Mango Orange Ginger Smoothie

  2 rater(s)

Some people wonder how it’s possible to enjoy a smoothie when the weather is cold. Don’t you agree that enjoying ice cream in the cold is a wonderful experience? It doesn’t melt like it does on a hot day! Although this smoothie isn’t quite on the same level as ice cream, it does help to warm the body. You can thank the ingredients (and the temperature) for that!

Is there such a thing as a warming smoothie? Look…a smoothie can have warming ingredients, but it’s not like drinking it will change the weather. This smoothie contains a warming ingredient, but it is also warm. That’s right, folks, you add boiling water to the smoothie. It literally is a warm smoothie! It sounds like a thing that should not be, but it actually provides a jolt of freshness and a little kick. You get the tropical burst from the mango and refreshing zest from the orange.

The ginger is the real zinger in this recipe. Ginger is a natural antioxidant and antiseptic that may help improve circulation in the body. Increasing blood flow, especially to the surface of the skin, can help warm the body. Additionally, ginger works to reduce inflammation, lubricating stiff or achy joints. You can easily add ginger to numerous recipes, be they raw or not, this fall and winter season. If you find a ginger recipe that you like, let us know in the comments below.
