Immune-Boosting Kale Ginger Smoothie

The green smoothies keep on coming, and this recipe is no slouch. The flavor profile is refreshing sweet, but you get a little kick from the ginger and zing from the lemon juice. Plus, the creamy homemade almond milk contributes to this smoothie’s lovely consistency. And the date provides just the right amount of sweetness, complementing the natural sugars from the banana and mango.

It’s probably no surprise to learn that kale benefits the immune system. It is, after all, an incredible superfood that exhibits impressive quantities of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. From strengthening your bones to promoting heart health, there’s nothing kale can’t do! Immune-Boosting Kale Ginger Smoothie

  • 1 c mango, cubed and frozen overnight
  • 1 banana, peeled, sliced, and frozen overnight
  • 1 c kale, de-stemmed and loosely packed
  • 1 Medjool date, pitted
  • 1/2 -inch ginger root, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 1/2 c homemade almond milk
  • 1/2 c filtered water


  1. Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. This may take a minute or so because of the frozen ingredients.
  2. Pour into one large cup, or a couple smaller cups, and enjoy immediately.
