Overnight Chai Steel-Cut Oats

Ingredients

For the Oats

  • 1 c steel-cut oats
  • 1 1/2 c almond milk
  • 2 tbsp. ground flax
  • 1/4 tsp. cardamon
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp. maple syrup

Optional Toppings

  • shredded coconut, pecans, almonds, or toasted hazelnuts

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl combine oats, almond milk, flax, cardamon, vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and maple syrup.
  2. Divide, in equal portions, into two 8 ounce glass jars. Close the lid and refrigerate overnight.
  3. Open lid, stir and sprinkle with toppings of your choice.

Notes:

The amount of almond milk may vary to your taste. If you want it more creamier, you would need to use 2 cups almond milk instead of the 1 1/2 suggested.
