Grilled Cauliflower Steaks With A Fresh Herb Sauce

Now that the days are longer, it is the perfect time to get outside and uncover the grill! If you don’t have a grill, you can also use a grill pan to get those desirable char marks. Make sure that the “steaks” are generously covered in spices. You want those flavors to be bold!

  • Prep Time: 5m

  • Total Time: 15m

For the Cauliflower Steaks

  • 1 large head cauliflower
  • 1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. ground turmeric
  • Sea salt and pepper to taste

For the Herb Sauce

  • 2 tbsp. packed fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp. packed fresh mint, finely chopped
  • 1/2 small lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1 tsp. olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, finely minced
  • 1 large pinch red pepper flakes

For the Cauliflower Steaks

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. While your grill is heating up, trim the leaves and end of the stalk off the head of cauliflower. From top to bottom, slice the head into steaks (as pictured). You should get about 4 steaks, depending on the size of the cauliflower.
  3. Brush both sides of each steak with oil and season with the cumin, turmeric, sea salt, and pepper.
  4. Grill the steaks for about 5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and plate them.

For the Herb Sauce

  1. Whisk all of the ingredients together in a bowl and then drizzle it over the cauliflower steaks.
