Hi, I’m a 36 year old African/American woman with 4 children whose been trying to lose weight off and on for the past 16 years. I lose the weight but then I gain it right back after I go off of my
diet. I know that I need a good body/colon cleanse, but what I need to learn how to do is to eat the right food’s to keep my body healthy. I’ve been conditioned to eat the foods that I do eat, I need
to know how do I go about “de-programming” myself from the bad food’s and program myself to want and crave the healthy one’s? I’m open to any suggestion’s you have, even using crystals and

    Q: Hello, I enjoyed reading the information on your website. I have many questions, but my concern is that I am 43 year old African- American female, who would be classified as obese. Last year I had a miscarriage, which was devastating to me though we were not trying to get pregnant. I have a 16 year old healthy son. The doctor wanted me to have a hysterectomy because of my age and reported that I had non-cancerous fibroids.     Q: I recently completed the Full Body Detox, which I loved. Now, 2 months later, I am very interested in the weight release program. Last year, I lost 40 lbs in 8 months, in the most healthy way (good nutrition and exercise).     Q: My question is about hair loss. I am a 45 year old African American female. I started losing my hair about 15 years ago. I specifically remember unusual symptoms before it started to fall out. First, my entire scalp had a burning sensation, and it was very tender to the touch. It was very difficult to brush, comb and wash. Then after that, I am not sure how much longer after, but a dry patch of skin developed toward the back of my head (approximately 1 inch in diameter). I was able to peel it off and pull it through the strains of hair (very weird). That happened a couple of times and not too long after that, my hair started to fall out in large amounts for a fairly long period of time. At the moment I would say that I am mostly bald with hair mostly around the edges. Also I would like to mention that hair started to grow on my chest BUT I started to lose hair in my vaginal area. Sorry if some of this sounds sketchy but it's been 15 years!! I will try to give you a little bit of my history. I am 5'8" and 135lbs. I would say that for the most part, I have been an athlete all my life. My menses were very irregular sometimes and/or absent for long periods of time. I would have to say that it is now a pleasure to have my "period". This also might be a result from switching my diet to a vegetarian diet. I have been a vegetarian for about 16 years. I did get relaxers, but only twice a year. I have had my appendix removed when I was in elementary school. My bowel movements are usually once a day. (I know it needs to be 3.)     Q: I am a 29 year old African American female. I would like to tell you my story and get your advice. Before Sept. 28, 2008 I was a healthy fun loving female but after sept. 28th my health has not been the same. I wake up in the morning weak with nausea and headaches. I went to Kaiser and they said I had a virus and I had to let it take its course. I work with kids and it was hard for me to go back to work because 1. I kept getting sick. 2. My boss was mad that I was sick and not able to work. So I went back to Kaiser and then they said I was sick and had a virus with a mix of anxiety(due to my boss going crazy on me). So Kaiser told me to go see a Upper GI Dr. I went to see one and had an endoscopy done and they found a yeast infection in my throat and that also my esophagus was irritated to but my stomach looked fine. So they put me on Prontiox (for the irritated esophagus and Difucan (for the yeast infection). Well as soon as I finished the medication for the yeast infection in my esophagus, I lost my voice and could not talk for 4-5 days and I still have the stomach pains. So the Upper GI dr. told me the sore throat and losing my voice was a side effect to GERD and that is what I may have. So he asked to up the dose of the Prontiox (so now I am taking 80 mg instead of 40 mg a day). But guess what still having stomach pains and my voice still goes in and out and it feels like something is stuck in my throat and now when I eat, I feel food get stuck in my chest like right in the middle of my breast. So what is going on with me...they have done blood work on me from blood count to checking me for STD's (even HIV) and everything came back normal/negative. And they keep saying all my blood work is healthy...So what is going on and what can I take, because I am a natural person and my system is sensitive to a lot of stuff and I don’t like being on these medications. And now the DRs may think I have IBS..Oh boy Help!! And oh yeah I have had very bad cramps when I have my period and take Motrin and I would like to know is there anything I can take that is sensitive to my stomach... HELP

    Q: I want to start the raw food diet, but do not want to lose weight has i am under weight already. I need tips to gain or at least maintain my weight. I do lift weights as part of my exercise routine.

    Losing "weight" on a raw foods diet is a definite probability. But the weight might be excess fat and water retention due to detoxing. By weight I am assuming you are talking about muscle. It is not that complicated to keep muscle while on a raw food diet. The Vegan Effect diet program I created is 60-90 percent raw. Raw before dinner if that helps. I allow myself one cooked meal a day. For the most part the diet is a Low fat/high carb/high fruit/high alkaline diet. 

    The most important thing to remember is getting enough calories. My athletes (including raw body builders) typically eat 1000 calories of fruit for breakfast in the form of a green smoothie. Usually post workout. You need to eat roughly 3000 calories to maintain or grow muscle mass. Some of my mass building athletes eat as much as 5000 calories. Albeit at a higher fat ratio than our standard 70/10/20 carb/fat/protein ratios.

    Q: I am a massage therapist. During a year long detox with the help of a Naturopath I lost about 40 pounds. However, I could only lose weight while fasting. Though I recognized that I was extremely toxic (very thick, dark menses every 15 days to flu-like symptoms) it seemed that fecal matter was getting "stuck" in the bend of the trans. Colon and disc. Colon. Maintaining the weight losses and good health was difficult in spite of being on a wholesome diet. Digestive enzymes seemed to adversely affect digestion since elimination was slow (once a day).     Q: I am an African American, 70 years old, and in good health and physical condition. I jog/walk 1 1/2 miles 5 days a week, do pushups and sit ups daily.     Q: My 14 year old cousin's mom has checked her into to mental hospital. This entire school year she has ben dealing with alot going into high school, and other teen age issues.
