You should always have dates in the refrigerator or pantry while you are cleansing because they are the perfect sweeteners for dressings, snacks, or smoothies. The great thing about this date syrup is that it is filled with fiber, antioxidants, and there are no refined sugars!

- 1 1/2 c filtered water
- 1 1/2 c dates pitted
- 1 tsp. lemon zest
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- Bring the water to a boil and let it cool for five minutes.
- Add the water and the rest of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour into a glass jar with a lid and store it in the fridge. It will keep fresh in your fridge for one month.
