying on back, face down, sitting, kneeling, or standing.
    • Some women can also sexually stimulate themselves by crossing their legs tightly and clenching the muscles in their legs, which creates pressure on the genitals.
    • Sometimes memories of previous orgasms or sexual fantasies can create additional sexual pleasure
    Health Benefits

There are many health benefits to masturbation, both physical and psychological.

Masturbation can reduce depression by leading to a stronger sense of self-esteem. Masturbation can also be useful for people in relationships. If one partner wants more sex than the other, masturbation can be a good way to achieve the same effect and thus minimize conflict over the issue. Moreover, by watching a partner masturbate, one learns their preferred method of touching and pleasure spots, which can be useful when engaging in sexual intercourse together.

Some studies have shown positive physical benefits, such as the 2003 Australian research team that found that men who masturbate frequently are less likely to develop prostate cancer. In 1997, one study found an inverse association between coronary heart disease and frequency of orgasms. A 2008 study at the Tabriz Medical University concluded that ejaculation reduces swollen nasal blood vessels, freeing the airway for normal breathing.

Lastly, one of the great benefits of masturbation is that it provides sexual pleasure without the risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease such as HIV or herpes.

People who insert foreign objects into their genital areas run the risk of lodging them. There have been cases of people requiring medical assistance to remove objects (such as pencils). In general, however, masturbation is very safe. It's a good way to learn more about one's sexual preferences in a safe environment, and it is becoming more and more socially acceptable in Western culture.

Q: I wanted to touch base with you and let you know that I took yourTOTAL MALE CLEANSE about 2 months ago. Unfortunately, I did not really receive any health benefits from this session and my problem persists. My problem comes from excessive masturbation--excessive ejaculation. I have burning in my stomach, side, groin area, and testicles. This has been going on for over 4 years. It has gotten better but I am in not even close to being able to have sexual relations with a women. My testicles feel week and tingly most days. When I should be "getting excited" I feel tingling in my abdomen and side. I have tried a remedy from Dr. Lin's herbal supplements and this didn't give any substantial change. Do have any further suggestion?

Q: I have a myriad of health problems due to, I believe, excessive masturbation. Ailments include: Low hanging reddish testicles (at times) Epididymitis Pain and inflammation of the vas deferens Pain and "it seems" mild inflammation in the lower abdominal. Pre-mature ejaculation (I masturbate only once a month) could this be too much if my body is destroyed? At the onset I had penis shrinkage, and seminal discharge or oozing. Constant urination, dripping, pressure in the pelvis and/or bladder. I have tried a bunch of products but none have worked. Dr. Lin's herbal formulas for 8 months. Acupuncture with 4 different people. Chinese herbs with 2 of them. Ginseng tonic formulas. They are all expensive and I am having trouble affording everything. Life is hard enough without this type of problem. I need to avoid being ripped off. I would appreciate any feedback and/or correspondence.

We would recommend that you perform our Full Body Cleanse, then follow that up with our Male Cleanse. These cleanses help to provide essential nutrients conducive to male sexual reproductive health.

After you finish the cleanses, go with Male Hormonal Formula, Prostate Formula and Male Health Tea to continue to maintain the wellness of your testicles, penis, and prostage gland.

And more importantly, give masturbating a break for a while.

Also, soak in hot water and 2-3 boxes of sea salt daily.

Q: About 8 years ago my boyfriend and I had intercourse, and this one time he said that when we had intercourse that his penis felt like it was burning. We both went to the health clinic, had cultures done and could not find anything wrong with him. they told me that I had a yeast infection. since then he has had a hernia repaired. Now he has another hernia and is going to get that fixed. he says that the tip of his penis gets red, and it burns really bad when he urinates. about 2 years ago he went to a urologist. He told my boyfriend that his prostate was swollen and that it sat to the left a little bit and that the urethra tube was swollen. He gave my boyfriend a prescription for urinating and that was it. He spent $800 dollars and the problem is still there. We have tried everything including herbs. Any suggestions as what it could be and what he could take?

Sounds like your boyfriend has serious inflammation of the penis. Only mucus/acidity causes inflammation like this. The prostate would not cause the tip of the penis to swell up.

Inflammation while urinating usually denotes STD (sexually-transmitted disease) infection. However, it could be that your vagina is too acidic. It's most definitely of a sexual nature. You and your boyfriend should both perform the 20-day Full Body Cleanse and abstain from sex during this time to purify and strengthen your bodies.

For temporary relief of the penile inflammation, have him dip the head of his penis in a bowl or cup of cold aloe vera gel. Make sure he drinks a half cup of BITTER cranberry juice (diluted with water) daily as well.

He should also bathe in hot water DAILY with 2 boxes of sea salt added and a cup of hydrogen peroxide.

Q: Thank you for the cancer info...It is welcome and beyond informative, however, I take issue with your remark that "women would be wise to just accept the fact that they are female by nature and God made them to have (deliver) babies and they should stop trying to compete with and be like men." Part of me is not surprised--men make comments like this all the time. I chalk it up to ignorance, as men enjoy living their entire lives not having to endure periods, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and lord knows what else. So because a woman does not want to have children--at all, or at a particular time in her life--she wants to be a man?! That's an illogical conclusion you are making. So why are there pregnant women with cancer, some of which who have never taken BC pills? Are women entitled to making any sort of control over their reproductive health? What about women who are infertile, naturally? If they develop cancer, is it because they never gave birth to a child? Are you willing to support all of the children that will result from women not being on Birth Control, since many people cannot afford several children on their incomes? This line of reasoning makes some women think that men really need to get over themselves. I think you have been reading too much Freud. Some women, present company included, appreciate our femininity and everything that encompasses being a woman. At the same time, this is not the dark ages--and even then, women chose not to have children during different times in their lives. Surely you are aware that in non-Western countries women utilize natural herbs to control their reproduction or as abortifacients? I am not advocating abortion; my point is that if you are going to criticize women taking BC pills, you may as well extend this criticism to women naturally preventing pregnancy via alternative means.

Birth control pills play a big role in female reproductive cancers. Women would be wise to just accept the fact that they are female by nature and God made them to have (deliver) babies and they should stop trying to compete with and be like men. In attempting to stop or prevent life (birth control), they are ending up losing their very own lives. And the birth control pills cause cancer in areas of the body that denote femininity (breasts, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, uterus and vagina). This is a form of language here. You have disease and female organ(s) which basically means your disease is specifically related to an issue of femaleness or femininity, that's why the disease manifests in these "female" organs. In attempting to be like and compete with males, females compromise their feminine integrity and goddess nature which "eats them up" (anger, frustration, sadness, etc.) inside. When the cancer appears in any female organ, it serves as a sign or sensor that the problem lies on a deeper metaphysical level pertaining to emotions, thoughts and attitude."

Q: I recently received bad news that my grandmother has cancer in several areas of her body. I am having a really hard time staying positive and generally dealing with it since I live so far from my family. Being a military family will do that I guess. Anyway since I heard the news I have broken out with 2 sores on my vagina (from ingrown hairs) and it also burns when I urinate and I have even developed cuts around my anus and on my clitoris hood. I have no clue if it's a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) or what. It even hurts when I am just lying in bed. I am starting a lemonade detox today and was hoping for any suggestions that you may have. I have not eaten meat in about two or three months. However I am still addicted to sugar. I hope all my information helps you in helping me discover a cause and solution to my issue.

It appears your problem is psycho-somatic in nature. What kind of cancer does your grandmother have? Is it a female reproductive type cancer?
